What about the hundreds of other people with the complete opposite opinion of Bannan than you on this thread? Palace fans don't know what a decent player is... the last time they had one was probably Lombardo back in the 90's. Your average fan doesn't actually know that much about football... they look at 5 second clips on MotD and base their opinions on that. We've establised that Bannan can look quite good on MotD. However, football managers do know what is a good player and ultimately every single manager that has given Bannan a chance has dropped him. This isn't a coincidence. The proof of the pudding is in the eating... and Bannan has gone from Villa first team to Villa bench to Villa squad to Palace first team to Palace bench. He is doing exactly as 90% of people on this thread predicted... bombing into the Championship at great haste.

If you take Swansea's twitter opinions on Bannan they are pretty much suicidal at the thought of buying Championship standard players. Anyway, all of this is irrelevant to the proper facts of the matter. The facts are that Bannan has been dropped from every single manager that he has ever played under. He has one of the worst midfield assist ratios in Premier League history and most of all whenever I see him play with my own eyes he is simply a woeful all round footballer. He'd probably be alright at 5-a-side, but 11-a-side he is simply dreadful compared to other Premier League players. Interesting to see that the only common denominator in Palace's last couple of losses is BANNAN.

Bannan benched once again and with only 1 of their deadline day signings in the squad today (Hennessey the new goalie) it is likely to be the last time Bannan even makes the bench. His season at Palace is almost identical to his last season at Villa. World Class at anything? Very obviously not.

Phase one of Lamberts job spec has been completed... reduce the wages... now we have a solid financial foundation to build on... it is a cross roads and everything depends on Lerner's ambitions. My personal thoughts are that Lambert would never have left a job where he was adored to take a job where he'd only ever be told to cost cut, reduce wages and keep us in the league year after year... it wouldn't make sense. I think it is fairly obvious that the agreement for Benteke staying was that he is allowed to go this summer and we bought Kozak in as a replacement and give him a year to settle. I'd say it is good planning by all involved and is the total opposite of being sold under his nose.

Bannan's win rate for Crystal Palace currently is 29% which is not far off the 33% (team high?) he got for villa last season. That's 4 wins for Palace, out of the 7 they have so far. He's a proven winner in the Palace team and Pulis has to win another 2 games to prove the team can win without him. Bannan was new so didn't start the first games under Holloway and from the POV of the Crystal Palace fan their form turned around with him in the team. Back-to-back victories against West Ham and Cardiff. Con, Bannan could be playing for Sutton Coldfield and you would still be arguing how it is nothing to do with Bannan why he didn't fulfill his potential. This much has become clear because you just talk absolute utter shit to try to justify your inane defense of him last season. There is very little point actually entering an conversation with you because of this.
