  1. I think elmo has a had a good game really, nothing amazing but just steady and composed
  2. One thing that annoys me in most games even where weve played well and won is that we play it backwards so much from midfield. We should not be playing balls back to emi from the half way line(to the extent that we do)or sometimes even when we are building up on the edge of the box. It seems like we lack that player that can link between defence and attack by being able to turn a player and really this is what barkley should be doing but we need soneone with the tenacity to win the ball like mcginn(on form) and turn and go past people a la grealish, watkins, traore. Sometimes i think trezeguet has that drive and after tonights performance him or sanson start over barkley,or nakamba drops in mcginns position and mcginn goes into cam.
  3. Martinez 9 Cash 7 Konsa 7 Mings 7 Target 7 Luiz 6 Mcginn 5 Traore 5 Barkley 3 Grealish 6 Watkins 8
  4. I think he is fit but i just think he hasnt got a defensive side to his game at all. For me he should be swopped and we should start someone with more tenacity to win the ball as basically we're playing with a 2 man midfield and mcginn is struggling at the moment to add to that which means we are being overrun(totally dominated by west ham and lucky against southampton imo) . Watkins should be the only man i expect not to get involved in defending(although he does moreso than barkley and on par with jack and bertrand. Barkley would be a good impact sub imo.
  5. Felt we were slower but also the formations were a missmatch, being bossed until the goal which seemed to totally deflate them and boost us. Barkley seemed to drop deep almost inbetween of luiz and mcginn hopefully that is roughly where he stays and not just to see out the last few minutes until ht.
  6. Massively underated player for me.An unsung hero . His work rate is massive, always chasing everything and its starting to pay off for him and us now this season. Definately cemented his position , cant see el ghazi getting a start ahead of him
  7. He's fantastic when we are in possesion and/or attacking and i know people are going to disagree but i really do think he could put more effort in to pressing and trying to break up the play further up the pitch as grealish/watkins and trez do. Not just agsinst arsenal, against leeds and southampton he let players past him numerous times when he could of pressed them or even stuck a foot in, it certainly looked like he could get to them but just didnt
  8. Ok arsenal make a change... but what could we change? I cant see what we could do to change it. Deffo need to get another striker in jan or get wesley back asap.
  9. Is it me or does barkley not do anywhere near enough when we havent got the ball? There has been many times not just in this game where ive thought he should be chasing and closing people down more and he seems to let people glide by ,almost as if he's had instructions to stay free and not get involved in any chalenges?
  10. Call me crazy but one idea ive got on the offside rule to make it more obvious and indisputable either way is to change it so that you are only offside if you are past the last defender and there is a visible gap between attacker and defender(torso only not leg or arm). Its too close when 2 players are level and it comes down to a heel or virtually nothing. Thoughts?

    Hello

Hello fellow villians! (Will anyone actually read this i dunno!?)... ive been a long time lurker on this forum although i actually signed up a long time ago i havent been on for a while. So about me...Im 40, male, married with 2 kids 7 and 9, wife is a from a family of bluenoses unfortunately! A strange and almost unbelievable(and sad) fact about me is that even though im 40 and ive been a fan of Aston villa since i was about 10 i have never been to a game ...infact i have never been to a live football match!!!...i dont know why really, ive always wanted to, i guess my family was never into football and would never have taken me to match even if i'd have asked. All my friends were blues fans unfortunately and obviously had nobody to go with because of this. So ever year i say im going to go to a game/s it just passes me by for one reason or another. Last season and this one i have really wanted to go and have considered just going alone but i just feel like a billy no mates, as i do like a drink and would be great to a few people to spend match day with, few pints before, watch the game and a few pints after to celebrate the win! , chips and home! . So, hopefully i'll be able to get involved in the discussions with my limited knowledge but i will give it a try! Utv!!!
