  1. I'm not actually convinced O'Neill is responsible for Milner's development to be honest, I think that is down to Milner. All O'Neill is responsible for is giving him a better stage and a chance to play in the middle the rest is down to the player himself who is supposed to be one of the most dedicated players around.

Disagree entirely, he's never shown the sort of consistency he showed last season, if you can't accept that it's likely to have something to do with the manager then you're blinded by your own opinions on said manager.

  2. MacArthur looks like signing for Wigan. More good business by them. They really are one of shrewdest teams in the league with their signings

Jordi Gomez, Jason Scotland, Gary Caldwell, Marcelo Moreno, Scott Sinclair, Ben Watson, Steve Gohouri all disprove this theory

not all bargains pay-off and 3 of them were loan signings.

What about N'Zogbia, Palacios, Valencia, Bullard, Rodallega, Figueroa even Bramble all bought for peanuts and became solid premier league players or better

Valenica and Palacios have worked out really well for them, outside of those two though the rest are average at best.

I reckon you could find many teams that have been able to source two good players in what, 5 years?

    What complete and utter bollox

I love that we can consider O Neill as shit in the transfer market and yet Wigan, are considered shrewd.

I can't even be arsed to demonstrate how daft a comment that is.

  4. New shirt is £55 apparantly.

I'm not overly keen on it anyway, so it makes it easier to justify my decision to say sod it, not this year, for the first time for many, many years.

    Fecking hell!! That is steep!

Don't the club normall market them for around £45 only for the likes of Sports Direct to sell them for like £35?

I'll be honest, I normally get mine from Sports Direct, whilst I'd rather give the cash directly to the Villa I'm not prepared to pay £10 more for the pleasure.

  5. I can't honestly believe there are 45 odd people on here who have voted no.

I'm all for liberty etc but an instrument that on it's own has been proven to be louder than a chainsaw but with a more annoying noise should not be allowed anywhere near a football stadium. It worked in Africa because it's a very typical African instrument but I would be quite prone to shoving it up the users arse if it was near me.

  6. not at all the red works better on the black than white would.

Problem I have is with the tagline, it's shit. everything else is all good to me though.

    agreed

but how hard would have been for them to make it claret rather than red?

FxPro's logo is red which is why its red.

Also, claret on black is hardly going to stand out is it?

It's not as though they're likely to be happy about spending x amount of £ on a sponsorship deal that you can't even see from 40ft or further.....

  7. This does shed some light on the design on the new kit.

    http://tiny.cc/fuhxt

Petrov was speaking at the unveiling of Villa’s new home and away Nike playing kit and launch of new sponsors FxPro outside the ICC yesterday.

The strips have combined elements of the club’s rich history with new age technology.

Each shirt is made entirely from recycled polyester created from up to eight plastic water bottles.

The necks are a throwback to Villa’s 1957 FA Cup winning jerseys, while the chequered motif down the sides is based on the tiling in the nearby Barton Arms pub, which is rumoured to be the original inspiration for the club’s claret and blue colours.

Does go some way to explaining it.....no doubt now that there's proof of some form of thought process being involved there'll be a shift in opinions toward them......

  8. Be good if we were still in for him but after seeing mm say about mcgeady i dont see us going abroad again this year.

I just cant believe mon is gonna sign mcgeady and the price will over 10 million madness.

Some people may have said the same thing about Ash Young before we signed him......though I must admit I've been largely unimpressed with him each and every time I've seen him, which doesn't bode well

  9. I like em, guess I'm in the minority judging from the general consensus....

At least we genuinely have a 'new kit' to discuss and not just last years kit with a new bit of trim around the sleeve or a slightly altered collar........

  10. is it only me that thinks all the pictures of the strip on the website have been photoshopped ??? I'm sure i have seen all those poses before but in the old kit...still doesnt explain why they didnt do a Milner one....

Of course they are!! I didn't know it was in doubt!

They do it every year, take a couple of action shots/poses from the previous season and digitally change the kit, tis not rocket science!

I would suggest that they simply didn't do a Milner one because they cannot guarantee that he'll still be here. That's not to say that he's leaving but that there is a chance, which we all already know so it's hardly anything to worry about.

  11. Yeah in Centenary Square B'ham

sorry smart arse :) I just wanna see the damn kit !!! i bet it will end up being horrible now

Not sure Sky are screening the kit unveiling live this year.........

  12. yep I have got a son. But I buy him new clothes every year and his kit is always part of his birthday present?

The away kit isnt going to be orange is it? Please no?

    scaled.php?tn=0&server=194&filename=mmzz.jpg&xsize=640&ysize=640

Exactly, everyone buys new clobber every year anyway at some point, if you're gonna spunk money on clothes might as well be on Villa related clothing!!

Although I don't think it would hurt to lower the prices down to about £30 adult, £20 junior......that's a whole other conversation tho......

  13. the Trade Forex Like a Pro bit looks shit to me,i dont get why they have it there..

....perhaps due to it being Forex's company slogan and therefore something they're proud of......

  14. That's a little bit extreme Maradona10.

You've got to love the hysterics the summer transfer window creates, depsite there not having been a major Premier League transfer yet (maybe apart from Benayoun which was lined up before the end of last season anyway), Joe Cole not having even made his mind up yet where he wants to play, players still returning from holidays/world cup etc...despite all this we still have to panic don't we?

    It's mental.

  15. Fair point and up until the Distin agent renagued on the deal we weren't but changed our attention once MON was let down .

I also got the Defoe one wrong aswell !

To be fair MM I don't think you need to justify yourself to anyone.

No-one's perfect but if I were to ever place a bet following an ITK on here it would be from you.....awwww xox

    Amen to that, brother!

(^^ Not sure if you've heard, it's the new "this")

So I've heard......what was wrong with:

    '^^

    This'

Simple and effective if you ask me..........seems a bit of a fingerful to type out amen to that bruvva!

  17. also, at the end of the day loyalty is a two-way street as well............. id say across football there are a lot more players who are sold when they dont want to leave clubs as opposed players forcing moves........

Your comment regarding James Milner a few pages back is a disgrace imo

I thought it was fair. He has got a massive square jaw !!

You'll look pretty daft if he stays

How?? Look back through my posts, im not a fan of Milners and never will be - also, staying or going has no bearing on the squareness of his massive jaw

    What?!?

This has to be a wind-up! (the not rating him bit, he does have one seriously square jaw thing going on)
