Welcome to the Premier League 2017/18 VT prediction league, you can join in at any time during the tournament but please make sure you follow the instructions carefully. However, if you are just thinking about just playing for a single week, or are going to lose interest after a couple of weeks, then do us all a time saving favour and don't bother playing.

-- Why Premier League, Villa are in the Championship? --
We did the Championship last year and it was a slog. There are just too many mid-week games per season to keep up with, so it's back to the Premier League.

-- I see a Villa prediction, what gives? --
If Villa play in the Championship on the weekend of Premier League fixtures then I will include the Villa game as a bonus prediction. Getting the correct results for the Villa game will give you 2 points instead of 1, and the correct score will get you 4 points instead of 3.

-- Making a Prediction --

1. Head on over to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q0EQFXauzVahxeUprjXRBbVa_G4VEWKVYWt9Dzw4pec/edit#gid=1485397829
2. Make sure you are selecting the right sheet for the Gameweek (inactive sheets will be fully locked)
3. Find the first 'blank' entry with all scores set as '0-0' and 'ENTER YOUR NAME HERE' as the name
4. Green Cells are for you to enter stuff into, all other cells are not!
5. Fill in your predicted scores for each game
6. When entering your name, make sure it is EXACTLY the same as your VT name and that it doesn't have any erroneous spaces and is CaSe SeNsEtIvE
   Incorrectly entered names, even if it is just a space at the start or a capital letter, will result in tracking errors throughout the tournament
7. Once your prediction is complete, copy the cells within the dotted line and post them into this VT thread
   If you do not post the results correctly into this thread then your prediction will be ignored
8. Thread banter is encouraged!
9. Gameweek already started? No problem you can still play, just put the score for the games you have missed as N/A, e.g
   Fulham N/A - N/A Villa

• Generally I will try and post threads on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week, but this may slip at times. Just keep an eye on the forum and it'll be there before the games start.
• Gameweek matches will follow those as laid out on the Fantasy Football Fixtures Page let me know if I miss something due to a game being moved or postponed etc.

Another good week for Czechlad, with a surprise second place showing for Rodders imavillan is in third for the week as the only other person to get double points.

The overall table sees Myself and Daniel prop it up as the two people who have played all the gameweeks thus far. At the top Czechlad sees his lead jump up to 10 points with andykeenan in second, and imavillan right behind him in third.

Games start on Saturday September 9th at 12:30pm.

It's pretty trivial to send a text from "AstonVilla", and it would not be difficult to find the number used for ticketing etc to make it look official. It wouldn't surprise me if Villa did something this stupid, but my money is on it being a prank. 

Sky Sports just asked Bruce how you take Villa up. He couldn't answer the questions and just kept banging on about it being a big club and maybe he can make it five [times going up]. Says it all really.

Good point @chappy, I have edited the initial post to inform everyone. Same old Championship, always screwing us over, ha.

A great week from Czechlad with 17 points, new boy villakram opens his account with 14 points, then rubberman and andykeenan take 3rd and 4th with double digit points. A bit shit down the bottom of the table with four of us posting a pathetic 4 points.

So that decent week sees Czechlad jump into 1st position, Dem_C's reign of terror only lasted a week. andykeenan moves up from 4th to 3rd. The losers at the bottom (including myself) don't change one bit.

Premier League Games start on Saturday August 26th at 12:30pm but Villa kick things off in the bonus round on Friday at 7:45pm, so get your predictions in before then if you want full points!

Someone at AVFC legal agreed with the majority of us about Bruce, they quite clearly stated you can't do that in the FAQ

Dem_C kicks off the new season in style with 13 points. That cheeky chappy and imavillan are the only two others who hit double figures, with all of the top 3 contenders getting two scorelines bang on the money. Rodders was the only person to call a Villa loss but failed to guess the correct score. A poor start from myself, TheAuthority, and PaulC with the latter NOT posting his prediction into the thread, which if it happens again @PaulC your prediction will not be counted. You must paste it from the Google Sheet into the prediction thread on VT!

Games start on Saturday August 19th at 12:30pm, so get your predictions in before then.

I had no issues at all on my PC nor my phone (at the same time), i actually thought it was a decent launch. My only annoyance was the max resolution of 720p as opposed to 1080p for the full match replays.

The DRM to stop re-streaming tends to slow up Firefox too, but it's fine if you aren't doing much else.

... with audio. Which makes me wonder if my signup went wrong and I am just being given an audio feed? But then it looks like the full on video player, so hopefully the video actually starts soon :/

Edit: Now it has a counter counting down to kick off. It seems max resolution is 720p for live streams as opposed to 1080p for the full match replays... which kind sucks.

AVTV only exists for the streaming service now. All the previews, interviews, highlights etc are free on YouTube.
