  1. Just after saying "you'll be intrigued and excited" if it is Henry, yet it's all about anyone but Bruce. Not ONE person has said Henry is the man or their preferred choice, or that he would even be good. They've all said they'd be 'excited' which is what ermmmm........you said!!! ?
  2. The two don't have to be related as you make out. Again with this "anyone but Bruce" Narrative. Why can't it be I think our manager has failed over nearly 2 seasons and I would like a change in direction and I don't think Bruce is the main for that. If the new direction is a different style of football, we need a different type of manager. This is a new manager thread, yet you seem so objectionable to the discussions of a new manager. Maybe this isn't the thread for you ha!! If I could choose I'd like AVB, Oscar Garcia, Arteta, people of that ilk. Henry is the unknown and yes that excites me, It doesn't have to make sense to you. You've just said in your next post you'd be excited, so I don't see how it 'makes no sense' But hey ho!!
  3. You'll be excited? based on what though ?
  4. This is a good find. Looks like it was dug up by the new boys team. Shows they are on the ball hopefully.
  5. Appears like old mortgages and some clean up work being done with new owners advising/instructing. Clearly done their homework
  6. https://www.squirepattonboggs.com/en/news/2018/07/squire-patton-boggs-advises-on-investment-in-aston-villa-fc
  7. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00046572/filing-history More added. Includes Villa Park?? Whaaattt?
  8. That's how i read it. We were just over the 105m loss limit back then so complied (just) it was a different 3 year cycle. So now we can seemingly look to re-value the land and include that in FFP calculations. It has to happen obviously, but it 'appears' to be an option for new owners to explore.
  9. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00046572/filing-history Xia has paid off the loans he had against Villa assets. I'm guessing this is with part of the money injected by the investment. Good news.
  10. Really like Nathan Jones and I could get behind that if we're going in a different direction as I said above. There are a few people who I rate, yet have no idea if/what that can achieve. I'd be excited by a few people though
  11. Let me ask you Steve who YOU would take a chance on? You say you aren't a Bruce keeper, so therefore open to a new guy, so who would you get that's 'gettable' ?? Same question to those who would accept change but think the idea of Henry is absurd (I'm not having a pop here, I'd genuinely want to know other options of managers that we could get if new owners decide we need change?)
  12. This is hard work, but I'll try again. I don't know if he will do a good job anymore than you know he will do a bad one. I think you're putting everyone in your own shoes and assuming we all think the same as you. Maybe when you have a view on something it has to be with a caveat of being 'confident' it will have a good outcome. Sometimes you just HOPE. That's what hope is. I'm excited by the link and whether it's him or someone like Dean Smith or 'A other' it's all about hoping. I 'think' he would do a good job, but of course I can't be confident of that anymore than anyone can. We were told last year and the year before "Not even Pep could get this lot playing" etc etc!! It's all about opinions, is it cool to just disagree? I can want something without having to be confident or KNOW he will do a good job, you need a little more, that's ok. It is a gamble, all changes are (especially it would seem at Villa) I can't explain it better than that. I like the idea of a young modern coach with fresh ideas getting the job and taking us in a completely different direction. I'm ok staying in the Championship if we build a playing style that is mirrored throughout the club and we build slowly and do it over a few years. I simply don't want we've had the past two years. That for me is not how I want our clubs vision to be. I have no idea who will WORK and be a success, but I have a desire to have some excitement and I see Henry as that, Terry also (I was jealous of Lampard at Derby, I have no idea how he will do) So it's not anyone BUT Bruce, its a complete change club wide from what we have been doing and stand for over the last 10 years. So I don't get your view and you don't get mine, but I respect it and we'll have to agree to disagree, as I don't think you 'get it' that sheer blind hope for change and some excitement as a fan and that's not a criticism at all. I get that some fans are way more pragmatic. Bruce has failed for me. so I do want a new man. It doesn't have to be Henry for me, but I'd like it.
  13. A lot richer if you factor in both and Nasser family wealth too.
  14. Only Man City really. Our new guys combined wealth take us past Chelsea.
  15. Really enjoyed that thanks. If only we had a plan eh?!
  16. This is a really salient point, the new guys could simply say it is now worth 80m more and it then means we not only have ffp covered, but we have room to spend. Point being clever owners can circumvent the FFP. Good stuff
  17. Valid points and your opinion. I just object to anyone saying that someone else's opinion on wanting any manager means they KNOW he will succeed. I want Henry (if the link is true, which I doubt) As it's so different from anything we've had in the last (god knows how long) it's fresh, it excites me. I don't have a clue if it will work, but I'm willing for the club to take a chance. What I don't want is more of the same. Imagine Bruce minus Terry, Johnstone, Snodgrass and perhaps Chester and Jack and I can't face another season of that.
  18. Literally makes no sense bud. If you apply wanting something to 'knowing' it will be a good thing and work, that's just bonkers. Nobody knows if he will work, but some want to SEE if it does.
  19. There are different levels to the data room too (for those that don't know) it sounds like a game ha!! Level 1 access would be for those submitting an Expression of interest which would in essence be a brief overview. I was privvy to a stage 1 set of info when RL sold. As Omariqy said these guys people have had a good look around, but yeah there is nothing like actually being on the inside and taking a proper look and talking to people. They'll learn loads in the days and weeks to come.
  20. They do, its at promotion. My point was if they wanted to, they could offer him more to get rid early (in plain English so there isn't any confusion) I'm also sure if they wanted to they could make it very known he has nothing to offer and will have no control and he may then want to leave early. There are all types of scenarios where by Xia goes.
  21. 1) It was going into Admin had a deal not been done Friday. (I don't get what you're really saying in point 1) 2) Yes I did say that and you duly interpreted it how you did. A 'sweetener' would be considered by most as a good thing and that's how I meant it. Offer him enough to entice him to sell. You took it to mean something bad as your next line was I hate Xia. You really ought to ask for clarification over assuming.
  22. Matt Scott. He's on Talksport today talking Villa at 12:30
  23. Again, I've not seen a single post where people are confident he would work. More excited by a change in direction, unless you can show me otherwise?
  24. Saying it's a Huge Gamble loads, doesn't make it any more of a huge gamble. Any manager now will be a huge gamble. I wonder if people would be reacting so vehemently if it were Lampard or Terry? I think people are focusing too much on the fact we think he's a name. I'd have loved any of those 3. I'd also of been happy to give Smith a go or the guy from Luton. We desperately need change, like we did off the field, we need it on it too imo
