  1. From reading comments on VT, Ashley Westwood is by far our most under rated player. Now NZogbia has suddenly become our most overrated player.

Can count on one hand the amount of good games he has had the last 3 years. He was exceptional against West From. Other then that pretty abysmal. Personally hope to god he is gone in the summer. A serious waste of money and a big flop considering his price tag and reported wages. He was defo the worst player against Liverpool.

  2. Not sure why you guys with 10+ games and several cup games are worried. It took until the last few days to sell out 31,000 and this included guys with just 3 games and then 2 games EVER.

The game is expensive, comes close to the school holidays etc. Think you guys with 10 games and cup games won't have a problem. Its the chumps like me with 6 games and the semi final who face disappointment but even then given our low attendance's this year I still have some hope!

I'm still going to enter EVERY competition going offering final tickets.

  3. Best performance I've seen from Villa for a long time. Nothing more to say about the performance then what others have said really. Best atmosphere I've ever experienced by far. Had goosebumps after the final whistle at the incredible support.

What on earth was that Villa song they played before the game?? Have never heard it before and was embrassing compared to Liverpool's YNWA.

I drove to the game and parked at Wembley but saw tweets of pictures of hundreds of fans outside the train station at Snow Hill? and on the way back from Wembley. Was the train travel total chaos then?? Looked it looking at the queues.

  4. So many annoyances at my gym right now think im going to jack it in and workout at home.

This gigantic Polish guy is the ultimate machine hogger. So today I couldn't use the smith machine, the EZ bar or the pulldown machine because this roid headed clown is doing circuits on all the machines. No one dares say anything to him as he is a 6ft 5 roided monster.

Another guy just stares at himself in the mirror. Id understand if it was during sets but inbetween sets it's completely not normal to stare intensely at yourself with other people there.

Then the groups of lads who leave there fackin weights left all over the floor after they are finished.

  5. I think the role Sanchez plays for us is one which will always mean he'll be underrated by our own support. His specialism is man marking players out of games, collecting the ball from CBs and giving the ball to forward looking midfielders alongside him. These aren't traits which get you off your seat, and most of the time (ref: marking) go unnoticed. It's generally a case that if an opposition flair player has a quiet game, and Sanchez's name is seldom mentioned by a commentator...he's had a good game. But as football fans, we herald the Reo-Coker/Delph type player who we see running box-to-box and making hollywood tackles. He's the Roy Keane/Wise/Flamini/Lucas kind of player but without the leadership element. He will never play the sitting, possession based role of Westwood/Cleverly of old, nor the cut and thrust role of Delph. I thought he was fantastic yesterday.

He has the EASIEST role in the team. He has to win the ball and pass a simple ball to his teammate. Not rocket science. Yet he struggles to even pass it safely a few yards to a teammate. The guy is a clown and a positive from yesterday is that he is one less serious liability on Sunday. The sooner Westwood comes back the better.

Keane/Viera/Makelele were obviously on another level to Sanchez. However look at George Boateng. He played the DM role well for us (even though originally I beleive he was brough as an AM). Won the ball and despite being negative, did the simple passes well.

All this BS about Sanchez not having a preseason doesnt wash for me. You dont need a preseason to not be a liability with his passes and control on the ball like Sanchez is.

Westwood is far superior in every way then Sanchez.

  6. Missus wants to go to Prague, for either a long weekend Fri-Mon (probably June) or a week (July), I'd like to go for the long weekend and then go somewhere and just completely relax somewhere for a week in July. Can you do Prague in 3.5 days? Any other opinions on it welcome.

You could see most of the sites in Prague in 2 days tbh. Perfect for a long weekend but a week would be to way long there. Really is a beautiful city though. My 2nd favourite city in Europe after Vienna. AVOID being there Friday and Saturday though if you can and choose another 3 nights! If it's a romantic getaway with your missus doubt you want to share the experience with endless pissed up 'Stags'.

  7. Really pisses me off that I can only buy one ticket. I have been to 5 games, my mate only to 3. So obviously not going to go on my own, so have to wait until they are on general sale so we can buy together.

  8. Is it possible to do deadlifts on a smith machine??

My gym now only has a smiths machine along with dumbells and 3 benches. Quite like the smiths machine for bench press although it does give you bad habits but never attempted to do deadlifts on there and never seen anyone else attmept to do them on there.

  9. So I'm taking the plunge in december and heading to Las Vegas, now with the people coming with us we are going to need to take 2 cars, mayby even 3 and taking into account the petrol to get from where I live to Gatwick, its a 150mile drive and about £30 in fuel per car, plus parking at £51 per car I reckon on £165/£250 for fuel and parking

The train isn't an option because of the departure time & it would cost too much to stay over the night before so has anyone on here got any recommendations for a taxi or transfer company?

