Was literally about to say, ahh but if John Percy had said it, then it would be okay. John Percy just confirms what’s about to be put out to the press officer 5 minutes later.
Fine. I'm just talking about accuracy/reliability

Ahh so we are diminishing his itk but are okay with hokey journalism that contradicts itself daily?
I'm diminishing ITK, yes, as it's 99% bollocks. Some journalists are cack, while others like John Percy are reputable

I had a look at that redditors profile searched through all his posts and couldn't see where he had mentioned Barkley at all unless calling him by a different name or has deleted the post. I also saw him saying that Smith wasn't the man to take us forward, which seemed strange for someone who's meant to be Shakespeare's son.
Besides Barkley was mentioned on here weeks before it happened as a possible signing.
Before we signed Barkley it was reported that we wanted either him or Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea. Traore had also been linked for quite a while before being finalized

Came on in the second half against us today and looked really good
Should've had at least one pen!

Loan! Was good at Nice last season

I'll be so surprised if we accept a bid without it being a clause.
Big misreading of what it'll do to the atmosphere of VP with fans on the way back. It could become a place the players hate playing incredibly quickly, especially with two winnable games first up.
I'm certain we could hold off until January or even next summer and he'll still be worth £150m, like he is right now. Plus starting the season with him means we'll likely be a much better and sitting in the top 6 or 7 from the off.
We're throwing a huge anchor into the ground.
I'm concerned.
There's a clause/agreement

Why are journalists so thin skinned?
Ask a journalist

Nah, I can formulate coherent sentences

People can say how good he's been for us and thanks for all he's done but this is leaving us in the lurch massively. 5 year deal signed last season believes in the project, my city my club. Total bollocks. This is as bad or worse than Delph and up there with MON walking out. I'll be just about done with the PL. City financial frauds getting away with murder and nothing done about it.
Thought it was clickbait bollocks?

How can they pay it? Guardiola was asked about Jack last season and he said he's a great player but they cannot afford him. So, how can they now afford him?
That's a story for another day!

There was no bid to make us even think about it?
How was it advanced without a bid?
Believe shafts like Evans and Lee over Percy if you wish.
There's an amount (that City were aware of) that will get Jack. City know they can pay it, and have agreed terms with Jack. Yes, it was advanced

he said the deal was advanced. it wasn't. arguably it is now, but even that's debatable.
It blatantly was advanced

So we were in "advanced talks" 2 days before a preliminary bid was put in yeah?
Yes. You don't understand how transfer negotiations work, and jumped to false conclusions about a journalist who was correct

Would hate for smug ass Sam Lee's speculative nonsense to ultimately be vindicated.
It wasn't speculative nonsense. It was blatantly the truth. Fans are the biased ones to state the obvious

So Stan Collymore was just making up a load of cobblers it seems

Agreed, however, if Jack does go - any player is going to be a step down if viewed as a direct replacement
True, but the size of the step down is important!

Don't know an awful lot about Cantwell--anyone seen much of him?
A destitute man's Jack. Still a pretty good player but a massive step down

Percy also said we were close to appointing Henry as manager. Like with anything, let’s see how the club respond.
Just because we didn't hire Henry doesn't mean it wasn't close. You're massively in denial and it's childish. Let's just wait and see what happens

Hopefully we can hatch a plan to get Bailey, Buendia and Jack in the same team...
