Wow.Just wondering if you ever have any positive thoughts towards our club ? Very strange

Is it meant to be a good thing?

Last year I was double charged for a game and when I emailed the club (several times) about it I was completely ignored and no refund offered.

They are creating a rod for their own back if they haven't vastly improved the offering to go along with the substantial price increases.

Good for those who don't have to worry about money at the moment and **** us whiny paupers I guess.

🤣 Stadium plans have nothing to do with FFP. Investing in the stadium will increase the value of the asset which is Aston Villa FC. So They're not "spending" £100m they're investing it to make them more money.

I'm sure I read that UEFA's proposed new iteration of FFP will include infrastructure and youth/women's team spending.

I’m not going to comment on the design until we see something more detailed.

What I do want to say is if both phases go through when we get to the end of the decade we will be in a better position to compete but I feel more crucially for the very long term future of the club we will have improved our perception amongst football fans and crucially new owners in the future.

There aren’t that many teams in the world with a stadium that large that is also modern.

The Doug Ellis and North stand are garbage as well so it can only be an improvement

Despite a few on here clearly not understanding the very simple point of a consultation, before we see more detailed plans is the perfect time to comment on the design!

This is really exciting stuff but for next season I wish they would just sort out service in the Doug Ellis upper. I like a half time pint but why do I have to leave 15 minutes before half time to have a chance of getting one and making second half? It’s shocking. Just pour them ready!

Annoyingly this seems to be a common theme across all stadia. You'd think the newer stadiums would manage it, but I've been to Wembley on a few occasions and never managed to get a pint before the 2nd half kicks off.

With Nelson and Jos as Max's father figures, it's almost a wonder that Max isn't even more of a prick than he is.

    Almost.

Didn't his dad beat his mother? I find it astonishing he even has a relationship with the man.

hearing isn't quite the same as living in it though. The government does a lot wrong and plays to its base (as most govts do) but in general are popular at home. Its not easy running a country of a billion people and having a free and fair electoral system. As I said the BJP aren't that popular down south compared to up north and so they play the Hindu card a lot admittedly. That said, I still find if difficult to find their actions similar to Russia for example.

No, of course. I don't have the time, means or inclination to live in each to form my own first hand opinion though!

I can only listen to those with that experience, like yourself. Most of my negative views come from a lovely lady I used to work with. To be fair it mostly sounded like local governments, albeit those of or linked with Modi's party.

  7. Sweet, we've even got the 'better fan' bullshit in here. The club has asked for people's opinions because they want them. If you think anything they do will be absolutely perfect and you, as a lowly serf, do not deserve an opinion then say that in the survey and blow some smoke up their arse. I'm sure you'll get a free lolly for it next time you visit.

I think the aesthetics of the Trinity are an absolute travesty so can completely understand caution.

Can do better than that - I live in India. Hindu nationalism is powerful and overbearing in many areas (not in the South) but I'm not sure the govt is comparable to those mentioned.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. All I know is I have heard plenty that fits the definition of reprehensible.

India's government is reprehensible? Given they are one of our most 'important' partners that were freely and democratically elected (in the world's largest democracy) I'm not sure how they can be descirbed as reprehensible?

Do some research on Hindu nationalism and what it has meant for minorities in the country over the last few years.

Nope, just don’t get how you can tell one player is better than another when one plays in the Premier League the other in the Austrian League.

They play for the same national team. One Bissouma didn't get into for 4 years before 2022 by the way!

He’s better than Bissouma who has been impressing in the Premier League because he has been ripping up the Austrian League?

    You even seen him play?

I think I’ll put my trust in our multi billionaire owners concerning the clubs finances.Speculating and worrying over player’s wages is totally futile and pointless. They don’t become billionaires by being careless with money.

If you really want to reduce it to such basic terms, then Nas became a billionaire by inheritance. Same as Randy Lerner.

Why not? He’s 21 and we’re a club with aspirations of Europe. He’d be one for the future. Where’s he going to go and automatically start?

He played in a European final this year at a club he automatically starts for.

All we have to do next season is stick bailey on his side and that would be enough ti cause some serious problems.

Targett is pretty useless against pacey players. Sarr absolutely obliterated him last season

He also pocketed Adama Traore at least once with very little help.

Matt Targett is a good defensive "full back", but he doesn't have anywhere near the pace to be the sharp attacking "wing back" that Gerrard needs for the way he sets Villa up. That's the reason he was replaced by Digne.

12/15 million is a good price for a player that doesn't fit our system.

    All the best Matt.

Agree about not having the athleticism to play the role. I do think he's a good crosser of the ball if he gets forward in space which is why someone like Grealish was perfect for him.
