If anyone actually saw this film they will realise how pointless it will be trying to get any kind of sense out of Terry. Some old pervert with a beard has somehow managed to pursuade another 40-odd vulnerable people that he is the Messiah. He has taken all their money, had sex with their wives (and his own daughter-in-law) stolen the virginity of their daughters and brainwashed their weak minds with a huge amount of bullshit. He said the world would end in September - it didn't. When it didn't he started babbling on about how he "will get a new body" instead, and changed the end of the world date to December (I think that date may have passed now as well.) Terry, sorry to be so blunt but you have wasted your life following this dangerous fraud. He is not the Messiah, I guarantee it. He is an immoral criminal. No doubt he will soon be locked up where he belongs. Wake up and get yourself out of there mate.

Cmon Terry. You make it sound like these guys were somehow wrongly portrayed in this film. The leader was a lunatic and his followers were tragic individuals. He should be in jail. He certainly did predict the end of the world on that date and he was guilty of 'lying naked' with underage girls. The ludicrous religious belief that a Messiah will visit Earth before an "end of days" allows dangerous cranks like this to somehow get away with sleeping with minors and brainwashing weak people.

I have been there many times and seen it in action. The parts of Spain I have been in seemed to have a fairly even balance between smoking and non-smoking bars. How do you know it doesn't work? Because you came up with a story on the internet. Excuse me if I remain unconvinced. Please explain to me why having a choice in a democratic society is 'hopeless'. I believe that failing to have the imagination to be able to come up with a compromise is hopeless. That compromise may need tweaking to make it workable after it is put into action, but at least we would be trying instead of blithely accepting blanket bans.

If there were non-smoking AND smoking pubs (which are workable, it works in Spain) which I have been advocating for the last 20 pages (but people seem to be ignoring because they don't have a credible argument against democratic choice), then people would have the choice to work in either environment, smoking or non-smoking. This would not exclude anyone from taking up a job in the hospitality industry, whatever their reasons or motivations for doing so. Nothing ridiculous in that argument as far as I can see. In fact it's a very adult and reasonable solution to the smoking in pubs issue IMO.

With respect, this is a non-argument. If people don't like smoky atmospheres then they won't apply to work in a smoky pub. It would be their choice to work there if they so wished.
