    I agree with a lot of what you said there mate but this I just can't understand... Would you really put Parker in the same bracket as Rooney?

    Well if we sign Baros, who's to say if we will or not, would that make you happy with our summer spending? We'd have signed 2 strikers, 1 midfielder, 1 defender and 1 keeper and lost 1 striker (first team that is) and one midfielder unless I'm missing someone. Our net summer spending would be roughly 6.25m I reckon. That's not the "significant funds" we were promised, but it is more than a lot of clubs. Personally I still wouldn't be satisfied, but more satisfied than I am at the moment I guess.

    It was between BL and JG for me. But eventually BL won it for not being corrupt But anyone who signs Mellberg, Angel, Delaney and Barry amongst others deserves credit, he even got Collymore playing for a bit. Even if he did sign Balaban, Stone, Watson etc

    If you looked at the polls to see who he's up against you'd see how he made it in. It was him or the crab basically, Merson was counted as a striker, don't ask why

    I think JPA will miss Vass big time, we'll see though. I'm surprised no-one has gone for Nobby seeing as he was top scorer last season (I think)

    Ok OUT OF OUR CURRENT CROP (that means you can't say Baros), who do you reckon will be our top scorer this season? I was thinking about this earlier today and came to the decision that as much as I didn't think much of him as a signing, now that Vass has gone Angel won't be getting so many so I think "Super" Kev will end up top scorer, what do you reckon?

    He won midfielders hands down for me, but not strikers, mainly because he wasn't one no matter what people say. Up front I'd have Dion any day.

    Olly for me. Southgate was ok but Mellberg is just a class act. Never saw Mountfield so can't comment on that.

    Tayls may not have had flair but I bet his goalscoring record was better than that of Merse. Still Merse would win this poll for me, surely we're not counting him as a striker?

    What about Steve "The Builder" Stone Got to be Nobby I suppose but I'm not as impressed by him as some are.

    He tackles and he passes, he harries and harrasses, he gets up people's asses, he's better than Roy Keane.... There was no choice there really. I take it Merson isn't being counted as a central midfielder? It shows that for all the players we've had there over the past few years none of them have been much good.

    Where's the "your guess is as good as mine" option? It makes no sense at all in my eyes. Out of those options I'd say DOL didn't rate him I guess.

    Just for your information I left the OS because of how shoddy the site was and how it was impossible to moderate because of the way it was set up. If they get a decent set up I'd drift back (continuing with this one too obviously) as there were some good people on there. I was the first person to make the jump I believe and I've just about caught up my OS post count on here now I reckon.

    I think rather than "Moderator" under your name Lancs you should have "Goldfish" But then you'd go to change it and forget what you were changing it to anyway so there's not much point. I hope you didn't miss AJ off the list because you left him somewhere last week and forgot about him.

    Ok just remembered it's 5. Anyone remember "Little Uli" or something like that, some kid who looked like a small De La Cruz (the only similarity really being he was fat and black), well I met him too.
