    Delfouneso was the same. Didn’t he break like every academy record??

    Delfouneso actually was very good at the time though. I remember he was top scorer at the Euro U19 championship, and that was while he was playing for the age group above. Didn't kick on in senior football after initially looking very promising in the UEFA/domestic cups sadly. RHM on the other hand is clearly gash

    Richards was an absolute atrocity of a player. I remember us losing 3-1 against Luton and thinking Micah Richards, on £60,000 a week, was playing like an 8 year-old.

    The defending for their second and third goals was so bad it’s funny to watch.

    I'm not saying Richards was good by any means (he was poor), but we've had worse defenders IMO. I clicked on a random page of his thread during the relegation season (before he had a run-in with fans vs Wycombe), and he was seen as one of our better players (not saying much admittedly)

    You lost me at Alan Hutton, if he is your worst right back I suggest you go back and watch some of our matches again.

    He gets a reprieve purely on the worldie he scored against the scum.

    Without even thinking hard about it you could put Richards there.

    Nah Hutton was total shite, even in the Championship. Richards was poor, but it was mainly off-the-pitch matters that made everyone hate him and Lescott. On the pitch they were no worse than our other CBs in the relegation campaign (ie poor)

  4. Orjan Nyland - Calamitous from start to finish, bar the cup semi final vs Leicester;

    Alan Hutton - Bizarrely rated by many, largely appalling throughout his 8 seasons at the club

    Kortney Hause - I have better technique than him. Absolutely not a footballer

    Joe Bennett - Admittedly shoehorned in at CB, as we've had countless dreadful LBs

    Kieran Richardson - The worst of a horrendous bunch of LBs. Clearance off the line vs Liverpool the only good thing he did in his time at the club. Unsurprisingly, he barely played a minute's football after leaving us;

    Glenn Whelan - So many awful performances. Gained popularity towards the end for a dubious reputation of "doing the unseen work". Watching him over many years with ROI and Villa, most of his "seen" work was an eyesore. He's at the base of the diamond

    Danny Drinkwater - Danny takes his place in the engine room, playing box-to-box. He had the worst debut I've ever seen from a footballer including Ali Dia. Continued in a similar vein for all other appearances and then nutted Jota

    Steve Sidwell - No ability, and used to wind me up any time he was picked. Truly Shitwell

    Aleksandr Tonev (C) - In the Number 10 role is the worst player I've ever seen in the shirt. Had a front row seat for the friendly match vs Shamrock Rovers when he'd just joined. Genuinely looked like a lad from the crowd had run on and joined in. Went on to shoot miles wide every time he got the ball in any particular game. "Performance" against Norwich the worst thing (football-related or otherwise) I've ever seen. Also came on late vs Liverpool with us 0-1 down and really knocking on the door. We had one last free kick 40 yards out, which he proceeded to shoot with no run-up (inevitably into row Z). Also a racist bastard;

    Grant Holt - A proper man

    Jordan Bowery - Signed from League 2 (where he had a worse than 1-in-8) goalscoring record. Predictably went on to never score a goal for us

    Manager - Paul Lambert - Spoiled for choice here, but it's got to be Lambert. Absolutely dreadful "coach". Highlights include the 0-15 over Christmas, constantly humiliated by lower-league sides (including League 2 Bradford over 2 legs when an average Swansea awaited us in the cup final), regularly going 37 games without a goal, generally playing the most turgid shite imaginable before going to watch Pep's Bayern training and coming back with the idea of playing out from the back only to realize he was far too clueless to implement it, and making me want to hurl myself off the nearest bridge any time he spoke

    Dishonorable mentions

    Mark Bunn

    Andre Moreira

    Neil Taylor

    Richard Dunne (Behaviour as much as anything)

    James Collins (Ditto)

    Yacouba Sylla

    Mark Kinsella

    Birkir Bjarnason

    Scott Sinclair

    Yeah goalscorer is the wrong wording

    Games this week they've started with Ben yedder and giroud in game 1 and then coman and martial in game 2

    That ain't world class

    They don't have a number 9

    Yup, I would say there is a world class French number 9 (Benzema), but they don't pick him!

    Deschamps is the obvious one cos he's winning stuff but he's got a squad deeper than the whats it's face trench

    I'd say France haven't got a natural world class goal scorer and then it's your opinion on lloris but top 5 player in every position you'd throw a French bloke in there

    Chukwuemeka looks like a Grealish replica.

    Too early to say, but at 17 I have seen few players with such ability to carry the ball so quickly.

    If anyone wants to watch this live it is on the Burnley website and you can sign-up for a month free trial (which I will be cancelling immediately after the game).

    Chukwuemeka has impressed me the last few times I've seen him. Any chance of a brief review of the game/performances, mate?

    Philogene-Bidace has been called up to the England U19 squad alongside Kesler.

    Barry, Aaron Ramsey, and Chukwuemeka are in the U18s again, and Jacob Ramsey is with the U20s.

    England U20s are the only ones who have a game, which is apparently against Aston Villa on November 17th.

    Interesting. It seems that Kesler is playing up an age group so

    He shouldn't have been on the sideline when Adams crosses and Cash handball's because he's 1 v 2?

    Sbouldnt have left McGinn on their centre back for the first foal?

    He was pants.

    Madness to blame Mings for this. Our coaching staff have set us up with Mings minding a defensive zone at set pieces, along with Konsa, etc. This leaves some of our shorter players doing the man-marking. The coaches are to blame for organizational mistakes like McGinn being left to mark Vestergaard.

    You could maybe attribute a chunk of the blame to McGinn for not insisting that we change it after the first set piece (where Adams scored the disallowed goal, with McGinn again marking Vestergaard).

    typically late to the party but just finished season 1 of The Bridge (Swedish version) . Though it was excellent. Can anyone advise if the second and third season are worth watching - dont want to spoil the first one if they go downhill

    Yup! Fourth is great too

    The ball was played through the middle but Targett should've been further away from the middle to avoid being scapegoated for Mings not standing Salah up or even trying to put a block in?

    Or maybe he just could've been goal-side, or in line with the other defenders, or making some effort to mark Salah, given that he's Mo Salah and might be quite dangerous? Looks like you've already picked your scapegoat in Mings though 😉

    First half awful but Much better in the second half.
    defence was very dodgy overall and attack not much better but we have a fantastic midfield trio in Ramsey x2 and Chuk, with Chuk being the pick of the bunch today. Louie Barry did start showing as well before he went off injured. Hopefully the team will get better once our new signings are intergrated.

    Sadly couldn't watch today, so thanks for the report. From the stats I've seen, we had very little possession, so it's interesting to read that Chuk and the Ramseys played well. From what I've seen, they (along with Barry) are the ones who could make it from those who played tonight

    Not angry just laughing at rubbishing our players while suggesting we sign 35 year old who's been let go by a team in a joke league. Thanks for the chuckle

    Are you insane? Who did I rubbish? I literally said Targett wasn't "excellent", and said, from the afore-mentioned list of free agents, I wouldn't mind Clichy as a short-term upgrade on Taylor, and experienced competition for Targett. Hardly slaughtering him is it?!  Is everything ok at home?
