I saw him walking by the North Stand before a game in our promotion season. I said “omomgod, bffftian little, worra lechend”….because I’d just taken a huge bite of a cheeseburger. He gave me a polite smile and did a double take because I had onion and mustard on my chin.

Perhaps one for the boring thread, but it’s weird that people said “on the holte” when it was terracing but would probably say “in the holte” now it’s seated.

Our new nursery manager has decided to start sending a weekly newsletter, and she really shouldn't have. She's an absolutely lovely woman, but she's basically illiterate. I admire the confidence of not understanding how to use punctuation; But including, plenty of it. Anyway?
We get daily updates and photos from nursery on the famly app. They're all lovely people and the updates we get now are much better, but we used to get things like..
"His had a good day. His had fun in garden. His ate he's toast. Well done"

Yeah I thought he played really well last night, was good to see.
It's crazy that at the age of 26, he has played 460 games, 346 of them top league appearances. There's a lot of experience there already and he could still have another 10 years in him.

Yet another Emery masterclass.
We set the tone, we frustrated them, clinical finishing, dominated the game, total control. Easy.

Yes yes, but boring.
If you’re bored 5 minutes in to watching Villa control a game away in Europe, I don’t know what to tell you.

We’ve been great so far, you bunch of moaners. Got it spot on.

The first words out of my 4 year old's mouth pretty much every morning for the last few weeks has been "Is it Halloween yet?". He loves dressing up, he's been wearing costumes all month already.
I'm not a fan and I've never been comfortable trick or treating, but the kids love it so I throw myself in. My wifes in a neigbour whatsapp group so we only go the houses that say they're doing it.

It seems insane to me that if Villa are playing away and we're not on TV, the only Villa fans in the UK who can legally watch that game are the few thousand who have managed to get a ticket.
This has been the case for 4 out of our 8 games so far this season. It's infuriating, what decade are we in?
I'm sick and tired of dicking about with dodgy streams, I'll happily pay a tenner per game to be honest.

Me doing a blind taste test of Madri, Carling, Fosters, Peroni, Carlsberg, Heineken, Stella, Amstell, Estrella and Becks.
All beer tastes like piss.

I thought of something on Amazon to get one of my boys for Christmas today. At the checkout it said that “order within the next 1hr and 25 minutes to get it today” message and I got the confirmation email saying it would be delivered before 10pm.
I felt guilty when the guy was knocking my door just now, standing there in the pouring rain. There was absolutely no need for the rush or for it to be delivered at this time of night, it’s only going to be hiding in my garage for two months now.

The thing about the new crest is that there's no need to worry if you don't like it, there'll be a new one for the 2025/26 season anyway.

Anybody know what Will Smith’s wife/ex-wife is up to these days? I feel like we don’t hear enough about her or her private life.

Mesh systems work really well. We've had our house rewired so had it networked at the same time, but before that we used a few Deco tp-links, and they were more than adequate. We've got an old house with really thick stone walls, and they worked fine. All the Decos are just in a drawer now, so if you'd like to try a couple, PM me your details and I'll post them off to you.
Ah that’s really kind of you, thank you! I should be alright though, my brother in law is coming round this weekend and he says he’s got something for me to try (it might be decos!). If it fails, I might come back annoying you

Don't make fun of the multi multi millionaire who spends a large portion of his time smoking, drinking and shagging prostitutes for looking a bit ropey. The middle aged white male millionaire is one of the most persecuted people out there.
You’re right, I’ll check how much money someone earns before I call them fat and ugly next time. Makes sense.

Please be gentle with me, I have very little knowledge of these things.
Our wifi doesn't reach my home office and son's bedroom upstairs, but the previous owner installed 2 ethernet wall sockets. So downstairs, I've got an ethernet cable from my modem in to the wall socket in the living room and I plug my laptop in to the other wall socket in the office and it works perfectly.
But in terms of getting wifi extended to the dead spots, would I need to get a mesh system like that's already been discussed in this thread, or is there something I can buy to plug in to the wall socket upstairs to extend my wifi?

Also, not to be too precious, but I'm the same age as him and look basically pretty similar.
That has honestly got ABSOLUTELY nothing to with why I’m complaining…

Unpopular opinion, but I think it’s pretty grim the way everyone’s talking about Rooney’s appearance.

Everyone thought it was a clear penalty for the push on Watkins.
Do you listen to My New Football Club with David Earl? It's made me look out for Exeter's results.
To make this on topic, Ollie Watkins gets mentioned quite often.

Nah, this office is much more mature and professional. I don't think people would appreciate it if started flicking elastic bands around the place.

Some strange connections between children being fussy eaters and their parents political persuasion, but anyway, it’s something I want to be careful with my boys about.
I was a fussy eater as a kid and I didn’t have a big appetite, but I’d be forced to sit at the table until everything on my plate was eaten otherwise I’d be wasting food, there were “starving kids in Africa”, “you don’t know you’re born, we ate what we were given when we were young!” and all that bollocks.
It gave me an unhealthily relationship with food, I dreaded every meal time and I didn’t touch a green vegetable until was about 19.
So we pander to my kids and we feed them what they like. I don’t force them to anything they don’t want to. They might try new things and tell us whether they like they or not. If they don’t, they might try it again a few months later and they might like it when their tastebuds have changed.
If that makes me a shitty, lazy, woke, labour voting parent then so be it.
