  1. Is this guy going to return this year? Hes become just another problem with his injuries and seems to have helped reduce our purchasing power due to his high wages.

If we can get him back this year give him a run of games and try to ship him out in the summer unless he comes back with an appetite.

  2. A big money bid for Robert Snodgrass?? When has he ever been a big money player? I believe Norwich payed like 1.5mil for him and he's not done much in the premier league to warrant much more than that fee. We need to stay away from Norwich or else we will waste good money on mediocrity rather then small amounts.

  3.

In the last 3 January transfer windows we've signed.

Keane, Dawkins, holt and Bertrand all on loan.

    And signed Stevens and Sylla.

    That's pretty **** awful.

yes but I think it's fair to say that the intention has always been to do the majority of business in summer. McLeish spent big on N'Zogbia, Given & Hutton; while Lambert has brought in 7 or 8 in both of his summers.

in fact, throughout Lerner's reign the only times we've spent big in January are in Houllier's reign where Bent was signed to keep us up and O'Neill's first season with Carew and Young (as he had not had much time in the summer to buy players).

never expected us to spend much this January as we're not in a position that requires panic. suspect we'll see Hoolahan sign on deadline day: a relatively cheap addition and a couple of loans would be par for previous January windows.

    .

I think you're being too rational it's a transfer window and anything other than hysteria and outright rage are not allowed. So just to join this... I can't believe we haven't gone and got Pennant on a free can't we compete with the Job Centre!!!

If we take Pennant on loan from the Job Centre do we have to subsidise his jobseekers allowance?

  4. as for Guidetti if was permanent deal Id be happy with taking the risk but for a 6 month loan its best we stayed away as he can break down quite easy. am sure he missed a lot of time due to food he ate and he might not recover to level before it

What do you mean due to the food he ate?

  5.

Poor Guzan, not only is he bombarded every game and under pressure for 80% of the time, but he's now criticized for his distribution? Who's going to win them midfield arial battles? Westwood? Delph? KEA? His distribution is fine, problem is he usually gets more touches than our midfielders. Not only our goal keeper but the main playmaker too.

    His technique is OK.

I just think he should have noticed by now that when the guy he is aiming for (mostly Kozak) heads it down, there is nobody within 10 yards to pick it up, so it goes straight back to the opposition, which puts Guzan back under pressure within 10 seconds....

This is true, but it's not Guzan's fault, cause if he'd pass to someone closer to him he'd get the ball back within seconds, so eventually he'd need to hoof it.

True, he passes it to Luna, he gets out muscled and guzan is 1v1.

  6. I agree with most of that but would change -

Okore - Was good enough and quick enough to compensate for inexperience - Hit (can't blame lambert or him for the injury)

Vlaar - I rated this guy since he always made the difference in our defence when he played and a player we desperately need - Hit

Bacuna - Think he could be good in other positions, definitely no full back though - Undecided

Kozak - Main problem was buying Helenius AND Kozak, what is with that?? If the reported 4-5mil fee is true i would edge towards maybe a hit

Can't argue with the rest though.

  7.

Kozak has definitely grown on me. He looks awful in general play but comes alive in the area. Keep it up Libor!

He was very good in general play when compared to Benteke's recent performances.

Maybe but i'm not going to knock Benteke. He kept us in the league last season so if anyone's earned a bit of backing/faith during a lean spell it's him.

All players deserve backing from their supporters.

    Yes they do.

I think that transfer request has led to some people quickly jumping on his poor form and singling him out.

Very very poor again today. He doesn't look half the player from last season. Doesn't look a threat at all and I don't buy the argument about not playing in his preferred position. He's playing the same role as last season.

He's got the traits of the next Luke Moore for me, worryingly...

    Its not what Lambert thought.

Lambert is backed into a corner, he can't publicly criticise young players it will destroy them but probably should give them a kick up the ass in private.
