  1. Im not overly worried until the summer. when we get past 2 years remaining however the ball starts to fall in the players court a lot more. Theres big clubs out there without a decent striker who will pay £40=50 for him in the summer.

  2. My argument about Jack not being in my all time team i stand by, But i also think some are devaluing the player he was. 19/20 and 2/3s of 20/21 he was superb and a real talisman. Its no coincidence we went backwards when he left i expected it as our record without his was abismal. My argument is purely he didn't do that for long enough in the top division.

You can look at goals and man of the match winners but i watched those games. He had an impact whether teams doubled up on him or he just carried the ball forward winning free kicks. I know its all about opinions and i stand by mine, but im not rewriting history to back my argument.

So with Konsa rather swiftly signing a new contract, what is the hold up with Ollie, which has allegedly been on the cards for several months?

He would have a lot more offers in the open market.

I mean even someone with a tiny brain would surely ask the following question.

If you can hit net zero by 2050 without these things.......why were you looking to do them in the first place?

After listening to The News Agents the guest they had on said the 2030 was to have a jump on investment ahead of the EU, hence why so many companies are pretty pissed off right now.

  5. I dont really get the argument on what was the bigger news, or for how long. The scholfield one went on quite a bit, the Huw Edwards story was bigger for a while mainly based on speculation when the full story came out it went quite quickly. But i guess its sometimes your own perception of the story and the news agenda as this net zero story will drop the Brand story way down the news agenda.

Sometimes stories just last longer because there's no other major stories coming along.

A bit niche and a bit retro here, and it’s 15 or so years after the fact (but I’m reminded of it following a clip of a certain “comedian” on the show that I saw today).

I never thought it was that unreasonable for Preston to walk off Never mind the Buzzcocks at the point he did.

The show and Simon Amstel in particular would take the piss, fair enough, he knows that going in. I think it’s a different thing when the subject of ridicule is not the guest but the guest’s then partner.

It really feels to me Amstel was punching down on someone who isn’t even there and I think that’s what got under Preston’s skin. The joke starts off as “Haha your band is a bit crap and you were on Big Brother”, but it then becomes more “Haha your wife is a bit of thicko pleb, she thinks the Daily Mail is posh”.

Preston may well be a bit of a dick and he may have walked off anyway. But the point at which he did, for me was fairly understandable.

Definitely not unreasonable, but a silly booking all the same.

During his final season with us not a single person on this forum would have said Grealish was below Young

Thats because Grealish's Villa story had not finished. But judge what they achieved at the club while here, Young was absolutely a better player over his time here...Jack just shone brighter for 2 thirds of a season behind closed doors.

If Watkins had of missed the ones Haaland missed last night.....he would have got howlers.

we are the 5th best scorers in the league......and the same as the bottom club at conceding.

I suggest, we look more at the back, than the front.

Exactly and especially defending set pieces.

18:30 Sunday night kickoff's live on TV under the new TV rights deal. Only a matter of time before there are no 3pm kickoffs on Saturday.

All none 3pm KOs next season will be televised i believe. Its an extra KO to spread them about i think. Its not the worst KO in my opinion.

apart from the alleged non-consensual sexual assault, absolutely nothing

Legally yes...morally i would say its something people get "cancelled" for today.

I remember Peter Stringfellow getting lorded for it 30 years ago.

  11. Whether you liked what they did or agreed with what they said should ultimately mean absolutely nothing.

I remember a joke between me and my friends when all the Savile and other things came out is was "as long as its not Rolf" then it was we were gutted. We loved than man dam it.

But there's so much in the american right wing press about grooming. From teachers talking about gay and trans issues in sex education and drag artists and sam Smith being seen by kids, yet Russell Brand at 31 having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old is legal here so nothing to see here. He was getting her to read Lolita ffs

But in 2023 stereotyping, 'right wing' = uneducated working class, 'left wing' = educated middle class.

Its certainly not what i would class right wing or left wing. Maybe far right and far left. They're not the same imo. I think the majority of the cubs in the country have a section of far right fans and probably far left, but other than posh ive only really thought as Villa as pretty a political.

This been in your drafts for a few weeks?

With the strength of the fellow top half clubs, I don't think 9th looks a bad season to be honest. Depends how we play and how much I enjoy watching us.

    PL is brutal.

Haha no im not on here a lot. Just something that come into my head. This is more player expectations rather than the club itself.

  14. I don't think many clubs have political leanings in this country. Maybe Liverpool for obvious reasons. To suggest Villa is a more right leaning club blatantly comes from them lot across the city to try and create this working class of the city vibe.

  15. I gave up my season ticket last season i could sort of see what was coming and it clashed we be buying a new property and my job changing. I went to 9 home games last season as compared to 13 the season before. Im less likely to go to games on sky. I dont seem to be able to buy a holte end ticket now, which makes me less likely to attend games as the experience is vastly different. Im quite disillusioned  with the club off the pitch tbh.
