Which bookies are offering the best odds for the combination of results should the worst to happen?
I'd rather lose £20 or £30 to see us in the Premier League next season or at worst get my 3 season tickets paid for.

As far as I'm aware, it is not possible to appeal a yellow, even if the yellow is a second booking. Is it possible to appeal a sending off after a second yellow?
I'm sure its all about intent and there clearly was none, simply came together in the air IF there was any contact and Benteke didn't see him - Terry going down like he got shot though, even though he seems to go down from the collision between his head and the ball the clearing in the woods.
There appears to be no intent to harm otherwise it could have been a straight red. As poor as the referee was, mostly because Terry should have been sent off earlier, Benteke gave Mason little choice but to give him a second yellow. Whilst publically supporting Benteke and being wary of keeping his services this summer, I imagine Lambert was very annoyed with our Christian.

For those who love to read things into something that is probably not there, Benteke's reaction, during the team's lap of honour this afternoon, did not look like a player waving goodbye to the club. It would appear that he is happy to stay, perhaps subject to a 'too good to refuse' offer in the summer.

That the FA cup final is on today and it quite clearly isn't the Sunday after the league came to an end.
I thought the FA Cup was traditionally on a Saturday?

For decades the final was held at 3pm on the Saturday after the top league had finished.

I will give VT £100 if we get relegated.
It says a lot about our chance of relegation that it would only cost £1 to insure the cost of the above.
-
It's interesting (To me anyway ) That at the awards ceremony and the interviews there the players give the impression their attitudes are that we're safe now.
Perhaps they've all had a week's wage at 100+ to 1, just in case!

What would you have done? I literally couldn't live it, I felt guilty as hell. At least this way I am hopefully covered and won't be locked up.
With no damage caused, most would have driven off and forgotten about it. Now you've done what strictly was the correct thing, please relax!

I'm looking towards the season being 'post' before deciding whether it was 'mortem'.

What ever happened to Wiz?
I do miss Wiz insisting Lambert will dump us after any amount of success. It got me concerned after recent back-to-back wins.
-
Why aren't there any nawrich fans on here insisting Lambert is off to Everton?
-
Lamberts still got a lot to prove IMO. Yes hes better than the last 2 managers, yes he canspot a player, keep a tight dressing room, - But can he assemble a defence that can hold a lead longer than 15 minutes ? - Time will tell.
16 minutes of time!

It is a strange league table that with just 2 games left we could still be relegated or finish in the top half.

Still can't stop myself thinking we will go down. Wonder what odds there are for Wigan, Norwich and Sunderland to win this week.
About 7-1/8-1 in a treble.
Interesting. Might be worth a punt. Thanks.
Why not take the 33 - 1 if relegation is what you are ultimately concerned about?

I'm considering a £16 insurance policy that would cover the total cost of a Championship season ticket, in the unlikely event it is required.

I thought that pass to Gabby's second was a lucky, aimless hoof. Really good pass and well spotted. And a good run from Gabby to stay onside untill the pass came.
Both players made the assist and goal look so simple. Whilst I know it wasn't, it doesn't stop me thinking - why don't we just do that half a dozen times every match!
-
Despite a Wigan-esque revival we're most likelly go into the last game of the season having to not lose against Wigan to stay up
It is still possible, but is it really 'most likely'?
-
We won't keep a clean sheet.
-
They really are focusing down our flanks
Against a booked player seen as a weak link defensively and a sub who has hardly played this season, I think it's to be expected!
-
with baggies winning and us looking poor -id take a point
Would anyone take matching Wigan's result today? Maintains 5 point gap with one less game left to play for both teams.
-
3 points better than last season isn't my idea of "not bad". Also, we've flirted with relegation most of the season and home crowds have actually been slightly down.
By what calculation did you work that out? The figures I've seen state our average last season was 33,873. It is currently higher than last season and after a decent attendance for our last home game, this season's average should be very close to 35,000. Looks more like slightly up, not slightly down.

His agent reckons he'll stay.

If players start to show faith and don't bail for more cash then things could turn around and finally some cohesion will set in.
^Along with a degree of strengthening, ^this^ is what is needed.^
From the article linked above:
"It is always impossible to predict the future in football, but, at the moment I am 99 percent certain Christian will start next season with Aston Villa in the Premier League."
I note the season starts a few weeks before the transfer deadline; Dwight Yorke anyone?
Come on Christian, you can borrow my pen!

Not a major overhaul, but we definitely need to address specific areas of the team.Unfortunately, you're probably right about any monies being available. We need a major overhaul in the summer. I cant see Lerner giving Lambert money to spend unless it comes from player sales.
Bringing in 4 or 5 players of a proven top half Premier League standard is unlikely because of transfers and wages. Bringing in half a dozen lower league players is too risky on top of what we have. Doing very little, especially to the defence and midfield strength, relies too heavily just on our younger players gaining experience from this season. Hopefully we'll attempt a minor overhaul, if that's not a contradiction in terms.
I still think RL is more concerned about the wage structure than not spending on transfers. IF a few £40k+/week players can be jettisoned in the summer, I think RL will sanction some decent transfer values, provided the new contracts are less than around £40k/week. I expect what value is perceived as 'decent' will vary amongst most!
If we re-contract Benteke (possibly the only exception to offering less than £40k/week), it will be a great start.

The way I see things is that if we don't win this game it will go to the last game of the season!
That's likely but as we don't know what Wigan will do in their next 3 league matches (influence of FA cup final?), how Chel$ki will perform at Villa Park (influence of Europa League final?), let alone how we will perform in our final home game, it is far from certain!
Relegation

I've used oddschecker to find the best single event odds (relegation), which is currently 40-1, but some of the posters were discussing better odds for the multiple match results (equating to the same tragedy) giving odds perhaps 60+ to 1. I thought it may be quicker to use other posters knowledge than work out all the combinations across odds checker.
