There's a bit of a difference between comparing Spurs to Villa, and Villa to Liverpool. Not a whole lot. Villas history is much richer than Spurs. Villas european credentials are much higher than Spurs Villa have finished higher than Spurs most years in the Premiership Villa would be bigger globally than Spurs. At the moment Villa may not have as much money to spend as Spurs but I doubt Liverpool have as much money to spend as Villa at the moment.

He no longer works for Liverpool or has any affiliation with them so it was very easily answered by telling the press just that.

How far behind Liverpool have we been over the last 3-4 seasons? How much silverware have Liverpool won recently? I think these are outragous comments from the Houllier, It's like the minute he left English football he hasn't watched a game since.

Are you for real? 2 days after taking over as manager of a club(That finished higher than his old club in English football last year) he basically says his new club aren't on the same level as his old one and this is nothing?

He's done it from his hospital bed before so I don't see it being a problem, I read somewhere that he picked the team and made changes whilst he was in hospital. Ah come on that was when he was recovering from a heart attack. Not the first game in charge of a new club. If I was a player and Houllier was giving instructions from France I'd be very pissed off that he hadn't the decency to turn up to his first game in charge.

If he is not there for the Stoke game it is a very bad idea I think, it looks to the players, fans and everyone else that he is not too pushed. I'm not saying he is going into this half hearted but I think it gives off that feeling very early on.

100% backing for Houllier here, just a bit worried that there is talk of a French no. , I think having an English assistant would be very important.At least someone who has worked/played in England.

My point wasn't about transfers at all though it was about young players comming through .

I have asked Liverpool fans and they know about the failures, the Biscans, but they also point out Carragher and Gerrard and his total transformation of the youth setup, and Hyypia, Hamann, McAllister as transfer successes. I don't disagree that young players need an arm around and that's why I'm just as excited at the news that K-Mac might be hanging around because he has a proven track record of developing the youth. Whatever it is they need, he seems to have it in spades. So I think we have everything in place now. Hopefully K-Mac can continue to be that link between youths/reserves and the first team and it all works out well, that's what I'm hoping for but I have my doubts.

Like I said I'll give Houllier 100% backing but ask any Liverplop fan and he'll tell you Houllier destroyed most of the youngfellas at their club but not being a man manager which is one of the main things up and comming players need IMO.

Gerrrad seems to have done well considering Houllier brought him through. Ferri Camara Diomade Sjolund Biscan Baros Medjani Sinama Pongolle Diouf Cherou These were all raved about youngfellas who didn't do so well under Houllier.

Wasn't/Isn't he head of French youth development or something...... I believe so.

The idea of Houllier is growing on me a bit now but we better forget what it was like to get players through from our youths scheme as Houllier seems to have more the Medusa touch than the Midas touch when it comes to young player.

O Neill was slated for doing similar things to this, can't believe Carew,Luke Young, Petrov, were all left at home especially when we were so short with injuries already.

Just home from our second scan with my wifes third pregnancy, we had twins the last time and guess what it's 2 more!!!!!!!!!! So I'm 28 and I'm gonna have 5 kids when 15 months ago we only had 1, this will take time to adjust to.
