Argyle!!! Amazing, cannot wait to see him at home park. He will tear it up, absolutely delighted to have the Devon/Villa link.

We've got quite a few now, mostly joining us after having been at Exeter. Then of course we have Tyrone Mings from the right side of the border.

Does that make me ITK...no but at least my sister got most of the info right utv!

I feel like most of these 'ITK' tweeters just rip from forums to add some credibility with a large part of the online fanbase to generate as much engagement as possible.

Is your sister the agent that told you?

Random thought I was having earlier.

I notice few Tories - vocal ones at least - on forums. Here, or reddit, for example.

Assuming that's the case, is that possibly because people who use forums lean towards valuing researched opinions, knowledge, logic, good faith discussions based on evidence.... things which generally lead people away from right wing ideology

....same why intellectuals and academics generally tend to lean to the left also?

Or is that just really patronising

They pop up now and again when there isn't quite so much unforgiveable behaviour to have to justify or ignore. There's still not normally that much substance, just a flippant remark about 'lefties' being unwashed and jobless.

Sunbathing pics on social media that are essentially just a picture of someone's feet on a sun lounger.

**** off, I don't want to look at your mangy toes whiles I'm eating my sandwich and scrolling.

I agree that feet ruin it. Completely rules it out for Hot Dogs or Legs.

It's like people were expecting us to sign Ferland Mendy as a back up left back or something.

I think it's more that a back up left back on loan just isn't particularly exciting, however sensible a signing.

I don't remember anyone going mad with excitement when Olsen signed on loan in January either.

  6. As someone else alluded to before, one of the things that has impressed me most about Digne is how willingly he has bought into the club and seemingly instantly become an influential figure in the squad.

If we get in another midfielder there must be some outgoing, I'd say the following week be kept

    Nakamba/Kamara

    New mid/Luiz

    JJ/Chuck

    Coutinho/Bailey

    Buendia/Traore

So offloading McGinn, Sanson, Tim (loan)

I don't think there is any chance we sell McGinn.

I'm not trying to do any such thing. I simply quoted you quoting somebody else to explain to them what you thought another person meant by what they posted said, and I responded directly to your comment that he's a "stat padder."

    👍

Gallagher scored twice in a 2-2 draw against West Ham. He scored twice in a 3-1 win over Everton. He scored and assisted in a 2-0 win against Man City. He scored in a 2-0 win over Wolves. He scored Palace's lone goal in a 1-1 draw at Brighton. And he scored a goal in a 4-1 win over Watford.

Lord how I'd love somebody to pad stats like that in a Villa shirt.

I'm not here to argue he's the second coming of Christ, but people just come on here and say things just to say them sometimes.

Then argue it out with the person who made the post and turn it into another 3 day hyperbole competition as I don't really care to be involved in the debate.

By this time tomorrow, he'll be a left footed Mustafa Salifou.

He's been getting shitter by the hour on here today.

I get that some people think he's " over rated " , but how far do we have to go to prove points?

Hourihane just signed for a League 1 side ffs.

I think he means a stat padder that doesn't take hold of a game, not they have identical levels of ability.

Gerrard would like him. He's a 100% whistle to whistle player, with a decent bit of pace and wants to attack and cross the ball. Whether he's ultimately got the ability to do what the manager wants reliably, or whether he's prepared to be a backup, second XI guy, is to be discovered.

I like him, I'd keep him here if he wants to stay. Cash is the kind of player that's going to miss a few games through suspensions or the odd niggle, and we need a squad that isn't **** over if a first choice player is missing. Guilbert can be useful.

Cash has one recorded career injury that caused him to miss games and that was a broken foot! That obviously won't last forever, but the evidence so far suggests he is very much not the type of player to frequently miss games because of niggling injuries.

How long until these are going to be readily available*?!

Is there still an issue with supply of components, or is it simply keeping them scarce so the price stays high?

    *and hopefully a bit cheaper

Thanks @Stevo985, was wondering where this post went! Was meant for the PS5 thread.

    Why?

Several weeks after a player leaving them doing a conference is pretty alien to me too. I've burnt most players out of my consciousness a day or two after they leave and I imagine most English fans are the same.

Same, i like hearing opposing views it educates you and gives you another way to look at things.  😃

I openly admit to not being a expert in any capacity about the subject of transgenders so if i offend anyone its not intentional. I just dip in time to time as its a interesting subject

I definitely have my opinions on the matter that would offend people, but I don't think they'd add anything to the conversation so I keep them to myself.

I'm a lot less PC than a lot of people I've debated with on here would probably believe. I'm just generally happy to let others live their life, regardless of my personal views on a topic.

Apologies if I was a little short with you earlier. I meant nothing by it, I can be a little abrupt and I appreciate flippant comments translate better in person than over the internet!

I think we need to demand more from the club.

It's not good enough to bring in good players that make us instantly stronger.

These acquisitions must be made steadily through the window ao that fans have something to cheer for, say weekly.

I've posted about this before. I wish it didn't, but how efficient we are in the market definitely makes me more impatient.

Yeah, I'm pro European Irish. But of course pigeon hole anything you don't like with a group of people you can easily identify.  🤣

I know plenty of pro-EU bigots. You shouldn't let your nationality define you.

Thanks for the kind words about my post.  If you do ever stumble across Buzz's watch I'll give you £26 for it.

The price of watches is still inflated at the moment. That includes what I would call lower range luxury. Before COVID I could get a 1970s Omega in great condition for £700.  Now people want double that.  Novice sellers vastly over estimate the value of what they are selling.  That 150 year old pocket watch of grandad's isn't worth £10,000.  Its probably worth nothing.

I don't like sites like E-BAY.  I want to hold the watch in my hand. The only exception is where its a specialise site with verified dealers who offer no quibble returns.

Car boots, house clearance and charity shops can be fun. But these are the worst for overvaluing their items. When you offer the real value they think you are trying to rip them off.

I  are contact with any local jewelers who stocks second hand watches. That includes low end and high end.  Go, have a chat, see what's there.  They know that you aren't going to buy every time you go. But they will let you know if they get anything interesting.

But here is the best option.....antique dealers.  They are the perfect middle ground between car boots and jewellers. They know the rough value but rarely have the time or expertise to get it right all the time.  They also need turnover. Haggle.  If you see something you like but the price is too high, go back a month later. Make the same offer again.  And again.  And again.

Get yourself a tool for opening watch backs and a small magnifying glass. They aren't expensive. Open every watch you are interested in.  That Rolex case might have a Timex movement inside. If its a major brand, check the Internet for photos of the watch and the movement.  Do they match?

Find a decent watch repairer in your area. It might be worth buying a broken watch if you factor in repair.  It might just need a minor repair or service.  But find out the price of a typical service.

You're a gent, I really appreciate the effort you've gone to here.

I look at Britain, and at first my reaction with something like Boris's resignation is, what's the matter with Britain? Why have they messed up their country so much? How could they be so stupid to put someone like that in charge?

And then I look at MY country -- my other country, to be accurate, and I'm just like ... giphy.gif

There's still so much shitty behaviour being ignored and self-interest going on, but I must admit it is slightly reassuring to see the Conservatives aren't completely against drawing their own moral lines.

Its a good debate from what i can see

I guess the 1,000th time you find yourself reading the old 'you can't even be a straight, white man nowadays without having to apologise' it gets a little tiresome. Unfortunately, in the last few years, I've worked in hospitality environments that force me to listen to that kind of nonsense far too often so I have little patience for it.

I still really appreciate reading an opposing view coming from a place I'd not considered before and having to think about it.
