  1. Pleased? I'm bloody emotional! They say everything about this club's tradition. Class. Please pass on my thanks to Randy and all involved with this project. It is truly superb
  2. Seeing you in a Bunny suit was bad enough, now Line Dancing. Your street cred has plumeted I'm afraid
  3. General, many posts ago someone asked you if we would ever beat Man Utd, you replied in the positive. I'd like to add just one criteria, in my life time. By the way I'm a reasonably healthy non-smoking 54 year old.
  4. Hi General, good to hear you will be leading the choir. You have mentioned before that you consider our club to be a family. I really think you should prepare yourself to be dissappointed with the behaviour of your new family. The meetings with our friends from down the road are never pleasant. The atmosphere will be intimidating at best and probably very ugly and we will not cover ourselves in glory. I hope your faith in us will remain after the game. Keep the faith
  5. We really need to retain perspective. We are currently in an excellent position as far as the 5 year plan is concerned. MoN was given the single directive in his first year, survival. This was achieved easily. This year I would speculate the target would be 6th to 8th, which is still achievable. However, although the league position does not lie at this stage, I'm more concerned with our team performance and individual form. There are at least 3 players who need a rest, NRC, Carew and Gabby. But we do not have the luxury to rest anyone without weakening the side. My only concern is that we will now start to fall away and finish 8th, which may be within the target zone, but will not qualify us for Europe. And there's the rub, how can we attract the quality players we need to progress if we aint in Europe. Catch 22 anyone.
  6. I totally agree. We are getting a bloody good deal currently, yet people still ask for more. To mis-quote another great American "Don't ask what your club can do for you, ask what you can do for your club"
  7. Hi General, I really think these are a non starter I'm afraid. They take an incredible amount of space and we are not overly blessed with space behind the bars. Would need a total re-build in my opinion. I think lack of space is the real problem with the service. Keep up the Great Work. The Faith will be Kept
  8. Hi General, I second Fredm comments re the screens, much better. Food situation was poor. Even before the game they'd run out of 2 sorts of pies, the staff were very poor, having had no training what so ever, certainly in the Lower Holte. Certainly didn't spoil my day though. High expectations for a strong season.
  9. Hi General, as I believe you can never have too much positive feedback, I'd just like to express how good my experiences have been with the Ticket Office. Polite, efficient and really helpful, even today when I know the phones are going bananas. These are your frontline marketing troops, they are doing you proud.
  10. I do not think Distin will improve our back four. Richard Dunne has been the best centre back at Citeh. And we don't want him either. We should be looking to get players that will go straight into the first 11. Don't see Distin being anything but backup.
  11. I agree. If we are honest, he has flattered to deceive for most of his time at VP. But he is still ours as a result of the £ sign campaign, forcing Deadly to spend. His performances over the last 3 years havn't justified his contract, but still think he's been a good ambassador for the club. Really nice bloke. Could have been a legend, but wasn't.
  12. Towels? You can't be serious? The away fans would have a field day takng the rip. Scarves, Balloons, flags, even rattles, but not towels please
  13. Thanks for the link. I fly out to Malaga tomorrow morning for a week's hols. Forecast is rain, so will have to do a bit of sightseeing.... never know where we may end up eh!
  14. Tears in my eyes. Very poignant and just shows what this club means to us all. Likewise, my daughters are 3rd Generation Villa fans, who were toddlers in 82 and have only seen 2 glimses of success. Hail to the Chief and Here's to a Claret and Blue future
  15. Hi General, interested in your points on leadership, ever considered making a fortune on the seminar circuit? I'd like to add my best wishes to you and yours for a Happy and Healthy New Year. I very much agree with your assessment on a 3 year building program, Rome wasn't built in a day after all and every building needs strong foundations, which I believe we are seeing laid. In Football, success is all about results and they will come with good investment and the bringing on of our own young players over a sustained period. But what you and your colleagues have done is give Villa fans hope for the future. We have waited 25 years for sustained success, another 3 years will not be too much of a hardship.
  16. Just listened to Spizz for the first time. It's got potential, not polished enough in my view, but re-recorded it will be great. Theme from an unknown silent movie after half time though
  17. If MoN intends to return to 4-3-3 then I reckon Bent is the only one who could do the role. I think both Defoe and Keane need another striker
  18. As this is my first post I'd just like to wish our American friends a Happy Thanksgiving. On behalf of all Villa fans I'd like to add our Thanks for Giving us back our pride. We do not expect miracles and we know we have a long way to go, but I have never felt more positive about the future. I have seen the bad times and I've seen the good times, but I'm certain the best is yet to come.
