  1. ah The Mirror with the "throw enough shit and something will stick" approach
  2. anyone to get nigel infront of the back four.
  3. it's either "you fat bastard" or "you're shit, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" (in reference to leedsvilla)
  4. hi general. this isn't your usual 'thanks for the signings' post. with the signings of friedel, shorey and milner, the selling clubs owners and managers have gone out of their way to point out how fantastic and professional villa were when pursuing their players. blackburn expressed how professional we were, steve coppell wished us success and newcastle menioned our professionalism. it fills me with pride to hear that we go about these transfer is such a way, the aston villa way. seeing that we revealed the signing on the official website before any other media outlet got hold of the story was also fantastic, great to know we dont mess about with media mind games etc. thanks big g! and also, with milner now in the team, mrs k won't get a look in on the wing. any chance she could partner carew up front while gabby gets back to form??
  5. 'Na na na.. na na na na na na na na Luke Young Na na na...' ?
  6. young will tear you apart sounds great. for those who've (somehow) never heard the song, it goes: "Young, Young will tear you apart, again" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0dfd_L4tDk could be repeated for ages.
  7. i think simple change boxes at the food outlets would do magic for donations to acorns, when people buy their pies etc i'm sure loads of people would pop their 20p change in, it would add up over the season.
  8. don't think we should be singing songs about our own players saying "his teeth are ****".
  9. i mean, sorry for not making it crystal clear, that "most the people who are discrediting him".
  10. With all due respect, as a goalscorer, Santa Cruz HAS been a one season wonder. That's just a fact. My post above actually can't decide so I'm not in the 'I want Ashton' camp but fact is until he joined Blackburn, RSC was not a prolific goalscorer anywhere. Taking nationality out of it completely, they are both very appealing players and choosing Ashton over RSC is just as justifiable a choice as the other way around IMO. my point is that no one saw him play for bayern. no one knows really how well he played there. looking at the goalscoring records, he wasn't prolific, no. but then wayne rooney doesn't score that many. can depend on your role in the team. for me, to call him a one season wonder is a little ignorant. regardless, lets say he is a one season wonder. if there's anyone who can bring that out again it's martin o'neill! and ashton has horrible, horrible hair :winkold:
  11. "the fact ashton is english and people have seen more of him blinds their view" did i refer to you then? no. so learn to read before you acuse me of not getting my facts straight! have you seen him play football for more than one season? if i'd got into football last year and watched man utd, would i be concerned that ronaldo is a one season wonder?
  12. Not really. yes really. it annoys me when people prefer english players. as evident in this thread, so many people going for ashton and saying santa cruz is a one season wonder. just because you've only seen him play one season doesn't mean he is a one season wonder perhaps more importantly, it is so obvious that ashton wouldn't work as well with carew than santa cruz but the fact ashton is english and people have seen more of him blinds their view.
  13. mental! never seen anyone so overrated as dean ashton, but it only seems to be people on here that rate him that highly! if you hadn't guessed, santa cruz.
  14. Friedel one is genius Where did all the 'so's go out of the second one? It's doesn't fit without them. haha i was going to mention it works much better without them but i didn't say it, although still left it how i edited them. the problem is that "is so" when sung sounds sloppy, especially in a crowd of 10,000 or so and sung in quick succession like in that song. without it it sounds so much clearer, just replace 'is' with 'in a'.
  15. You can guarantee it will be 'Friedel, Friedel, Friedel'. Inventive Yeah, that sounded better. the first song fits so much better if it's "he's from america, he plays for the villa"
  16. We stood by you when you were shit and what have we to show for it, you left us england starter, villa martyr martin gave you everything you asked for you gave it up to play in europe even though you'll only play a game or two and gerrard made you change your mind by saying something stupid Like I love you or something.
  17. hopefully MON is sitting in a pub drinking a cool lager later on with, say, Nelson, Artur Boruc and Van der Vaart!
  18. i think this would be a lovely away chant, and the song name is quite apt for the villa. This could be Rotterdam or anywhere, Liverpool or Rome, 'Cause we can win, anywhere, When we're away from home
  19. That's brilliant! would be lovely to get it going at Wham, unfortunately i won't be there. i think just hearing the tune of that song, Barry would know our sentiments. he knows how much he means to us, but he doesn't know how much he wouldn't mean to Liverpool. not that i think a silly chant is going to change anything but it's worth a try!
  20. General, Has Liverpool's actions in the last few weeks put you off doing any business with them? the words 'pig' and 'mud' come to mind. Very much a quick question, keep up the fantastic work with the club off the pitch, in my opinion running the club to such a standard (and with fantastic morals) is equal to the players and the team in terms of moving this club forward.
  21. Sign on, sign on, to the bench, in Anfield And you'll never play again, you'll never play again. (or some variation?)
  22. sorry for bringing this back up but i looked back and found it funny, how times change eh!
