I’m annoyed at the moment and picking a team for next weekend out of frustration and boredom.

Needs to show some balls and drop a couple of favourites now.

McGinn needs benching, Konsa needs benching, probably one or two more. 

We need to find a spot for Buendia. 

Bang average second half, with no real spark.
 

Real soft underbelly this team. 

Possession is all well and good but we’re not testing their keeper.

One thing is for sure, the next goal in the game is key.  

Luiz and Buendia perhaps? Just not sure who should be replaced.

Well, we looked good in the opening 4 minutes

We really are a soft side to play against. We need some nasty characters.

Half-time can’t come soon enough.

Big half-time for Gerrard here and be interesting if we see a reaction from the players.

Absolutely shocking.

Digne played the full 90 minutes for France during the week. Strange. 

This break in play has come at the right time. Everyone breathe.

Radio WM now saying that Digne has stopped his warm up and gone back down the tunnel.

We really need to maximise our shirt sponsorship this summer, whether it be with Cazoo or someone else.  I could be wrong but don’t we have one of lowest deals in the Premier League? 

So who do we think will win the tournament?

I already have a few free bets used on Argentina, purely because there was no value on the others. 

Last time we beat them I think was in December 2020, with a 94th minute winning penalty from El Ghazi. Molineux has not been a great place for us though and neither has playing Wolves, whether it be home or away.  The 2-3 home defeat this season was the beginning of the end for Deano, so I’d very much like us to turn them over this weekend.

It will be a tight game with few chances but I think with Neves and Jimenez missing for them, we can sneak it.  1-0 win, maybe?  I know many don’t like this team or formation and I’d be ok with Ings starting in place of Buendia if Gerrard prefers. Digne back if a major plus and I’d like to see Chambers starting, as I think he’s much better with the football than Konsa.

Would be interesting to see what backline they put out given some of the goals they gifted to Wolves. Ollie always struggles v physical CBs so think they'll start Wily Boly who hasn't played much this season.

They’ll probably stick with their usual 3-4-2-1 formation then and play Moutinho and Dendoncker in the middle.

With no Jimenez as well, we have a real chance of getting a positive result I reckon. 

Joao Moutinho has just played two big games in the last few days and with Neves already out, perhaps the midfield is where we could capitalise, dominate and control the game?

To think where we were only three or four years ago to where we are now, we could see at least seven or eight first team players going to the World Cup later this year: 

Martinez, Cash, Mings, Digne, Luiz, McGinn, Coutinho, Watkins, all looking likely. Then Buendia and J Ramsey might just sneak in as well.

Absolutely incredible turnaround in our squad over the last few seasons. We may even sign one or two players in the summer that’ll be going to the World Cup as well. Just brilliant.
