As fans we are all nervous. Nervous probably doesn't even do our current emotional state justice.

The boys though, they have to be loving it. You grow up pretending to be in these type of matches. Honestly I'm envious, the level of focus matches like this give you can elevate your game to levels you didn't know you had (See our boy Trez).

We have the perfect opponent. Should have won the reverse fixture, no major injuries in the squad, and all to play for.

See everyone on the other side. UTV!!!

Do Wet Spam have any injuries? I thought that Bowen might be out?

  2. I’ve crunched the numbers, and assuming that a W,D,L has probability of 1/3 for each game and assuming that if Watford and us both Win or Lose then they don’t overturn the GD then 17/27 scenarios see us safe, 9/27 scenarios see Watford safe and 1/27 sees Bournemouth safe.. of course they are massive assumptions so the whole thing was a waste of time... #pointlesscalculations

  3. Wouldn't it make more sense for him to stay 1 year, continue to stand out so he gets in the national team, have a good season and Euros, then move to a champions league club?

If he moves to Liverpool, he might not hit the ground running, could be under a different manager by Jan, risk his spot in the national team as Belgium have some good strikers out there, then never get that champions league move??

  4. I wonder if there is yet another twist in this saga? I can't believe that someone would risk his place in the England setup for the extra cash? If they offered me double money then of course I would take it... Would make a difference to me... When you are already a multi-millionaire, then extra money wouldn't be as big of a motivating factor... Success would be sure, but only if you played a big part in it.... Do you think that Chelsea's office cleaner celebrated winning the league like the players did??

    What I said

  6. Dust starting to settle... He could be going for free this summer, signed a contract with what is a stupidly low release clause but I'm sure that was negotiated back and forth for hours and if it wasn't that figure I'm sure he wouldn't have signed and gone for £0 so no real blame on fox or Delph there, then he signs and him and our marketing team decide to do all the press releases about loyalty and it being his club, I assumed at the time that part of the contract negotiation was that he'd get the armband

His intention in January must have been to get the club some money this summer, which I haven't got a problem with, that's actually fairly decent of him, but then why ask for the armband? Why let our marketing team run wild with the press releases? Why do the video?

Our marketing team needs shooting, they're an embarrassment, not just this gaffe, not just that they released all the pics of him at the kit launch about 10 minutes after this broke on social media, it's the "big club" stuff on the kit launch which looked ridiculous at the time and now somehow looks even worse, the lambos lions, say it like sherwood, they are just like many elements of our club a **** shambles, and I don't mean the football side of it (which is but has vastly improved this year) I mean the website, AVTV, for a long time the ticket office

Now we have the marketing department making us look like a bunch of amateurs

Exactly this, what a laughing stock we have become. Clubs like West Brom are more attractive to a potential buyer..... How embarrassing!
How are west brom more attractive? Who they have signed over us?

Edit just noticed you said buyer... But rumours are we turned down the one in talks with them

Fair enough... But both them and Stoke have done better than us over the past few years.... Stoke ffs

  8. Yes, it is £8m we wouldn't have got if he hadn't signed a new deal, but to a fan, the money is worthless when yo compare it to the loyalty we thought he had that we've now lost.

I'd rather he went for nothing because the disappointment of being let down like this, by the club (who continually treat us as mugs) and the player who I though cared about the club like we do is far worse than not getting a low amount of money (in football terms)

This is how I feel... Angry too, at myself for believing that loyalty may still exist.. What a fuckweasal I am!

  9. Just really confused if City were the only team in for him at the reported 8 mil price tag.

Even if you didn't want him.. You could sign him and sell him a year later for double the money... The whole thing is bizarre?

  10. If the club knew that he was leaving, but decided to have him as captain in the kit launch, just to sell season tickets then this is shows you just how little the club care about the fans... We are the jokes of the premier league, we are a relegation waiting to happen, we a budget, support team just to provide opposition and players for the teams that matter, the ones the media wank over on a daily basis.. We are not credible anymore, so I can't invest, and for that reason... I'm out...

  11. It all seems a bit strange that he is fronting the new kit campaign if he knows full we that he is leaving. When do you think it was decided? Were the club aware that he was thinking of leaving? It just makes our club even more of a laughing stock! All players are replacable but the way this has happened, and the amount! Sterling for 50m?? Is he 6 times the player that Delph is?

I remember when Man City were playing against Lincoln City in the old 3rd division, now they're able to buy trophies... Look how far we have fallen behind...

Strangest move yet, to feature with the captains arm band...I guess you just have to with business as usual, difficult to strip the band before a deal is done right? I can only imagine the club weren't expecting him to leave so soon, but if this clause is true then that is naive.

Anyway, it's all about bums on seats...I'm sure the giving the impression that Delph was staying helped shift a few more season tickets.
