  1. Weeeeee want Richards out, Micah Richards out, I just don't think you understand, we think you're shite, we know we're right, we want Micah Richards out!!!!!   Not as good as the Lerner song, but can be tweaked for Saturday. :)

  2. I'm not blaming RBM for this shower of shite!  The players on the field have to take some responsibility and should have been more than good enough to beat the likes of Luton.  They are so weak minded it's untrue.  The only positive I can take from this is RDM and his coaching team will now know this too.   Richards, Gardner, Hutton shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.  I'm not even that gutted we lost tonight.

  3. Ok squad player, nothing more.  Doesn't dictate play or influence games, nor does make enough incisive passes to win matches. Cannot shield the defence, nor gets in the box enough to score goals.  He is a tidy player on the ball, but not much else. I've no doubt he will have some decent games in this divison, but we need more than that. I don't dislike him and am happy to have him in the squad, I just don't want him starting week in week out.

  4. He will no doubt score 15/20 goals this season, but means nothing as that league is so, so poor.  Happy to get rid.  I am fat, slow and have trouble stretching for the remote, but I reckon I'd still chip in with 5 goals during a season in that league!  Don't be fooled.

  5. I would say that there are 4 or 5 players who just shouldn't be playing for us and we know who they are.  Rome wasn't built in a day, but we need  3 or 4 new players sharpish.  No need to panic here and there were some positives out of today. We should have secured a draw at least and would have done so if not for an error again on our part.  Calm heads needed here.

  6. Not too fussed by this to be honest and flattered to deceive most of time for me.  I think he did get a lot of game time and scoring the odd 'worldie' just isn't enough.  Hope he does well and we receive a decent fee in return.  Move on.

  7. Shame to hear this as was hoping for the fairytale.  Hope he stays to work with the squad, but should he wish to continue playing football then he has my best wishes.  Top man.

I'm only thinking off the top of my head here, but...

Leicester City - Morgan, Huth, Wasilewski - all right-footed?

Arsenal - Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Chambers - all right-footed?

Spurs - Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Fazio, Wimmer - Vertonghen left-footed, the rest right?

Man City - Kompany, Mangala, Otamendi - all right-footed?

That's the top 4 from last season and I can only think that Vertonghen is left-footed.  Might not be right here though...!

Fair enough, I honestly don't know if you are right or wrong with any of the above.  However, at Chelsea Cahill and Terry are a right and left foot pairing, but I take your point.  Personally still prefer to have one of each though and we do currently have Lescott, Clark and Baker, who are all left footers.

Petrov MUST be part of the squad just for the influence alone. I don't think it would be the same if he was a coach.

Totally agree mate and from the looks of it, he's enjoying himself and lifting others around him.  Hope to see him on the villa park pitch again I really do.

I maintain that last year, both based on his career progression to that point and his ability, will be looked back on as outlier for Jack. A young, gifted individual suffering from both injuries and a distinct lack of leadership having a torrid time in a horrid team.

He takes his share of the blame for that but onwards and upwards. Build a team around him, manage him and he will be a star for us.

Agreed.  Think Sherwood said he was the most talented/gifted in the squad at the time.  Petrov will no doubt be a good influence to him and agree that he could be a really big player this season.

Most centre back pairings consist of two right-footed players, surely?  Does RDM genuinely not play this?  Limits our options a wee bit...

I disagree mate, I think most coaches/managers prefer to have right and left foot pairing.  When Lescott played with Clark last season you could see how it unbalanced us.  I could be wrong though and he may choose to have Okore with Elphick.

I may shed a wee tear if he runs out onto the pitch again.

I know what you mean mate.  Can you imagine if he scored in front of the Holte!  Grown men crying everywhere and even the most hardened would well up :D

What about Okore? Pretty sure he'll be a starter.

I think a new attacking mid could be a good shout. Would make sense as Xia has said as much, too.

Just don't see RDM playing two right sided centre backs and I don't like it either, as prefer the balance of a right and left footer.  Elphick will be a starter for sure and most probably captain.  Tell you what though and he isn't the most creative but Leon Britton could be a good player in the middle for us. Doesn't start regularly at Swansea now and ran the show against us for 45 minutes at their place.  Otherwise Barry in the holding role would be fantastic, just not sure if gettable though?  Loftus-Cheek on loan for six months would be who I'd like.  Ravel Morrison could be that creative player RDM is after?

Great post aside from the part in bold .

I know, I know.  Wasn't happy naming Lescott either to be honest mate, but it was a toss up between him, Clark or Baker.  Would prefer a new left sided centre half, but don't think we will until a couple are shipped out first.  Agree with one or two also regarding a midfielder who can score goals, which is why i mentioned a new creative midfielder.  Perhaps Tshibola will chip in with 5+ goals?

  15. A few tweaks and couple more signings/loans and we are in decent shape for the start of the season I think.  We know that we lack goals so hopefully this will be rectified over the next two weeks:

                           Gollini

    New RB   Elphick   Lescott   Amavi

                       Westwood

             Gana                Tshibola

                         Grealish

               New CF        New CF

The above could easily switch to a 433, which could then accommodate Ayew, Adama and/or Gil if they are still here. Hopefully a new creative player and two new forwards would be good though.

  16. Somebody could make a movie about this guy!  Premier League footballer has life threatening illness, four years of heartache and recovery, then makes first team return.  Simply incredible from the man.   One step at a time, but can you imagine if he scored in front of the holte in a competative game again?  Wow, I really would cry.  Good on you Stan.

Piss poor that the kids home kit isn't available til the end of September.

Kids want it for the school holidays and their summer holidays

I posted this last Friday on attending the new store opening and was very disappointed  to be told this as well.  I won't be buying it at all now as kids don't get long in it as it is, but most want it for the summer holidays.   To be honest the prices shocked me a bit too, so a blessing I suppose.