If you live in Birmingham then National Express coaches. Run 24 hours to Gatwick Airport every 30 mins to an hour.

  10. It's sort of becoming a bit of a joke, knowing that whenever I see your name in this thread, it's inevitable that you'll still be moaning about a job that you clearly hate.

You're a clever guy, leave the job tomorrow, sign up to an agency on a short term 3 month contract doing whatever, and look for jobs whilst you do it.

You'll be in work in no time. Do yourself a favour.

That sounds like the worst piece of advice I've ever read.

NEVER quit a job without another job lined up no matter how bad it is. I was always told that it is so much easier to get a job when in a job then when unemployed. I found this to be true. Quit my job to go travelling, came back and despite a degree and decent experience could not for the life of me get even an interview. After 2 and a bit months I finally managed to get a job and from then on the offers were rolling in.

I don't see why being in a job has anything to do with getting a new job. If Chindie dislikes his current job so much, and it helps give him time to properly look for other jobs, I'd quit.

Because it shows you're employable and the awkard questions such as why did you leave without another job to go to does not arise. Also if you are unemployed you are more desperate so are more likely to take any job on offer, as opposed to being able to be picky when in a job already.

  12. Lefties on here kidding themselves with lies and delusions as per usual. The women won the debate?!?! Hahaha got to be trolling surely. Good to know that the politics of the majority of VT off topic don't reflect the real world as the opinion polls prove.

Farage is rightly getting the plaudits right now despite the cringey HIV comments. Big night for Miliband however. Tonight could be the night Labour won the election potentially. Bad night for Cameron I thought although the opinion polls surprise me in that he got a decent reception. I thought he was woeful whilst Miliband was excellent.

  13. Farage has torn Cameron a new arsehole and after tonight expect more support for UKIP.

Clegg has shown how pathetic him and his party really are.

Bennett has again embrassed her party and is just pure car crash TV. Greens shown up for the hippy nutjobs they are.

Cameron looks defeated. Really bad night for him so far.

The winner so far has to be Milliband. He really has come trumps and connected with the voters.

I wonder if Farage considers Malala Yusafzai a health tourist?

Pakistan paid for her treatment so I doubt it.

  14. Do the Viagogo tickets count on your booking history?? I didnt think they would but my mate said they do which surprised me if true. Although in the ticket office they do promote Viagogo.

  15. Im intrigued to see who Sherwood will try and sign in the summer bearing in mind he has never signed a player as a manager before. IMO we need to sign at least 3-4 players good enough to be starters in the first 11 and a mini clear-out is needed as we have several players just not good enough for Aston Villa.

    Guzan

Hutton Clark New CB New LB

New RM Delph New CM Sinclair

    Benteke. New ST

    Out:

    Weimann - £3 million

    Vllar - £0

    NZogbia - £2 million

    Cissokho - £3 million

    Gardener - £1.5 million

    Bent -£0

  16. Did 20 km yesterday, i felt like a god afterwards, just the best feeling in the world

People who dont run, who are you ? and why dont you do it ?

It's truly boring though tbf. Honestly dont get how people enjoy running. Can think of alot more ways of getting fit whilst having fun such as playing football, squash, badminton, martial arts for example. Plus most of the runners you see in there tight running gear are usually middle aged or ovet. Cant help but think 'midlife crisis' when i see them. I've entered an 8 mile 'fun' run with a few lads from work. Dreading it. I'm pretty fit as go gym 3 times a week and then boxing and football once a week each. I run a mile and mentally im so bored I just cant be arsed to run more than a mile. Fair play to those who can do marathons, etc but personally it's not for me.

  17. Ahh lets not beat around the bush no more, he has had time to settle in now, he isn't very good and is an accident waiting to happen. He has cost us several goals already in the Hull game at home, QPR, Arsenal.

Always thought it was strange that he has only played for shite clubs like Elche previously and it's become obvious now. He is shite. Give me Westwood over Sanchez all day long.

He has a cool afro though!

  18. The reason there's so much hype about it is becase they're really just about the only 2 personalities in boxing right now with any mainstream impact. The sport is in a very bad way, and I don't think this fight will help inspire new fans.

Well over 80,000 fans at Froch v Groves suggests you're so so wrong.

  19. I'd take a draw !

Are you serious? Aston villa should always beat teams like Swansea. We're a much bigger club than them.

We're at home, anything other than a win is unacceptable.

We are certainly a bigger club then them but we are not however a better club then them right NOW. The league table does not lie. This is my third villa v swansea game and each time we have been played off the park.

If they play 3 in central midfielder I just pray we don't line up with a 4 4 2 formation as can honestly see us being played off the park again with the extra man they will have in the centre.

A draw would be fantastic tbh. Got a sneaky feeling we are going to lose today 2 - 1 but at least we will lose fighting under Tim.
