  1. Hello,

I am writing to you in regards to the new 2012-2013 kit, I would like to express my anger with the current sponsorship. Now I am aware of the premier league rules and that child's shirts aren't allowed to have the the genting casino logo on as it is a casino and company's such as alcoholic drinks and betting shops are not aloud to advertise of the front of children's shirts, this is why I am angry, firstly why has a sponsor been chosen that cannot be put on the front of the children's shirt as I'm sure you know that children want the replica shirt that is the same as what the players are wearing more than anything. Another reason why I am more confused than angry is that when attending our last home game of a dismal season last year, that when walking around the club shop, there were baby shirts and young children's shirts with the genting casinos sponsor on them.

Now I am a big fan of the new shirts and I think they look very good but was disappointed to see what it looked like on the online shop with out the sponsor.

I am a 15 year old boy who is not the average height for a child of that age as I am of the smaller size, and I have been a season ticket holder at Aston villa football club for the last 6 years and have enjoyed these years with the exception of the previous season but I'm sure your aware I'm not the only villa fan angered about last year. Now im almost 16 and as I said I don't look that age but I have many friends who would be wearing the adults shirts therefore they can have the sponsor on there shirts but just because they are taller than me doesn't make them any more mature, therefore just because I'm smaller it doesn't mean I am going to be influenced by a betting sponsorship on the front of my shirt any more than they are.

I am attending the kit launch tomorrow but at this moment in time I cannot justify spending £50 plus on my shirt to include printing, as well as another £50 for my brothers shirt, we will then have to repeat this in a months time when the new away shirt comes out.

This leads me onto my next point in regards to printing, now I will be getting my shirt printed but we do not know squad numbers for next year, now I know big name stars like Darren bent will remain #9 but I like to have younger players on my shirts for example Lichaj and Wiemann by I do not yet know what there confirmed number will be and also what would happen if I was to get a player like agbonlahor on my shirt and he then leaves? Will I be refunded or is it going to be blamed on me?

I look forward to hearing back from you and how you are going to resolve my problem

    Ollie Bennett

I have just sent this too the club, thoughts

I stopped reading due to the bad grammar and spelling. For a letter of complaint you'd have thought you would have done a spell check and proof read.

  2. Can't remember his name, but there is an awesome DMC at Sheff Utd I think. He's about 30, can get him for around £1m, but he's a destroyer. Really played well for me. His stats don't look fantastic but he has all the attributes needed to sit in the middle and break up play, especially if playing counter attacking football.

    English too

  3. Isn't Lambert's basis for tearing up/walking away from the contract that the club were initially in breach for refusing him permission to speak to A.N. other club?

That is allegedly what he/Aston Villa are claiming but:

    1. Anyone who thinks he hadn't already spoken/lined things up with Villa before he quit is very naive.

    2. I would be amazed if there was a clause which allowed him to speak with any other premier league club. Even if there was a clause along those lines then I have read that there is a dispute over the effect of the clause; and

    3. Again even if there was such a clause breach of such a clause would almost certainly not just allow him to terminate his contract. If he has been properly advised he will know that as will Villa. You or he will have to pay one way or another. Faulkener and Lerner just end up looking like grubby cheapskates using these tactics.

I have no problem with lambert leaving us to move to you - moves happen in football and it won't be the last time he moves clubs. I do, however, think it is unecessary and shows a lack of class for Villa/Lambert to seek to deny us compensation in these circumstances.

Of course it would. It was the breaking of that term by McNally that allowed him to walk as he could claim his contract was void.

Erm, no I think you will find it doesn't work like that.

I think you will find that it does. It doesn't work one way. If a clause in the contract is breached then the contract is void.

  4. Yeah things have been good. Just obviously a lot to sort out and we're both stubborn so a few clashes have happened, but we've worked through them. I think we've realised just how similar we are and that we need to talk, compromise and be rational rather than shout and each think we are the ones who are right.

Been a revelation I tells ya.

Got an appointment with the mid-wife next Monday so we'll see what's going on and hopefully a rough due date. We seem to think it could be middle of January but we aren't sure.

    Middle of January, you say..........

    :suspect:

    What? >_>

  6. I want to see him come in now and tell the high earning players (anyone over 50k a week) that he would like to restructure their contracts to a lower wage and free some space up for signings.
And why the hell would they agree to that??? I wouldn't and I'm sure you wouldn't if your new boss asked you.

I'm sure I could manage living on 40k a week instead of 55k. Put a clause in the contract saying that if we achieve so and so position then you'll get an increase.

I'd rather take a wage reduction if it meant freeing up some space to make more signings to bump us up the league... like you said though, can't see many being of the same mind. Just my no-nonsense approach to footballers wages and not justifying them.

"You were crap, you don't deserve your wage, restructure to this or we'll sell you"

We could say 'Two options; you agree to this new contract with reduced terms, or we place you on the transfer list'.

But then they could just refuse to go to any club that came in for them (if anyone did).

It's difficult to have that approach unless you're playing FM (in my first available transfer window I usually get rid of Heskey, Dunne, Collins & Petrov in any way possible :winkold:).

Yeah I've been playing FM a lot lately so I'm probably thinking it'll be too easy!

  8. Just played Blackburn. Won 8-0. 2 players basically ran the show.

    Hazard - 1 goal, 7 assists (AMC - Treq)

    Cavani - 7 goals, 1 assist (ST - Poacher)

Everyone else (bar Krul who got a 7.4 I think) rated 8.2 or higher. Was an amazing performance.

Apart from this game, it seems every other game I have at least one person who has a shocker and 'was at fault for the goal' / 'mistake led to goal'. Sick of seeing it now. Krul has had about 3 of them where he's dropped a ball in the path of a player.

  9. I too want a quiet weekend of sitting on the sofa doing nothing, but I can't cos I'm always doing something else. Kind of annoying, don't get angry about it though.

  10. To be fair a lot of the first time balls he played were in the direction of Gabby, and lets face it, he isn't the most intelligent footballer hence the pass being wasted. He reads the game well and exploits holes in the defence, he needs players who can also see this
