new article in the daily star reckons Ancelotti is genuinely unsure the Villa job is right for him. Lerner will match his wages at Chelsea.. back up to Ancelotti will be Jol Hughes and Rafa. As much as Rafa is hated on here.. i think he has been successful everywhere he has gone.. hes won more than JOL and Hughes.. and has a better win percentage than both.. i dont think hed be a bad option to be honest.

He has the reputation. He would convince players to come to Villa and stay at Villa. Tactically he is brilliant. He may have had financial power at other clubs.. but Randy will back him. He has good connections and respect all around the world. It will make people stand up and notice Villa. Like you said big clubs in the past.. then Villa? Hughes would be depressing. If you want to keep your best players you need to bring in a manager like Ancelotti who demands respect and the players see the ambition. Sure he'd cost more but he's willing to stay in england and manage a non CL club. Hughes transfer signings have not been that great generally and this squad needs an overhaul...also means collins will startt every game as cb again.. Id rather moyes jol etc over him.

What for any reason, none of your manager suggestions dont want to come, are we lacking ambition if we dont kidnap them and force them to manage? Then you go for another manager of that standard. But if we go for Wigans manager or Mcleish or some average manager.. then yes.. it lacks ambition. The three i mentioned were EXAMPLES. We need quality manager or we lack ambition. Baring in mind he knows how the club works internally, all the staff the ins and outs of what might or might not be needed, which you just err have none of that. Ancelotti is a must. Chase him hard. If hes not interested id go Rijkard or Jol. Anything else would be lacking ambition. Get a younger manager preferably.. id like Riijkard.. however if Ancelotti signed.. the bigger names may stay.

Alot of people being way too critical of him way too early. I could be proven wrong in the future but he will be massive for us next season. 1. He came over midway through the year. 2. Didnt know the language. 3. Didnt have his family. 4. Will need a FULL premier league pre season to boost his fitness as he seemed to start really well and then fade. He will learn the language and communicate better.. he will get fitter.. he will build combinations and become a really dominant player in midfield for us. Watch this space.

we wont see the best of Makoun till next season. He needs a proper Premier League off season to get really match fit. Petrov and Reo should both go and Delph Bannan can step up with 1 major DM signing also joining.
