What’s Jedinak up to these days?

Bears repeating, that throughout our poor form, coinciding with United's excellent form, they've gained 1 point on us.
5 points sounds like nothing but it's a really hard gap to overhaul, especially at the top of the table where teams are more likely to win than not.
Don’t forget though that depending on how we did in the last game and the optimism levels of the fanbase, we are either going to win every game for the next year or lose 25 times on the spin.

Ultimately, if we fall short I won’t be blaming the players or the manager or the club for that matter. We are stuck with an FFP system which does not allow us to succeed without our best 12 or 13 players involved every single week. We are simply not allowed to spend enough to swell the ranks of the players capable of challenging for the top 5 positions.

Seeing as we can no longer claim that it’s a fortress, can we get cracking on the North Stand in the summer please, Christopher?
That has to be the dumbest bit of spin I ever heard.

I just do not understand how they do it again and again.

Aaaaaanyway……..must be at least a week since I posted that claret detailing is essential to make Mr Heck’s badge work.

Johm Gregory always says Villa Park was perfect, and immaculate. If a clothes hanger broke on a Friday it was fixed by Saturday.
Typical Doug, fixing broken clothes hangers instead of buying new ones!

Am still gutted they aren't doing the new stand.
Let’s hope we don’t get the stadium equivalent of a residential flat roof extension, if you get my drift, ie an aesthetically disastrous afterthought. We’ve had enough of the Corner Flag / superbox / control tower monstrosities.

Honestly, if the detailing on the lion is not claret having decided to have detailing at all, then this is a Heskey shot against the bar from 3 yards.

The club could just ask him as well, he'd say yes and the club could send him a shirt or some merch as a thanks.
Or a chance to purchase tickets for the Lower Grounds.

That is hilarious and also insane.
I wonder if the club felt they couldn't use claret detailing on the lion given that would be an exact copy of this guy's work? How does copyright, IP etc. work in that scenario?
Seems such a shame to have the new version with the dark yellow detailing when there's the clearly superior claret detailing version out there.
Come on Chris, we know you or someone at the club is monitoring this…

The lion is much more detailed but is getting lost in the blue imo.
The detailing seems to work best with claret so that it ties in with the border and doesn’t introduce shades of grey to the colour palatte.

Fresh twist - new trademark application lodged.

The version where the detailing is claret is better because it gives some unity to the whole.

The high line slander continues, it's the reason we are in 4th. We didn't concede two goals last night from corners because of the high line.
And the third goal came from poor decision making when we had the ball.

The frustrating aspect for me in many games is the lack of urgency. Control is great but control can mean fast as well as slow. We’re sometime “chasing” games in injury time and knock it around at the back like we’re 3-0 up. And there are some players who play to the “system” at the cost of some imagination, like Cash with the constant check inside and resetting.
-
All this checking inside.

If true... Oops.
It’s a strange one, this whole saga. I absolutely detest the trademarked version and yet the Bosko’s boot fellow’s version with the claret overlay on the lion suddenly transforms it into something I could get behind.

Agree with those who are nervous, but taking a step back, who would have thought after match day 1 we would have the opportunity to go 17 points clear of Newcastle in the return fixture. That would be a 20 point turnaround!

I've already started the 'Give it Slippy G' campaign. He knows the club.
Off topic I know, but I will laugh a lot that the Liverpool job will have become vacant nearly three years after Slippy joined us and he won’t be getting it.

I was born in 1988 so I'm in my 36th year of life and I've lived in 37 years. Doesn't change the fact I'm 35.
You agree then that 2024/25 is not the club’s 150th season but its 151st?
-
1874/75 was our first season which makes 2023/24 our 150th season, at the end of which we will be 150 years old. Just in case anyone from the club reads these pages.

Good grief. Not the Grealish weight bearing injuries. He might never come back.
Unless he goes to Man City and the longer term injury issues mysteriously disappear.

I do, but I'm not as successful as you and your comedy career obviously...
I was more admiring how you have managed to do all the great designs to share with us in your spare time while all the badge dramas have unfolded. Apologies if that is not how it came across.

There will be (should be) a whistleblowing policy though and that should be followed.
That is not to say the letter isn’t disturbing on its own terms.
