That's the balance, do we sit and wait or cash in and try to get something proven now. Feels like the strategy has shifted in this respect.
And for me, we sell him for £40m we need a better one for £50m
unless there’s a golden right back somewhere and their club is in incredible debt

He’s 24 so he’s got a couple of years to develop before he should be having seasons at the top of his game.
say 26-30 he could be in his prime and performing his best.
if we sell him before then we will likely see him perform brilliantly for whoever has him next imo.

So double the money then.
that’s very good then. Although he’s still our best right back even with the signings.
unless we have plans to get another in

I was trying to think of something smart to reply to your comment but I think it holds its own and doesn't need any commentary
Didnt we buy him for £25m? Or have I got confused with Buendia? Yeah thought cash was quite a bit of money.

For me we need to make solid money on our transfers. £30m isn’t a good ROI, we needs to be driving up player profits to bolster FFP.

Absolute joke. One of the best right backs in the league. £40m might buy half of him.

The flapper is the obvious place but it's rather basic shall we say.
The Victoria in John Bright Street used to hire out upstairs for bands. The Old Royal has a function room.
Revolucion De Cuba will rent out upstairs on certain nights.
Old Joint Stock has some large ish rooms upstairs, don't know if bands allowed though.
Same for Primitovo, not sure if they allow bands. Cosy club had a room too.
Depends on which night, how big and how posh really.
St Paul's House in St Paul's Square will rope off areas for functions but not sure about a band.
Actress and Bishop for bands too. A bit posher than The Flapper but still fairly indie.
Could also try The Distillery, I think they can have bands again now.
Thanks everyone, really good insight. I’ve enquired with Victoria and will look at some others.
I am having to move quite fast on this so need to try and get the detail nailed this week.
2-Jul is the date for a 40th birthday party. Hard as the live band need AV equipment provided which is an additional challenge but they are up and coming and bloody brilliant and it’s probably the only chance I’d have to do this before they’d go big big so will be a good surprise for the party.

Does anyone have intimate knowledge of venues in Birmingham city centre you can hire for live music?
im looking to book a party with a live band but no idea on pubs or venues you can book which allow live music to be played.
contacted two players and they say only a DJ or playlist can be used…

News websites which turn public individuals tweets into news articles.
and by public I don’t mean celebrity individuals…. Or members of the public with their own reasonable following…. I mean random members of the public who are just tweeting…
the worst one this week was Birmingham mail: “United are set transfer demands for McGinn”…..turns out its a random tweet by a fan saying £100m….. are you actually serious?

We won the first half,
Everton won the second half
thought it should have ended 1-1 based on the performance.
Ramsay and Buendia played really well today.
Mings was horrific, one of his worst games for us imo.
Gerrard subs largely made sense, felt it needed to be slightly earlier as Everton really took control of that second half.
ref I marked as poor, didn’t have that great a game. Missed some pretty clear corners, throws on both sides. Just a sloppy performance

On reflection it’s these games that define our season. We have a decent run for February, this is a tricky away fixture.
Assuming Newcastle beat Leeds, winning this game puts us 11 points clear of the drop and 10 points off what will likely be 8th.
A good February and we are just 2 wins away from the magic 40 with us very much looking up and not down.

He’s scored 20+ goals across all competitions 7 seasons in a row and has 9 so far this season. So this season he may only get 18-20 goals..
would still take that tbh surely?

Plus our networks of scouts clearly starting to pull in for us over the past few years.
yes some flops but not that many.

£15m barely buys you crap these days.

Spurs £15m for Traore, even as a villa fan I can tell Levy to do one for Wolves.
absolutely detest the guy, he’s quite possibly the stingiest chairman in the premier league.- 1

He’s been excellent this season for the most part. We need competition for places and our midfield and forwards now competing.
we don’t have that many injuries either so all it takes is a couple to be sidelined and we will be begging for signings.
SG has clear aspirations to win a domestic cup next year which means we need a squad where our fully fit bench is just as good.
if we sell El Ghazi and Trez for say a combined £20m not sure we will need to be throwing away good players unless clubs are willing to pay way over the odds.
for me McGinn is £50m his stats show that and he’s Scotland's player of the year and tbh the best they have.
so if United rock up with £60m fair enough, they won’t though. -
I’ve a Good Johnson
Icelandic legend Eiður Smári Guðjohnsen bids to become an MP in place of disgraced former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
This episode sees him visit a local football club and experience the wrath of the womens institute who aren’t happy with the Clubs approach to parking on their verges.

And tbh if the BBC went commercial then ITV and other commercial tv operations are screwed and I don’t think they’ve thought this through very well.
the BBC is the biggest tv brand in the world, and businesses will have a set budget.
with BBC1 and 2 having ads that’s a 40% increase in as space for two channels watched by a LOT of people.
companies will not increase their tv as budgets by 40%, the average price across tv slots will go down for all channels (everyone loses) OR companies pull spend from Sky and ITV and place with BBC.
Finally you’ll have BBC entering a market with all the shared learnings from targeted smart ads Sky have and just do it better, AAAAND they’ll pay above market salaries to pull the best talent in advertising and sales and just blow the competition wide open.
some May say “yeah but they won’t have done it before”
BBC world is the private business which sells their shows abroad and they already generate about 30% of ITV plc revenue and that’s the BBC barely trying.

As someone said here, if we want to pick and choose what we pay our fees and taxes for then there’s plenty more waste than not wanting to listen to bbc6 music because you’re a massive gammon.
they’ll happily vote for a party who have their mates multi millions in covid contracts and government NHS Contracts but they want to defund the bbc because they don’t play the national anthem every thirty seconds.
bloody livid with this government no wonder terrorism exists
