As the year draws to a close 2014 has to be considered one of the best years of Cinema in a long long time.

The best for me in no order:

Wolf of Wall Street - Not only brilliant but one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time.

Her - Truly superb. Film of the year for me.

Boyhood - Loved it. Went a little under the radar for some reason but justifies it's plaudits.

Dallas Buyers Club - This film was all about MM. Deserved his oscar.

NightCrawler - A must see.

Calvary - Best British / Irish film I have seen in a long time.

Locke - How can watching a welsh man talk about concrete be so mesmerising? Tom Hardy talking concrete that's how.

Gone Girl - The best villainous of the 00's.

The Grand Budapest hotel - Magnificent.

Best of the rest : Snowpiercer, Edge of Tomorrow, Dawn of the planet of Apes.

Cant think of much else?? Only disapointment is that it has been a disappointing year for foreign movies and Documentaries. Would be intrested in reading some recommendations.

Night Crawler - 9 out of 10. Loved it! One of the films of the year easily. Gyllenhall is just perfect in this type of role.

Added bonus was that the ending contained no stupid riverdance at the end or moronic jokes that idiots wet their pants at!...<sips tea>

It makes me laugh that all the media report on a few Israeli's being killed as a top story, yet when Gaza was getting pummelled daily (I've seen the videos), killing entire neighbourhoods it doesn't even get a mention.

I had no problem with the light hearted nature of the film. In fact I liked that about it.

But that dancing bit WAS **** stupid. It, like a lot of the humour in the film (imo), crossed the line between light hearted and just stupid.

That's cool, that's your opinion on the movie. But at no point did you liken it to a serious moment like "Luke I am your father" followed by Luke breakdancing. The movie was silly fun and some liked the dance or like me treated it like the miss jokes in Airplane, there were enough hits to make the overall ride lots of fun. How the film ends doesn't matter at all, it's all fun from start to finish.

The film has a talking Racoon, Batista and Chris Patt in it. How could it not be fun.

But yet I have seen posters on here comparing it to Star Wars and even seen one poster say it was 'better than Star Wars'!! That's some facked up shit.

But Star Wars is a kids movie. Imagine after Darth Vader telling Luke Skywalker he was his father, he then preceded to do a little breakdance.

I'll be serious now, it's one of the worst moments in cinema history for me. Never felt more insulted by a director then that. By leading me on in believing I was watching a half serious 6 out of 10 Sci-Fi, it was a real slap in the face and waste of my 2 hours mainly because of that stupid facking scene.

Just watched Guardians of the Galaxy. Complete shite. I quite like Chris Pratt so he bumps it up from a 4/10 to a 5/10. Really don't get what the fuss is about with this film. Just more superhero twaddle....

It was okay for the first hour. A solid 6/10 semi serious sci fi. After that it turned into a joke. To have a sci fi film that we was lead to believe was for adults then disrespect any sensible grown adult with that stupid dance at the end (you know which one) was bordering on outrageous. How any grown adult can laugh at this film either is beyond me.

3/10.

I enoyed Breaking Bad in the same way I enjoyed stuff like Elementary and Hannibal, I can't really understand how people put it up their with stuff like Sopranos and The Wire. It's got a slight daytime tv show feel for me, as time goes on I think people will look back on it less and less fondly.

Beginning of my sentence 'As great as...'. Of course I liked it. Before the last season I would have put it on par with dexter and Prison Break but the last season was that brilliant it deserves to be up there with Boardwalk Empire and GOT. However as its so unrealistic, bordering on bonkers and as I sais before there are many woeful epiosdes early on its not a patch on The Wire or Sopranos. Not a chance.

John Carew - Most over loved Villa player in my time. Had one good game in 10. Still would rather have him then shite like Kozak and Weimann but defo overrated.

Porshche's - They look a bit shit to me. If you have the money then why not pay the extra for a Ferrari or save money and get a better motor like an Audi. Stink of midlife crisis or hair salon owner.

Jay Z - He is awful and is pop not hip hop.

I was at a house party the weekend with Hungarians, Polish, French, Spanish and a Korean lad. All of them can't get over how many immigrants are in this country. Ironic but true.
