Id happily take Benteke for 10 than Fletcher for 14.... What we paid isnt that important, more important is that PL gets the player he want/need in the team. Hopefully there is more to come. Still wish for a bad ass tackling cm tough cause i believe we are lacking the terrier type in our team.

I believe we are in for a...well for us "big name" striker, but we want to make sure we get the best deal for our money. What i dont understand is why we dont seem to go for one player but seem to be "covering our bases" bidding for multiple players in the same position at once... Surely one of the strikers is the one PL think is the better option? Hopefully we will see a link for a bad ass fighting midfielder also...please... When it comes to players like Bowery and such, well we have been complaining about the size of our squad for some years, he is a player capable to do a job when needed and also with potential.

If he dont want to be here we might as well let him be, we need players who wish to be here... Id rather we pay a little more for Benteke, he will also have a resell value if sucessfull...

Let PL do his job, there are and always has been more than one way to make a sucsessfull team, we tried the buy established premership players and we are still paying for it... Now lets give PL the time to build from scratch... He knows the lower leagues... If we finish 16th or 9th doesnt really matter for me as long as there is a plan for the future...

I dont know how big the white dude is, but if that other guy is Anthony Annan he has to be like 1,50 meters or something. Annan is a much smaller man, maybe 1,70 meters and just overall smaller... Im on my phone and dont know how many feet that is by head calculus... (back on computer, 1.5 meters=4 feet 9 inches, 1.7 meters=5 feet 7 inches) 1.70 meters was a good guess, according to wikipedia he is actually 1.71 meters

Got stuck with it after a less than serious football tournament in my youth, had it on the back of my shirt, at partys we used to play the album and song "the great Milenko" by The insane clown posse and i have used it in forums ever since...or..after i began using the net. Dont really have any connection with that name anymore other than that but i guess its as good as any and its never taken by anybody else so...

Great tread and great opening post. I agree, lets give him time to develop. Maybe PL hasnt shown all his cards before and has more tricks and plays up his sleeves...given time and resources. But remember the resources part takes time too, its time to build a teamand it will take years to compete with the top teams...

It has its positives when meeting teams playing narrow, problem is when meeting teams who plays with and has good wingers, then you end up with a 5-3-2 formation instead and you will need one hell of a hold up player in front, striker or central midfielder to give the rest of the team time to come forward attacking... When that is said, Italy did that very well in the Euros, but they have Pirlo...

Its not easy being Ireland either in that role, he is a great passer but when he gets into positions where he would like to play those throughballs he often has only one option and it gets very easy for the oppositions defence to stop/read the play. We need to create more runs/options going forward...

Carroll gets a lot of stick because of the amount Lfc did pay for him, not his fault. I think he is a young and talented player with a bit of sting and good work rate. Has the potential to be great if given a proper run and his confidence being built up. Needs to feel like he is first choice i think and will be devastating coupled with DB. Carroll wins in the box and the goalkkeeper might get a lucky save but then DBs poacher skills gets in to play and he gets to tap them in regurarly and finishes the season scoring 30 goals... (im allowed to dream)... Yesterday we passed it around at the back, maybe we just lack the midfield leader, the one who takes the ball out off the comfort zone and plays the same style while pushing and challenging the opposition. We need someone to take that responsebility, maybe thats why we miss Stan that much on the pitch, he took that responsebility...

If we didnt have the ball much in the last final third of the pitch then it must be clear where we must strengthen, but i don necessary believe DB dont fit in that kind of team. He will or should never be used as a "playing" striker, he is a poacher he should save his energy until a oppurtunity arrives, he should be used like pass and move maybe in front of the box but shouldnt have to wander to far away from the goal. He is dangerous in front of the goal, outside the box and not in finishing positions he is rather average. Warnock isnt that bad, he has had a couple of bad seasons but he was great at Blackburn and for us the first seasons... Hutton never really had a chance did he? Remember some years ago when Spurs bought him, there was some people on here that were disappointed we didnt go for him... But i guess PL has seen enough in training to know whats what and who he wants to build up and use in his team, who he sees has a future and who dont. Sometimes i guess you have to maybe put a lesser team on the pitch in the sake of building for the future and the long time goals. The enormous posession from the Westham game is a big plus, lets build on that. We need to start the change in style somewhere and it isnt done in just a couple of months. If it doesnt give any results come january maybe we could question the player selection. Until then lets be happy that we are actually playing football and trying to win games, thats refreshing and new...

Well, if we get Caroll and dont get a winger inn i guess its hoofball all over again I really do hope they are using Henkes notes and trying to find a couple of hidden gems... (he has that Bayern Munich link, so i guess Scweinsteiger, Lahm and Gomez on loan just kidding)
