1. Increase number of races to ridiculous amount
2. Make half the races street circuits
3. …..Profit?
Got to love these new American owners.

Of course. But it's irrational isn't it.
It's hard to dispel 25 years of disappointment using logic.
I look at our record under Emery and the points needed to secure Champions League and I know it's a very achievable, and to be honest now it's even a likely, target. But I can't help feeling a sense of dread after the last few games because performances have been poor.
We're villa fans. it's what we do
Totally agree. It doesn’t help when it feels like things literally couldn’t have gone any better over the last 12 months. Sooner or later we’re going to drop off unless we improve the team, just like Newcastle, it can’t last forever! Just hope we can hold out another 10-12 games until we’re assured of that top 4 spot.

They have 1-0 deficit home leg vs Boro in League Cup SF 3 days before. Hopefully that takes it out of them a bit.
You have to think that takes priority over our game so hopefully more of the fringe players start against us. No doubt we'll be trying to do the same.

He can barely get any minutes at Arsenal who are struggling at the moment for some creativity. Has been an unused sub 8 times and started once
The fact that we are even in the mix to take promising players off other top 4 rivals is great in my opinion. We were in the championship 4 years ago...
We have to accept we arent going to be taking the likes of Rice and Ogdegaard off them , this is our level and we are getting there slowly.

Smith Rowe be a poor signing and type we ahould be going away from. Signing the dregs of the sky 6 is how they stay in power as clubs like Everton stupidly overpay
I agree with that in principle but how can you call ESR the dregs? At worst he's an unknown qty after so much time off but he could be great for us.

Don’t have any issue with his defending ability, he’s just not as good as Konsa and obviously not as good with his passing as Torres but as number 3 of the centre back trio he’s definitely good enough.

no disrespect meant, but I just don’t give a shit about bad refereeing today. I would feel angry if we had lost. Our problems go beyond refs or VAR. I don’t know if it’s tactical stuff, or a lack of quality upfront. I suspect it’s the latter. I’m not positive Emery has the tools he needs to take that last step upward to the top of the league. We’re not conceding too many goals, and that’s great, but there’s a log-jam with scoring.
We all know Emery can work miracles with players, but there’s logically going to be a limit to that, too. I think we may have hit the limit.
Again, I’m not saying that the referee wasn’t annoying today, or even deeply concerning, but I just don’t think that should be our focus as a club in terms of going forward.
The problem is we’ve hit the ceiling with what’s possible with our first 11, nothing to do with Emery or his ceiling, he’s gotten the max out of this team. Even if we add a couple in Jan I wouldn’t expect too much improvement until next season and they would have to be real quality additions circa 50-60 million.
This season has to be about top 4 and nothing else. Forget winning the title it’s not going to happen, it’s starting to look like hanging onto top 4 is going to be an epic challenge.

We really miss Torres when he’s not available.
Don’t think we played too badly today just couldn’t quite overcome Dycheball but we were the better team I thought.
Really missing an alternative striker when Watkins isn’t firing. Diaby has massively gone off the boil aswell, first 10 games he looked a 50m player, not so sure anymore.

Steiner has left the Haas team then, but sad to see him go but you can’t blame them for trying something new.
In other news I’ve just discovered he’s Italian and not German?!

Do you mean that segment where he frequently berated Karl for having those offensive opinions? It wasn't Ricky ridiculing/marginalising those groups, he like many people just find humour in the shocking things that people say.
Not sure I agree, berating Karl was part of the act. It was his show and I’m sure he knew exactly what was going to be discussed, especially the planned Karl segments.

Gervais was doing a radio show in the late 90s and early 2000s where they had a feature called cheeky freak of the week and regularly laughed at all manner of things such as Chinese people and other cultural differences.
To be fair to him he hasn't really changed since before he was famous which i think would be his argument that he's not punching down, he's just doing comedian things. Whether you find them funny or offensive is entirely up to you.

Most of our defenders are closer to the half way line playing the offside trap, no wonder we've had no pens against

Cooper or Mowbray seem to be who the fans are calling for
Either would be great for them, Cooper especially.

Can’t really complain your balance has been thrown off when you’ve planted both feet and taken two steps before you drop. What is the point of VAR if they are giving that. Just ridiculous.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that going to gym or running is mainly for my mental wellbeing, weight loss and gain is 80% in the food you eat. An hour in the gym 3 times a week won’t touch the sides when coupled with a bad diet.
In doing dry January for the first time ever and hoping that eating right should get at least 8-10 pounds off as I feel like I’ve gained at least that over the last month.

It’s frustrating that the two players who were excellent towards the back end of last season - Moreno and Ramsey have both been incredibly rusty on return.
I assume we have no choice but to play Moreno in this match but I would defintkely be replacing Ramsey until he can get some match fitness back because he’s not done a lot in the games he has played.

Not sure Burnley are capable of putting 10 behind the ball so it’s the perfect game for us to get back on track.
This already feels like a massive game, anything other than a comfortable win and you’re really thinking the bubble has burst and who knows how we pull ourselves back together again.

Genuinely have no idea how this will play out. Hope Torres is back.

Have a good one all.
Just debating whether to make a 2nd cup of tea or open a French mini beer.

In fairness Arteta and Guardiola plus Klopp are a detestable bunch
So basically the entire top 4 apart from Emery . Kind of proving my point.

One thing I’m absolutely certain of in that Chelsea team is that sterling is absolutely crap. Can’t shoot, very selfish, barely ever any end product. He can basically dribble and that’s your lot.

There's an interesting chicken-and-egg aspect to this, though - does being a dickhead make you a better manager, or does success make other people more likely to perceive you as a dickhead?
100% the latter. We just hate winners in this country for some reason. It’s the same across all sports.
everyone loved Tim Henman but hated Murray, everyone loved Button but hated Hamilton. Every top 4 manager is a knob and every player a horrible word removed. Honestly it’s embarrassing at times.

Everything that was good about the first half of the season has dissapeared in the last month.
Watkins and Diaby anonymous, Moreno not driving forward down the line. No more retaining possession at the back and building up the field. We’re just hoofing it up the field and hoping for the best.
What’s our plan to actually win the game here?
