  1. Quality game.

We've got some good players on the original database, Mellberg, Boateng, Merson, Ginola, and Dion Dublin.

Always start the season in the Intertoto Cup, and with the silver NTL away kit. You can pick up Kim Kallstrom for next to nothing, aswell as players like Stefan Selakovic, and Greek super keeper Chiotis.

  2. All this great shift stuff and he almost scored and he was "unlucky"

He didn't score and he hardly ever does. Get rid!

But that doesnt mean he didnt play well, he was one of our best players before he went off injured.

  3. I cannot fathom why people would want to get rid of Bent. I

t's almost as if people are saying that we wouldn't miss him much just in case he leaves so they can say well I wanted him to go anyway.

I don't think anyone wants us to get rid of him, but realise we may have teams knocking on our door with offers, and it may not be a bad idea to consider them, as the money would help us bring some more players in, we've got a goalscorer that can replace him in Agbonlahor, and he want to leave if it's some live Arsenal.

I'm sure i read somewhere than Lerner wants to clear the squad of overpaid rubbish, such as Beye, but once thats done, he's ready to reinvest in the side. However, that may just be rubbish, meaning there will be no money to spend, and if this was the case, selling Bent may not be a bad idea in the long run.

  4. Decided to buy it today since I saw the Limited Edition out for £25. I'm happy to actually have to learn a game, I've never played any of them enough, looking forward to the change of pace from MW3.

It's better than this years COD which i've given up with, all that game has gone to show, is how good Black Ops actually was (apart from iffy hit detection at times), how i regret trading that in!

Although be prepared to get frustrated with this, as you do get dumped into a team of gormless words removed from time to time, that are only interested in their kill death ratio, and not helping the team. But more often that not, it's really good, my game of the year on 360 anyway.

  5. We might not need to if Lerner has some money he's willing to dish out. However, i don't think he does, so it's something we could consider. Can't help but think it would be good in the long run, as the cash generated would help add some much need quality to the side. Gabby could move back upfront, he's been on form this year, and he'd score of some goals given the service. Either way, i think we might have someone knocking at our door for him. Ian Wright was on SSN the other day saying Arsenal need another goalscorer, someone for RVP to play off, Bent could be the one.

  6. Don't know what more he could have done today, picked best possible line-up, and went 4-4-2. Players have to shoulder responsibility, most of them are just not good enough.

How about he actually manages the team for once?

He keeps mentioning he will address the set plays in nearly every postmatch interview only to see the same shit in the next game happen.

Now either he is bullshitting that he will sort it out or he is incapable of managing.

This squad is very average but its not as shit as McLeish has it playing.

Good managers can get the best out of average players , bad managers can not.

It's not his fault our back four are useless, and others that should be marking are half asleep. These are experience well paid footballers, they should know what to do, they don't need AM to tell them.

    He signed Hutton.

its his decision to play Collins instead of Clark.

It is McLeish that keeps picking the same back four.

McLeish is on best part of £3 million a year to make such decisions. Its his job to manage them and if he can't get international footballers to defend a bloody set play correctly it is his fault.

Fair point RE his selection of defenders. I'd have Clark at left-back, because Warnock is rubbish.

  8. If we can get back what we paid, i'd sell, and i think we would. I think he's a quality player, and would rather he stayed, but we need money to sort the side out, and we've got Gabby who can be pushed back upfront, where he should be.

  9. Told Liverpool are interested but I'm only thinking its a rumour so far as I can't for the person who told. Were defo spending big for a Striker in Jan though I know that much.

They make us a decent offer, i'd sell, although the rumour is more than likely rubbish, as they've got enough fire power, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy, Kuyt can play upfront too.

Quality player, and i'd rather keep him, but we're short on money, and quality in midfield, meaning he's not getting service. It's a shame he couldn't have played in the team where we had Ashley Young, Milner, Petrov, and Downing. Use the money to buy some decent midfielders, and give the forward role back to Agbonlahor, who has been really good this year. Think he could score us plenty of goals.

