I assume Leno and David Luiz will be absent for Arsenal versus us? (both got sent off versus Wolves - 2 x straight reds)

Is a slight irony that of all the teams they play next ,it is us with the best keeper they have had in years and they won't have Leno

I like Davis as a player, I know a lot of people want another back up striker but was thinking who could that be and who do other clubs have. I was looking at other clubs back up strikers. (im not an expert on the other clubs by the way)

Brighton- after Maupay they have Conolly and Welbeck

    Spurs- Bale??

    Leicester- Perez

    Newcastle- Caroll

West Ham -do they have one

    West Brom Robinson

    Arsenal - Nketier

    Palace Ayew

    Everton Tosun

    Southampton ??

    Leeds ??

    Wolves Silva

    Burnley Vydra

My point is as a back up striker I think Kienan is ok. I think we fans need to back up our back up striker.

All clubs you named I really would not like emulate, our goal has to be to push past these teams . Davis has had a lot of patience off the fans here and we all wish him well if he ends up leaving, but dream bigger mate , In my Wildest dreams didn't think we could be in the position we are , now let's push on

  3. So looks like we are going to be the first game in premier League next weekend against arsenal to have this trialed .

Think it's great that we have finally acknowledged this as a major problem in the game and fully support this to go ahead

What i would like to know is , what will be the punishment handed out to teams for trying to use this as an advantage ( Mr pep and Mr klopp trying to use this as a work around to use the extra sub that they have been crying out for. )???

I am a big follower of rugby union and it is worth googling bloodgate to see how teams attempt to use these type of rules to an advantage

  4. Think the answer is in the first post, keep hold of the players , most are young and are gonna improve dramatically in the years to come , Konsa is the one that is improving at the highest rate and might be hardest to hold onto, with sanson purchase I can see us reverting back to system we played on promotion where jack and sjm were playing as 8s , this time keep jack wide and sanson in his position

I've twisted nothing at all. He chose China over helping his team win the league, waiting 6 months and getting a move a top league.

I'm simply questioning his desire to play football at the best level he can. He chose China for 5 years. It says a lot. Was the Chinese league the best he thought he could do?

Only an assumption because I know very little about the guy and you could very well be right about all you have said but it wasn't black and white in the region at that time , tensions were very high with the invasion of Crimea

    My assumptions are based on these facts;

    • he rejected Shakhtar's request to help them until the end of the season,
    • spent 5 of his prime years in a League 2 standard league
    • would come with a huge signing on fee and wages
    • and is 31 years of age.

    That's why it's a no from me.

Henrik Larsson stayed in a poor league most of his career, wasn't actually till he was 32 that he left, won the champions League for Barca that year, possibly one of greatest attitudes I've seen in a footballer

    Supposedly linked with Alex Teixeira.

most likely bollocks but it’s another name 🤷‍♂️

If this guy is available on a free , plays on the left and down the middle , can't see why not . Reason we don't buy older players is the lack of a sell on value but if there free why not

  8. Was watching Man U and Liverpool game the other day , everytime thiago touched a ball the commutators would lose their #£&@, found myself comparing him to Mcginn , Mcginn passes the ball aswel and overall is more effective in the game, drives me crazy listening to these players and in no way am I saying he is not a great player but they get way more respect than Mcginn

They didn't get us relegated. Richards, Lescott, Bacuna and Cissokho did.

We lost our 2 best players. We adequately replaced one but for the other we needed more help than ayew got. He had sinclair as his support.

You can't argue that they successful with the time they had with us , they were part of the team that went down along with players u mentioned, I don't care what they do with another badge on them, the original point was the last french player that was successful with us,

And who was managing us during that period? And running the club? And dealing with settling players down? And who else played for us at the time?

exactly. Just because they were here during our worst period in recent memory, doesn’t mean they weren’t good players.

Possibly under this regime they might have been great but they weren't and like I said already yes they moved on and proved they were good players that wasn't in a villa shirt so who cares

I'd say we have a good recent history in signing French players. Veretout, Gueye and amavi all play for champions league teams.

They all got us relegated, I'm a villa fan not a champions League fan

Really didn’t see this one happening but does seem to be gathering pace. It’s a position we need to strengthen but wouldn’t have been my priority.

Don’t know anything about him as a player so no idea if any good or not although given our track record with French players I’m a little wary.

I was kind of in same mind set that it was further down our list, but when you look at the uncertainty over Luiz and city situation and the fact Barkley is looking like a no runner , it's probably a smart piece of business, on the French player situation with us I found myself trying to think back last decent french player we had and was back at ginola , must have overlooked a few
