  1. I think the loan deadline is not until the end of September and so I doubt we will see Bannan move in the next day or so. Unfortunately.
  2. I'm not surprised. He's shit. They know this. If anything, qualifying for the CL means they can afford a much better quality player than wee Bannan.
  3. I think the 400 pages is more like 10 pages of Con writing utter jibberish and 390 pages of everyone else proving to him what jibberish it is. Very little to actually do with the kids ability.
  4. Just to remind us ... that he is utter garbage? Lambert has dumped him mate... he will use the game to introduce players that have a future at Villa... such as Helenius, Okore, Tonev, Bacuna and Luna. Not some guy who has consistently proven he isn't anywhere near PL level. I'd go as far as saying that there is more chance of Elvis Presley crash landing a UFO on top of the Loch Ness monster than Bannan playing another minute for the Villa first team.
  5. It wouldn't surprise me if Celtic came in for him now. There is no competition in the SPL and they have practically been knocked out of the Champions League meaning there is very little point in spending any money. They will want to win the SPL this season with the minimum amount of investment and expense. Bannan fits this bill perfectly... he will be able to compete against the very weak opponents in the SPL (probably the equivalent of League One teams) and he will cost practically nothing for a big club like Celtic. Once the season has ended and the loan finishes then Bannan will be out of contract, have experience under his belt, have a SPL medal and may be able to use all of this to mug someone off to try to pay his extortionate wages for another few years. Win win for everyone I think...
  6. I've spent more than Arsenal today buying a pint of milk.
  7. Win % is not irrelevant, and you wouldn't be claiming it was irrelevant if he had lost every game he started. I'm not being stubborn because nothing has changed since he last played against Liverpool, which followed two good results (and performances) against Reading and QPR. We know Bannan performed well against Reading and QPR because not only we won, he kept his place against Liverpool. Nothing has changed since then. There is no new evidence. There is new evidence. He was awful against Croatia for Scotland. You state however, he played so well that not only was he going to keep his place in the team, he was going to play so well against England that his price was going to go from £0.5m to £3m - £5m in a single game. Strachan couldn't even bring himself to find a compliment for Bannan's performance against Croatia on the night... he had to resort to how good he looks in training! Nothing at all about the game... Once again you were wrong, like you have with every other comment you have made about Bannan. He didn't even get a single minute of play against England and he can't even engineer a move to a team that survived relegation to League One on the final game of last season, and is now courting as much publicity in the press as he possibly can to find any club out there that will pay him 4 times more than he is actually worth (which would still be a 50% pay cut for him).
  8. I like that big me up to knock me down rhetorical technique of yours. I'm not the only person who says Bannan is not "bad" or "rubbish". His result when played record last season is just something for people to think about. You can dig into that stat and find he played all the big teams. You can argue he was "lucky" but you can't argue that it's a good result record. But you are the only person who constantly quotes meaningless stats. You must know that win % is irrelevant... this is enforced by the simple fact that you were quoting how he had the best win % in the team, and then week after week it went from "the best", "one of the best" to "very good win %" and finally a "good win percentage". The stats that are meaningful have been done to death on this thread and ones you just ignore. Everything people have told you has come true about Bannan... not a single thing you said would come true has. Stubbornness. Pure and simple.
  9. Not to say the rest of your post isn't, but this bit is pure drivel. With a tiny sample size of games (n<30 for both with and without) you've been able to conclude that Bannan's performances must have been good due to a variation in winning percentage with and without him? Horse shart. I agree it doesn't prove Bannan's performances were "good" but it does show his performances weren't, on average, bad. If his performances were bad that would mean the team's best form occurred whilst playing with one bad player. That doesn't make sense. We can't prove from that record he performed "good" but it does show he wasn't bad. Con, sometimes you write stuff which makes me think you have some intelligence. Like your statistical analysis of the Villa season thread for example. But then you keep referring to this stat as your main argument for Bannan and only someone with an IQ of less than 10 would say AND believe this. You say it a lot, but I genuinely can't imagine for a moment you actually believe it. Deep down you know Bannan is rubbish... you are just too stubborn to back down.
  10. He says he played well against Reading and QPR... well if that is his standard of "playing well" then it is no wonder he has been dumped. He played well by his own standards, but it was still massively short of Premier League quality. He missed an open goal from 5 yards out FFS! At least he didn't say he did well against Liverpool, so he does have some sort of standards however low they are. I like the fact he said he went to the manager and told him that he wanted to leave... as if mate... I think Lambert is pulling all the strings here not you!!
  11. Does anyone have a login for TheSun newspaper? There is an article in there about him today where he talks about when he knew his time was up at Villa... I don't have a log in and refuse to sign up to the sun on principle... if anyone does could you quote the text on here... link is below: I knew my number was up when the boss handed me 42 shirt
  12. 100% win ratio for Luna. Best in the world. More open play goals from Luna in 1 match than Bannan in 61... and from a deeper position. I tell you what, as Bannan is the best player in the world, and we have 25 players in our squad better than him, there is no reason why we shouldn't be winning the Premier League this season.
  13. I knew this is what you were going write!!! haha! You are so deluded it is hilarious! He's shit mate. Always has been, always will be.
  14. Manure would miss Van Persie too. It's life! They have a fairly good reserve team striker though!!!
  15. Plus Bannan would have had a successful cross marked against his name for Con's stats...
  16. If only Bannan was on the pitch to take the corner the ball would have been comfortably in Harts hands instead of the back of the goal.
  17. At least we have a chance of winning the match now...
  18. Not in the starting 11. Not surprised at all... he didn't do enough against Croatia to deserve a starting place. Let's see if we see him at all this evening... I still don't think we will.
  19. I'm not sure Carroll's 7 goals kept West Ham in the £100m+ Premier League unlike Bent's 21... Bent was bought in to do a job and he did an awesome job of keeping us in the league. There is no doubt we would have been relegated had he not joined and so he has paid for himself many times over. Good luck to him... never complained once last season. Quality player, good attitude and was good business at the time.
  20. People are talking in this thread as if he has a chance of getting playing time this evening. I'm not convinced we will see him.
  21. Never a foul in a million years. If you look you'll see the Malaga player looks to barge Benteke at the same rate as Benteke barges him. Just because a weak defender decided to go toe to toe with the strongest player in the Premiership doesn't make it a foul. He had control of the ball right from the start and it's fair play.
  22. that the only game you saw in them 5 seasons Not entitled to an opinion you disagree with? Sorry God.
  23. The article is incredibly biased and wrong in so many places. For example, his last game wasn't QPR it was Liverpool. He was dire in the games building up to Reading and QPR. Against these two teams we won with him having no impact on proceedings other than adding confusion for the QPR goal. The next game against Liverpool he was truly woeful. The single worst Villa performance all season if not 5 seasons. He put Suarez clean through on goal twice and his passing constantly went astray. He hasn't been seen again since and rightly so.
  24. We have 3 players coming through the youth team who are even better than the best crosser in the PL and better than a player who will be worth £20m in a year and will have the pick of any club in the world? Well, if this is true, I expect Villa to be dominating the global world in the next few years and if it doesn't happen that we can say once and for all Con knows absolutely nothing about footballers talent... as if there is any doubt anyway.