  10. I'd love Mellberg to have scored in front of the Holte End, but i'll never forget him leaving to a standing ovation 5-1 up at home to the scum, he enjoyed that as much as us.

Definitely my favourite Villa player, stuck with us through the bad times when most would have jumped ship.

Hope he returns one day, possibly as coach, he was a quality defender, such a shame he spent his final days being played out of position at right-back, as he was a beast of a centre half.

  11. The Call of Duty games have never made it so the best guns unlock last. It is the best thing about their unlock system compared to Battlefield. You could argue that in a lot of Call of Duty games you get the best gun at level 1, certainly in COD4 (M16) and MW2 (UMP) and I feel the AK47 is in the game just because it has to be. Without a doubt it is the most iconic gun of all time, it has certainly changed the world more than any other gun and a lot of people see it as a symbol of freedom and rebellion. It also has some kind of effect on American audiences because they see it as the communists gun. I dont think you can have a military game without it, but I guess if IW make is below par then that is their way of encouraging the players to try one of the new weapons.

AK74u should be in this aswell, enjoyed using it in COD4 and BLOPS.

  12. That burst firing assault rifle thats like the famas in MW2 (Type55?), it's over powered.

I have lost more fights to that gun than any other on the game. It is an absolute monster and medium/long range and seems to outclass every sniper rife and the M16 by a ridiculous margin. Two bullet kill at close range too, so you dont even need a full burst of three bullets to connect.

The gun is a Chinese model QBZ-95 ("type 95" is a reference to the year it was designed, even if it does appear to be a fairly straight copy of the FAMAS. Lots of Chinese/Japanese weapons are given "type XX" names in their English translation for some reason)

Despite being one of the best assault rifles, i don't use it, i'm shit with burst firing rifles.

I use G36C, and striker shotgun, don't bother with anything else.

Why do they make the AK47 one of the latest assault rifle unlocks aswell? It was good in COD4, but crap in MW2, and having used it in the single player on this, it's still not very good, really difficult to control.

  13. I've got on a bit better over the weekend, although i've had to change the way i play, as you can't run and gun on this, i'm a bit more cautious now.

The game still has issues, namely the maps, most of them are too small.

That burst firing assault rifle thats like the famas in MW2 (Type55?), it's over powered

Javelin - this needs a vehicle lock-on? Why are people able to just randomly fire it?

Then the usuals, campers, quickscopers, and the game can be a bit heavy on killstreaks at times.

The game just feels full of little holes that little words removed will exploit, which make the game really frustrating to play at times, but then again, this is typical of all of the COD games, so nothing new really.

Although I'm not getting rid, as i need a half decent shooter to play online, some of the above shit needs to be stopped, and they need to put out some decent maps, preferably bigger than my back garden.

  14. I havent really had an extended session on it yet. It does appear to be MW2, part 2 though. Kill streaks seem weaker and there are a lot more flanking routes on every map as far as I can tell so camping up is more difficult as there are less places to do so. Mind you, with weaker kill streaks there is less incentive to camp to your rewards anyway.

So far I am enjoying it. I have had a few rage inducing deaths from things I considered bullshit, but hey, that's online gaming. I probably dont even notice when I get a lucky spawn or a ridiculously lucky kill on some other guy, but I am sure I get them every bit as often as I receive them. I did have my first "montage moment" earlier on too.

but I felt like a pro, even if it was only for a few seconds.

The killstreaks are the same as MW2, not a minute seems to go by without a chopper in the air raining down death. The kills you earn via your chopper etc, also count towards your streak, and push you closer to your next reward, so i think there is an incentive to camp.

This, coupled with the fact some of the maps are just too small, meaning whenever you break cover, you're likely to get shot in back, make the game a bit too much at times, it's constantly stop start stop start stop start...

  15. I'm still playing, but it really is rage inducing dog shit at times.

Some of the maps are terrible, so many people camping, the air is constantly filled with choppers and other bullshit.

It's not going to be long before this decends into the usual chav quickscoping camp fest, and the ****' idiots that make the game, give them the tools they need, every year.
