Even Mat Kendrick alluded to the fact that Matthew Lowton may not have been Paul Lambert's No 1 choice for RB but he's young, seems keen and I'd forgotten comes from the same school of RBs as Kyle Walker. Just watched the video on AVTV and looks pleased as punch to be here - just great to see all these new faces in so early instead of having to wait until the last couple of weeks of August under MON et al.

He's a CB plays for Mallorca.

And anyone knocking twitter there's bin quite a few rumours about him as well as a few others. However people are now retiscent to post stuff even off twitter. Guzan coming back was on there quite a while ago & this French lad. I've only posted about players who I've had info from non twitter sources deliberately.

AAAARGH... Please read my lips.. The info on Clyne & Whittingham didn't come from twitter originally. The fact that there's been so many rumours subsequently from allsorts of sources about both of these players on twitter with certain ITKs saying it was a done deal coming to Villa over Clyne tends to back up the info I was told. So if he or others gives me other info that certain players are in the frame going forward then I'll know it's probably correct. I don't get to hear about all of them in anycase...only the odd bit here & there. However if I do get told we're after one or two........ I'll be keeping Mum, because if they ain't signed, sealed & delivered people moan too much.

The thing is no one ever posted that deals were done & dusted. Fees can be a stumbling block, players going in opposite direction fall through...all sorts! We ALSO ALL know that players go where their AGENTS tell them to so anything can happen. You're just wanting a moan. Anyhow I'm off to watch the tennis!

I wonder how Clyne is feeling? ...... Seems West Ham haven't been speaking to him from what Palace Chairman tweeted last night. The person who told me we'd signed someone else, because of messing about with Clyne after reaching an agreement verbally- still thinks there's a chance he might land. I can't see it myself surely - Lambert isn't one to be messed with. It's really difficult with Villa because they keep things under the radar. Whitts deal has obviously waned because of fee quoted by Cardiff perhaps or Lambert has someone else has come up in the meantime? eg Davies, Howson etc etc. Whitts did want to come back.

It's a speculation thread. What would you rather if people hear stuff....that they shouldn't post??!! Oh wait a minute............... Shame that ...what you going to speculate about then? If signings don't land... so what?............It's normally cos the deal isn't right regarding £££££S

As regards Clyne - Also VillaonSea called this been off with Clyne a couple of days ago - so it was on the cards up to then.

No ........ what's more I get stick about stuff been posted off twitter when loads of others do it... but I get the blame!! I didn't get the Clyne or Whitts and other names I've posted info off twitter neither. In future I don't think I'm going to mention any names of players as appears to be the case with MM & Gazton because if they don't come off you're accused of making it up and I don't honestly!

I will try harder I promise...... info on Lambert was good though although I was hoping for Moyes. I stand by everything I said about Whitts & Clyne - and I'm sure the info was good. He was spot on about Holt not landing.

I can't see it myself if we've been messed about.....unless a lesson has been learnt. Rumours Man Utd & Everton have been sniffing around, but doesn't look like so far he's off to Spam.

Going back to transfers .... If it turns out that at least one deal has fell through because of agents wheeling & dealing and ££££S. It will surely be a marker in the sand that Lambert & Villa will not be messed about and will look elsewhere instead...

I'm not saying he's a good player - I just don't think he deserves ALL the stick he gets.

Don't get me wrong - I think there's better RBs - he was a McLeish player. When I was at Spuds game at VP towards end of season - I thought Hutton actually was one of our better players that day till he got crocked.

Bin loads of speculation from Cardiff end.... as well subsequently. But info VT poster had off player himself was weeks ago so I think we'd all come to conclusion - Lambert was looking elsewhere. Shame though I'd have loved to have got him back.

I don't think Hutton deserves all the stick he gets.

Looks like Whittingham is staying in Cardiff despite all the rumours last few weeks. Was really hoping this would get done.

For one thing methinks if McLeish had signed him....VT would have gone into overdrive with negative posts. The irony is we all have a bit more faith in Lambert and picking up lower league gems.

I'm not ignoring your point. I know no one has expected the players we've signed apart from Holman - I thought he was on the cards months ago from McLeish days.

Yeah but even Gazton said Welcome OLe which proved to not happen in the end - people do get told stuff but it doesn't always work out does it? MM said we'd pick bones off Blues - so far no one has signed from SHA..... MM doesn't make stuff up & neither do some other VT posters.

OK just for you Pilchard - I'll rephrase that just for you - I was told that Villa had a verbal agreement with Clyne a couple of days ago as I posted. I also said if he went elsewhere - so I was told - it would be down to those around him more - not the player. I think we can work that out for ourselves - Better wages in other pastures.

TBF Trent it's all about agents these days - people might hear names being chased but until it's done & dusted no one can call anything 100% If agents think they can get better wages, signing on fees etc etc they they tell the player where to go, so no one can call anything for sure.

Not as bad as last Summer Trent when everyone at B6 thought Moyes was landing and instead they got McLeish!!! :winkold:
