Well, if no bids comes within the required period, then the supposed 'disaffected' shareholders will be pretty much in the place where they started. Sell, or don't sell. There'll be no better offer coming.

At the end of the day, Rothschilds have to vet the 'bid' (of which there is no such thing as yet) from AV06, and Rothschilds have to decide whether or not to recommend it to the board (based on the remit and guidleines for recommendations given them by Aston Villa). If they feel it is a better bid than Lerners, having recommended his bid (seemingly) on the strong basis of his plans for us, then surely it is a good thing for Villa. That all said, I still don't like the idea of faceless backers with a front man that will slip away upon completion. I trust that, if a bid comes in from AV06, then these backer will have to be named.

If Ellis wants to take the credit for getting MON, then He surelt has to take the 'credit' for getting rid of DOL. Ah feck it, we all know Ellis is responsible for how DOL left, don't we?

If any money for players comes before a takeover is announced, I think we could begin to worry.

I only ask for net spend as it's easy to spend 7 mil on a player when you've just sold one for 12 for instance. I want to know whether the club is really investing in its future.

As I said before, when the land sale fell through, so did any real possibility of 'significant' funds. I for one will be amazed if the Baros deal actually happens. I wonder who we might spend the Baros money on next year :winkold:
