  1. I think some might have forgotten that this is actually a BETA, it's an early version of the game, the finished product will be much more polished.

I've only played briefly, but was impressed with what I played, definite day one purchase. It looks and sounds good, must look pretty special on pc. Hit detection in the games I played was spot on aswell, so roll on release day.

  2. XBOX? Did the fanbois win? Can a kids console ever actually be "cool"? Its jsut a PC without a keyboard for morons who can't do excel and would send a frag grenade at MS word.

PC gamers really are dickheads. Get over the fact you're no longer the favourite.

  3. On another note, I got this from Game (£42.99 for the standard game!) because I wanted to make some trade in's and they said they were doing 20% extra if you trade in for Fifa, but I still only got £19 for Deus Ex, Red Dead, Dragon Age and Pro Evo 2009. I'd have thought Deus EX should be at least £15 by itself. Crooks.

Which is why you should get the trade-in prices from CEX online, then take them to Gamestation and get them to price-match.

Or just take them to HMV instead, they do really good prices on trades, save you a lot of hassle. They've got an app called HMV replay, gives you their prices. They often do deals on new games aswell, trade in Gears of War 3, get FIFA11 for £4.99, that type of thing.

Plus, Gamestation always smells of sweaty teenagers.

  4. Slightly off topic, but whats the crack with installing games onto your hard-drive on XBox?

Your 360 is a lot quieter when playing games.

Cheers bud, how do you do it then? I assume you still need the disk to start the game?

Yea, put the game in your 360, it'll load up, but go straight back to the dashboard, then go to game library under my xbox, select the game, and then install to hard drive. It'll take about 10 minutes. You'll still have to put the game in your console when you want to play, but it'll be a lot quieter once you've installed, all you hear is a buzzing noise, like you do when you're at the dashboard.

  5. does anyone know how much you get for trading in 2010?

want to trade in a few more older games but will only be a couple of quid each.

want to get this but 2010 with a controller was so hard. do you need a wheel? does it make it way easier?

You'll get £11 in store credit from HMV for F1 2010, try them, i've found them to be quite good on price when trading in games.

The game would be better with a wheel, especially with cornering, but its comfortably playable with a controller with assists. However, start to tone down the assists, and i've found it a bit of a struggle.

  6. Anyone using a wheel? I'm using controller and have been playing on medium too.

Started with quick grand prix at Spa, medium difficulty but adjusted some of assists, and got slaughtered. Turned traction control down to medium, really struggled with cornering, as soon as you get back on the throttle, find yourself trying to save a spin all the time. First achievement i got was 'Have you tried DiRT3' which you're awarded with for drifting!

I've since changed back to the default medium difficulty setting, which has traction control on full, started career with Williams, got pole (about 1.24 got me pole) and won race, which isnt right, need to increase AI difficulty to counter the fact i've got quite a few assists on i think.

  7. Trolling hell, what a ridiculous thread to start before both games have even been released.

BC3 is supposed to be huge compared to BC2 so nobody knows what to expect. COD is expected to be the same, but it's been the same for the last 3 or 4 releases and each time it's been massive.

    Me? GOW3 ofcourse!

I'd say you were the one trolling coming out with stuff like that - GOW better than COD/BF, on your bike!

  8. Yea, i've played through GOW2, so i should have known what was coming to be fair, although i rented GOW2, but i've paid for this, hence the moaning :)

As i say, i don't know what the fuss is about with this series, Halo aswell, the PS3 has better exclusive shooters in Killzone 3 and Resistance 3.

  9. I've played some of the campaign and some mutliplayer, and i don't know what the fuss is about, really average shooter, better out there already. Moving about is really akward and reloading your gun is a pain in the arse unless you're right on the money. I'd rather get rid, but feel i have to make an effort now i've paid £36.99.

  10. Both different games, although i like both. More of an emphasis on work as a team in Battlefield, whereas you can go it alone in COD.

If i had to choose, i'd go COD, suits my style of play and easy to just pick up and play.

I'm quite suprise EA decided to launch Battlefield a week before COD, as a large chunk of the people playing will just drop it as soon as COD is released.
