Yeah I heard that, with pinstripes apparently.

How are all these Villa youtubers and twatterati like Ty Bracey getting to see them well before us?

For the likes mate. They've got to keep those followers engaged.

  2. We'll be able to confirm this as soon as today/tomorrow.

JD was in Bogata a few days ago, so if he is joining up with the squad, it would make sense that he is not here beforehand and will fly there directly.

If he doesn't join up with the squad, I'd say that confirms what we are all expecting.

He said Mcginn will like the third shirt... Tartan third shirt?

I think it was mentioned in this thread, or on twitter, that the third kit will be dark blue/royal blue. Quite possible that I could be making this up, so take it as you will.

Lopetegui being a Spanish speaker might also be a factor.

I wouldn't be surprised if West Ham are a top 6 challenger this season.

I say get it done. Wanted him before he moved to Citeh, I think he'd be the perfect compliment to Ollie and capable of leading the line by himself.

I suspect he'll probably want to be first choice though.

I'm not sure booking the full full amount in last years accounts would have been legal  ... not that it would appear to stop us :)

So far as I understand PSR, thems the rules.

    • Book profit at the moment of sale
    • Amortise fee spent over contract period

In the example of Archer. We booked the full sale value when he moved to Sheff Utd and now we amortise the fee to buy him back. They are two separate transactions.

It's a swizz, but we Monchi is playing chess whilst everyone else is playing checkers!

It looks boring, the most basic of Adidas shirts. Only positive is that it will be decently well made because Adidas stuff usually pretty solid.

More interested to see the away kits.

Based on the lead times, it's not that bad.

Plus Heck was in charge and as is evident from the badge, he draws with crayons.

As has been pointed out on many previous occasions and not to be a pedent ....but Danny_villaman is someone who struggles a little with his sight .....might be worth a back read ......

It's not fair to assume that everyone would know that and I certainly wasn't picking on him, it's just not who I am.

We all have our challenges, admittedly not all as debilitating. For instance, I myself, am dyslexic. You might often notice edits on my posts and that's because I read them back and fill in all the words I miss, or correct misspellings.

It's good to know this about @Danny_Villaman84 and I apologise if any offence caused. Community in action.

  10. Jhon Duran to West Ham is a good move all round.

    1. Removes a (alleged) disruptive player.
    2. £40m; ~£25m in PSR profits.
    3. Likely to have a sell-on clause.
    4. We can't guarantee him game time to improve his game but WH can.
    5. Game time and scoring goals, will lead to a future transfer in which we'll benefit again (see #3 above).
    6. We will reinvest the funds in a player that Unai wants and that benefits the team.

The only potential negative is that he'll be staying in the Premier League, so he will have chances to score against us.

Don't think he is dropping mcginn, unless his form drops of. Mcginn was clearly preferred over Tielemans last season.

Also having Nedeljkovic (unproven 18 year old) in starting 11 over Cash or Konsa is a bit of a stretch.

Cash is one the most replaceable players in the team imo. Konsa playing RB was indicative of that. If Kosta proves to be effective both ways (defence/attack), he'll start.

I don't think SJM is a guaranteed starter, but for everything he offers in doggedness, I don't think he beats out Onana or Kamara in CM, so therefore he is competing with Tielemans and Bailey for a position higher up. Swapping with Bailey will be situational and so he's most likely to be competing with Tielemans. It's a nice problem to have.

Emery Ball 3 Variant which I know so far Emery like play

    (442) & 4411 (one Overlap side with SS Roles)

    -----------------Watkins-------(Bailey)-------
    --------------vv<<< Roger ^^---------------------^^^^
    (Roger)--McGinn>>>--Onana--Telisman--Bailey
    ^^^Maatan------Pau-------Konsa-------Cash
    -----------------------Martinez-----------------------

    ------(JPB)---------------Archer-----------------
    ^^^^^^--------^^^ Buendia >>>>vvv---------
    JPB-------Barkley------Kamara--<<<Ramsey--(Buendia)
    Dignes------Mings----Carlos----Konsta^^^^
    -------------------Olsen/Guaci-----------------------

(3-4-3 FB > WM & AM > FW) 4312 DM drop CH Variant
    --------(Roger)----Watkins-------Bailey-------
    ----------------------vv Roger ^^--------------------
    (Maatsan)---Telisman--Kamara--Ramsey--(Cash)
    ^^^Maatsan---(Kamara)---Pau-------Konsa----Cash^^^^
    -----------------------Martinez-----------------------

    --------(Buendia)----Archer-------JPB-------
    ----------------------vv Buendia^^--------------------
    (Moreno)---Barkley--Onana--Mcginn--(Konsta)
    ^^^Moreno---(Onana)---Mings----Carlos----Konsta^^^^
    -------------------Olsen/Guaci-----------------------

    (3-2-3-2 FB > AWM & 2 CM > AM + 1 FW free roles)
I think it is complicated Emery do this formation and sometime still confused me.

    ------------Watkins-------Bailey--------------
    ---(Maatsan/Telisman)---^^(Roger)^^---(Ramsey)<<^^^---
    ---^^^----Roger-Telisman--Onana--Ramsey
    Maatsan------------Mings---------Pau----------<<<--Konsa
    -------------------------Martinez-----------------------
(or Maatsan move 3 men CM and Telisman head attack)
(Maatan Stay Pau or Mings move 3 men CM and Telisman head attack)

    ------------Archer-------JPB--------------
    -----(Barkley)---^^(Buendia)^^---(Cash/McGinn)<<^^^---
    ------Mcginn-Barkley--Kamara--Buendia---^^^--
    Pau------------Carlos---------???----------Cash
    -------------------------Martinez-----------------------
(or Cash move 3 men CM and Mcginn head attack)
(or Cash Stay one CH (Pau) move 3 men CM and Mcginn head Attack)

Nice attempt, but there is a lot wrong with this.

    • Ramsey plays on the left or centre-left, whereas you have him on the right.
    • Likewise, SJM is more likely to play right or centre-right.
    • JPB, whilst versatile, will likely spell Bailey on the WR, rather than join the left rotation with; Ramsey, Rogers, Iling-Jr.
    • We are unlikely to need Cash to play high up on the right, due to the strength already in that area. Naturally, he may (as might Kosta) progress into those areas, but he's not starting as a RM/RW.
    • The same goes for Maatsen. Quite possible however, that both he and Cash/Kosta, play WB in a back 5, but that will be situational e.g. away to a team with a good home record and playing on the counter.
    • Kamara isn't a bench player. He'll start when fit, even if alongside Onana.

Imho, the most likely formation when all players are fit, will be 4-3-2-1

    ------------------------- Ollie -----------------------

    ------------------ Rogers ------------- Bailey -

    ------------------------ Tielemans --------------

    --------------- Kamara - Onana --------------

    Maatsen - Pau - Konsa - Nedeljković

    ------------------- Martinez----------------------

Also, I do not mean to be a pedant, but it's quite easy to check the spellings of player names; Rogers, Maatsen, Tielemans, Digne, Kosta (Nedeljković).

We need to trim the squad for CL.  One of Digne or Moreno will have to go, we don;t need 3 left backs. Donk, Cash will stay unless we get an offer, same with Carlos.  Archer loan or sell.

    This isn't strictly true.

We don't HAVE to trim the squad, as we can choose to leave players out of it e.g. all of the players on the bomb squad.

I don't disagree that we are carrying too many bodies in general however.
