Same for me.

When you have a really nice meal out, the food is great, the service brilliant, until it comes to when you finish and want to pay the bill, ending up having to wait almost longer for that than it took to eat 3 courses. I never understand why they don't want to take your money as soon as possible and get the next lot of customers in.
I tend to ask for the bill about 5 minutes before I'd like to leave. If the bill hasn't been presented within those 5 minutes I will ask again. After another 5 minutes I've either paid or I'm walking towards the till. Just once, after waiting a couple of minutes at the till area, did I head towards the door. Funny enough, that got the bill to me pretty quick. This method ensures never waiting much more than minutes longer than ideal.

i'm off Today and Monday but will probably have to log on at some point this weekend for a few hours
Will you really need to or just think you ought to? If it's the later, will it be that bad if you don't log on for a few hours or could it be that you'll gain more by being truly rested after a few days genuinely away from work?

Forgetting that I had my bank card in my trouser pocket before proceeding to put the trousers in the washing machine. Yep, the bank card is nackered (even the chip has gone!). This happened on Sunday by the way and the lovely lady on the phone said I would have a replacement within 2 or 3 working days. 2 days have passed and I have no cash! (luckily my car has petrol and I have food).
Hurry up and get here you stupid piece of plastic. I don't really want to go into a branch to withdraw money showing them my mangled up card*.
*I know they'll give me money with ID but it's still embarrassing
A good reason to have more than one method of payment. Best to have a credit card or two and/or a second debit account. I use a couple of credit cards that reward cash back or Avios (air miles). Cards are set to automatically pay off the balance each month so there's no cost, just 'reward'.

Why didn't the check in staff stop checking people in when they got to the number they considered full? The mess up on the day started there. Should never have gotten to the point where there flight is about to leave when they wanted to correct the "problem".
United Airlines didn't realise they needed four of their staff to be on the flight until the paying passengers were all on the aircraft. I imagine a United Airlines manager was worried about being in trouble for not sorting out a potential short staff issue on another flight and decided they would prefer to really annoy four passengers, supposedly chosen at random, instead. Privately, United Airlines will be blaming the passenger for resisting and cursing the film and social media capability of the other passengers.

Whilst most airlines overbook, the video footage of United Airlines so physically enforcing the policy, just so their own staff could travel on that aircraft, will cost United millions in lost revenue. Whilst hoping the guy is okay, I also wonder what on earth United Airlines will do in terms of damage limitation. I also wonder if this incident will force the whole airline overbooking policy to be reviewed.

When is the deadline day for using this season's VillaCash towards next season's season ticket?
I'm not so bothered about today's deadline for the interest free option so I don't want to spend ages waiting on the phone if I can still use my VillaCash sometime in the next few weeks.

How did Taylor do, and was he supported or booed?
I noticed a definite increase of praise from the home crowd for Neil's good play moments (plus the early throw in, as already mentioned). I suspect the increased support was to ward off any stick he might have got for his footballing misjudgment. As it turned out, there was no stick from anyone in the ground (well Norwich is pretty far east!), so I think most were pleased the exaggerated criticism had been left on social media. Back in the real world, Taylor had a solid game and was probably glad to get a full game under his belt without having face any high speed 50/50's.

My mother once told me "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" so my comments on GG are considerably curtailed.

Hamilton was evens for the title last night, currently at 8/13.
Wish I had jumped on this last night.
You'll be pleased to know Hamilton is currently 6/4 with some. A 50% improvement on the odds you wish you'd jumped on.

It seems our culture has been reduced to defining everything as the best or worse thing ever. The Tony Xia (certain tweets), Bacuna (chest bump) and now Taylor threads, support my thought that some people are way too sensitive or just revel in being shocked or offended.

Spotting two scuffed alloys on the car my wife drives a day after I believed the 3 year wheel insurance had expired, double checking and then finding out it was still valid until the end of that day. They're diamond cut so it has saved about £200.

What happens to the posters who just stop coming here? Do they join other forums or just stop posting online in general? This place is like smack to me, I struggle to go a day or two without coming here. I couldn't imagine joining another Villa forum

Didn't make the 11.
Didn't come off the bench.
Substituted on in the 96th minute.
Last three games, not looking like a great piece of business this.
Seems like progression to me. By 20/21 season he'll be starting.

I've been 3 times and don't think I've bet! Its more for the atmosphere and the buzz. Plus plenty of eye candy!
Unfortunately it's the kind of buzz given off by thousands of gamblers. Not a problem for me but for my wife I can only imagine it would be like being surrounded by druken people in a massive pub when your family's life's have been ruined by alcoholism.

Happy Valley is key in Hong Kong if you're there on a Wednesday night. Make sure you sit in a bar with the South China Morning Post for an hour or two first and work out all your bets, then just enjoy racing in a spectacular location.
We arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday; I can take or leave racing; my wife can't stand racing (gambling addiction has ruined the life of one of her family). To summarise, I probably won't be at those races!

Singapore , Honkers and KL are only really stopover places worth 2-3 days each imo , though i do have ants in my pants and don't like staying still
Pretonas Towers in KL gets fully booked way in advance so pre book that online asap if you want to go up them
minkey caves with a Buddha statue are Ok , you can get a train there from Central it's safe and easy to travel around the place
Singapore I guess the wheel , the statue , up the hill to the fort thingy , the lion statue the new Casino , the four floors and just amble around stop off at raffles for your overpriced Singapore sling ( I got 2 for free for being a hotel guest , but define free at the room rates they charge !!)
honkers go up Victoria peak , head over to Kowloon , go to the island whose name escapes me and see the worlds largest freestanding Buddha , happy valley for racing maybe Disneyland if that's your bag
Don't get me wrong i liked all 3 places as experiences and you'll surely enjoy them all , but you may want to think about going further afield if your budget allows it
I came into Singapore from Siem Reap , only a couple of hours away and more rewarding than Singapore in terms of what you'll see
KL I used as a base for Bali and then SL on the way back . Air Asia could get you almost anywhere in that region for cheap from the KL hub
not been to Lankowi , i did Pangkor Laut instead for my beach relaxation
Thanks Tony, advice noted. I've got 3 days each in HK and Singapore, one week in Langkawi and 2 days in KL.
Planned so far:
HK - Victoria Peak, city walks in HK island and TST, dim sum restaurant. Unfortunately the cable car to the big Buddha is having the cables replaced so the journey from our Hotel in TST will take 2.5 hours each way so I'm not sure if it's worth taking up most of a day.
Singapore - Gardens by the bay, Marina Bay Sands observation, harbour walk to merlion, Universal Studios (we enjoy the Florida one). Looking to add Fort Canning.
Langkawi - mangrove tour, jet skiing, snorkelling, cable car and sky bridge.
KL - Petronas Towers (must pre-book, thanks), KL Tower forest and zoo.
We're using air miles to travel First and we've booked some top-rated hotels with club lounge access so the whole 17 days might turn in to a bit of a haze!
