I would choose the losing badge from the Purslow consultation over this new one.

Now that we have sampled two examples of Heck’s “aesthetic” (badge and 150 years logo), I can’t wait to see what he will do to the kit next season.

What the Heck is this man smoking?
Taking the round badge lion in isolation and ignoring the direction for a moment, isn’t it obvious that that lion is superior in its shape and detailing and COLOUR. Claret on blue and no yellow.

So we’ve got a different version of something most agreed needed to go, managing to make it worse in the process.
Love or loathe Purslow’s badge, aesthetically it works. This one does not.

Clearly Liverpool deserved to win tonight but that second penalty was a scandal!
I am dreaming as much as any Villa fan but probably that result will suit us better in the long run. It’s a long way back for Newcastle now.

Zaniolo’s issues are similar to Bailey’s during his periods of poor form. Running into trouble, holding on to the ball for too long, not fitting in to the team pattern. So Bailey’s transformation gives me hope for others.

Villa have refused the amount the council want invested, so they have put the plans on hold until something can be agreed. Heck may have just told them he'll scrap the plans altogther, calling there bluff. so I wonder if it's still on if the council back down, if this is true ofcourse. I can see it though with the council being skint and trying to get some freebies.
The problem with that theory is that the planning consent is already in the bag.

But wouldn't you have to demolish the existing North to build that anyway? Where has the goalpost structure gone?
It is possible to retain the existing north stand and build around it, adding a new roof. This was essentially Ellis’s plan.
What is not possible is to build a completely new stand without demolishing the old stand at the very beginning.

A lot of them were changed when Xia made tweaks to the Lerner badge though albeit not the mosaic which I believe still says prepared?
Lerner made tweaks to the Lerner badge. Or at least his chairman Steve Hollis did early in 2016 before the takeover.

Is it just me that thinks that thinks he was confident in the tactics if the players could execute and was testing some of the players ability to execute.
Yes it failed but as long as he/we learned what we need to from this we will be a better team come January.
Yes it looks stubborn and ignorant on the surface and I think we can say cost us at least a point, but long term it could hold us in better stead.
If we are still seeing stuff like this after we've got a squad full of his signings then it's worrying but last night that absolutely wasn't the case.
Idk wishful thinking probably.
The other thing about the second half is how unlucky some of the incidents actually were in terms of the manager’s influence. He can’t do much about Carlos’s stray pass into midfield, the deflection for the equaliser or the ball hitting McGinn before the winner. A bad half certainly but only time will tell whether it’s indicative or a one-off.

Modern clubs think differently don’t they. We fans thought a bigger ground was a good thing and that it wouldn’t matter if some games didn’t sell out as long as the bigger games did. It would give us growing room.
One of the saddest things is that growing TV money over the past 30 years should have meant less reliance on income from fans.

The mystery is why the owners are permitting their senior executives to show such arrogance to the fans’ representatives. Worrying times off the field I think.

The way we dug out the point in the circumstances gave me huge encouragement. Not much you can do about denied penalties and a terrible disallowed goal (clearly a different phase of play based on the number of touches the Sheffield player takes before being intercepted).

The FAB notes use the phrase “on hold”.

There isn't.
Agreed.
Ellis’s plans involved (in his words) an envelope design where a new stand was built around the old stand, which was retained except for the roof (presumably with other means of support to keep the thing standing!) The old plans show a “void” internally between the back of the current North Stand and the new structure around it. That would be the only way to do it while keeping the existing stand in use but it is highly unsatisfactory for many reasons.

My complaint is that the club cannot simultaneously be 150 years old and in its 150th season. Next season will be the 151st! This is the 150th.

But what if we go with the other half?!????!?! “Why’s that bloke just done that? So who’s winning again? Can we go to the shops afterwards and get those other curtains ? Oh you never pay attention to me !” … never said my wife ever…
Or with a small child. “Yes Daddy! Aston Villa kicked the ball!!!”

Thanks. I thought the same but when I see the draw I only see 16 teams. Am I being dumb?
The 16 teams will become 8 and will be added to the 8 (including Villa) who skip the next round because they won the group.
Calling it the last 32 is confusing. It’s two rounds of 16

So by “announcement”, presumably we mean an explanation of the disappointing news already announced rather than anything to actually look forward to!

There will apparently be some sort of announcement coming in the next couple of days on this.
(It's not a new stadium).
Very cryptic as always (not you, OBE).

At the very least, we are putting down a marker for the future. We're back, and we ain't going away.
That would be a lovely break with tradition. The 80s and 90s seemed to capture our history in a nutshell. Big achievements, big disasters, sudden comebacks, rinse and repeat.
