It's normal. Sherwood doesn't want to put too much pressure on any of them.

It's not 'normal'. Some players come and hit the ground running. Others dont and take time.

If all of our new lads take a season to get used to the league then we're in danger of going down. Again.

Granted, amavi has hit the ground running but the rest are already being labelled with the 'Itl take time to adjust'.

Only Ayew and Veretout need time.

The real problem is being afforded the time for the team to gel.

That is the problem there are a few who are very impatient and don't have the wisdom or inclination to do that. But that's true for all clubs I presume. I personally don't think we will struggle as before. Very optimistic that once we gel we will get even better.

No I cannot find one report from the agents actual mouth!

Sherwood didn't say anything - the player didn't say anything but by god some fans sure did without any real shred of evidence other than in their mind that because he was not on the bench or playing he was not going to be here this season and Sherwood doesn't rate him.....and blah de blah!

But I suppose that was debating in a small way (other than a mass debating   in a big way)

Sherwood. Didn't want him. Pleasantly surprised at how competent he's been. Pleasantly surprised at his ability to assemble such a good backroom staff. Pleasantly surprised at his transfer dealings and the work he seems to put in. Very much behind him right now. 

 

Gabby. Different managers come and they all play him. I don't rate him, especially out wide, but I guess I don't know that much about football. 

 

Westwood. Don't like him as the deepest of a middle 3 because he's shown he's not good at tracking runners. Other than that I think he's good and the type of player whose performance gets better when playing with better teammates.

 

Richards. The proverbial wild card. Could be the difference between a relegation dogfight and a comfortable midtable finish. 

 

Guzan. Good enough for where we are but not a top 10 prem league keeper. 

 

Ayew. Don't rate him. Don't like him. No reason why, just don't for some reason. 

 

Amavi. 30M please, Mr. Abramovich.

Well I'm glad you aren't the manager cos Sherwood rates Ayew (who is by no means the finished article and needs time) but looks like you have already written him off after 2 competitive games.

 

AVAMI - already have him sold - I want Villa (Sherwood,Fox,Wilkins) to build a Villa Team that players WANT to come to and want to stay and make us a success.

 

For me I don't care I back the Manager and Player while he wears the shirt and is on the pitch. Once they go I don't give a flying **** about them.

That is true but apparently because in some 'fans' eyes they are too good for us. You know the team that although for the last 4-5 years has struggled and had a bad time is still a huge club in the eyes of non UK based players and clubs.

Was at this game but mate text to say that at one corner their defender had his arms round micahs neck and should have had a penalty. He causes defenders problems at set pieces. ALL the team need time to gel as a unit. Once they do they will get better. Micah is better than baker vlaar and senderos so a big improvement in defence.

The Dr sums it up to a tee there. Needs time which he will get from the manager and back room staff but not I fear from some 'in the know' who can tell from the first game or two. Glad there are some who can see the talent and the rawness. He will come good. Given time he will become better. And to those who said we got the wrong ayew- the other one is older so not surprised he's better (at the moment).
