  1. Anybody who thinks we're weaker offensively want to bet we'll score fewer goals this year than last year? I would give you good odds that we'll score more this year.

Well yeah we had over half a season of Lamberts ultra defensive poopball.

  2. I am sorry to say this, but I don't like all this buying...Feels like something Tottenham and West Ham would do. Yes, the team is better, but being a supporter is being able to identify with players. Right now, all is left from a potential starting line up is Guzan, Gabby and Clark. If they are replaced with new players...well it does not feel like my team anymore.

Your team? Ohh the one that has been battling relegation for the past 3 seasons.

  3. Good luck you deserve a chance to get decent service, I just feel there's so much disrespect within the Liverpool fan base that you deserve better than them.

Going on about getting Higuain, Lacazette and Reus shows how deluded they are.

  4. Can't blame Richards that much, I mean Delph did put in that ridiculous release clause so he'd have an easy way out.

Delph seems like a weak person, not man enough to be honest and just telling people what they want to hear.

Edit: this is in response to vive la villa

I'm sure there are many reasons. Even so, does every player want to win things from the bench? No guarantee, but vastly more likely that he will be a fringe player there. Here, he's integral, without question. So I don't think it's even as simple as winning things. More satisfying as a player to bring up a struggling club or a bit part player in a successful club?

I disagree. Any player that feels he will be a bit part player at Man City when they are in for him shouldn't even be in the game. He has earned his move and will trust his own ability.

He will play and train alongside some of the best players in the world which will only help him improve as a player. He will also test himself against the best players in the world. Had he turned this move down I would have personally thought they guy not only had no balls and ambition but had also lost the plot.

I said previously that if they came in for him he was gone. But I didn't expect the 8M clause to be true. I admit that surprised me. But the naivety shown by fans to suggest he would turn down a move to Man City surprised me even more.

Also before you point to Rodwell and Sinclair, no way were that at the level Delph is at. They were both every poor Mancini signings and many said it at the time, Delph is now an established England International!!

We're speculating over motives, of course, so you're welcome to that interpretation. And we will certainly see how it turns out.

The one part here that I take issue with, is the part about ambition. Him staying here would not at all be a knock on his ambition. There many great things he can do for this club that, in many ways, are more ambitious. Further, if he plays in, say, 20 games next year, will the move be proof of his ambition?

If it ends with trophies I would say so. When he is an old man and showing his kids his medals I doubt he will say I wish I only had tales of my relegation battles for you instead kids.

Or he will be lying on his deathbed thinking what a lying sack of shit he was.

  6. i was worried about losing delph and benteke along with the other players that had left because i just do not think we will replace them with quality. i was worried about next season anyway but now im even more worried, i also think this will make benteke want to leave even more.

Benteke is off as soon as a club bids his release clause its just a matter of time, no matter if Delph stays or goes.

  7. Newcastle signing Mitrovic and Wijnaldum this weekend. Bloody hell.

We better get our skates on. Both of those players would have improved our team immensely.

We can't go for Wijnaldum his middle name is Emile, just isn't worth the risk.

  8. Richards is a good player and I think this is a good signing.

It's funny that we've gone from people moaning that we act like a a championship club, to spending what is now considered the going rate for an established Premier League player and people still find cause to complain.

Welcome to Villatalk. Enjoy your stay.

  9. It will be interesting to see who Sherwood signs if he is given the chance. Does he think we will be able to attract the same calibre players spurs can, or is he talking about finding the next Gareth Bale. I wouldn't dare give him a budget like MON had but perhaps around 20-25mll and see what he could do with that.

The problem with Sherwood he talks so much before he's even proved himself. He did save us from relegation so I feel he deserves a chance to rebuild Villa with or without Lerner.

  10. A winning mentality has to start from the top otherwise its pointless. We need a chairman with a vision and with the ability to take a loss at times to get anywhere near the top 6. The only people at the club who show they can achieve this is Sherwood, Delph, Benteke they definitely fit that mould at the current time. I think Okore and Grealish could achieve this also but this is simply not enough.

If we do indeed get sold I hope they keep Sherwood and let him mould a team. He really is our best chance of escaping this loop of despair.

  11.

todays game sums up exactly why he isnt good enough for top 4. and why the top teams wont spend that much on him. his link up play is "shocking"

he looks good for a team like us...wont look anywhere near as good for a top team

Why don't you watch the game again, everything into him was a cross from deep and he had to out jump Mertesacker every time. Clueless tactics if anything.

    nt everything.

Everytime he was in the box.

  13. They have a very low success with signing players who turn how to be good enough for top 4, most turn out to be tosh although they struck gold with Suarez those type of signing seems a minority.

They really are an odd set of supporters if they even doubt Benteke's quality he's been doing the business in the prem for 3 years even after an Achilles tendon injury.

It could be because we watch him every game and see what he does for our team and Liverpool don't tend to watch our games, so their opinions are based off word of mouth.
