For those that are more politically savvy than I, and most who post here are, if the government lose the vote on Rwanda tomorrow would that be the end of Sunak? With all the Tory (extreme) right wing in favour of more Draconian amendments, and the resignations today, is this something that really could happen?

I read in the guardian that it's a possibility, but I think that's more in hope than actuality.

I suspect the right of the party will let Sunak stumble on and take the hit at the next election. Then they will swing the party to the far right of their membership once in opposition

    That would suit Newcastle

Just imagine that sack of shit turning up and getting the team playing the most boring, moribund football known to man.

I would actually feel sorry for the Newcastle fans

Langlet hasn’t really put a foot wrong in Pau’s absence.

He hasn't and it's no slight on him as a player but so many of our line breaking attacks are started by Pau. Lenglet has been solid but he's not got the same skill set

That is nice and everything but right back and DM are needed.

without it there will be a downturn in form in the second half of the season, I’m sure of it

I'm sure everyone agrees that those two positions need upgrading but if we can't do it because of FFP, which certainly seems to be the reason, there is no point in getting frustrated by it

The VT way … He’s been a massive disappointment for £33-38mill 9 goals and 9 assists in 78 games for us is a poor return imo. An expensive bench warmer at best when fit.

Out of interest what are his stats for just Emery?

it does seem like an opportunity missed to me, I wouldnt say im gutted though

He always looked like a little boy lost when I saw him for Chelsea. He might fly when he comes back but I wouldn't be surprised to see him do little of note

    Agree with every word.

    Taxi for Heck. Enough.

In years to come we will look back at the season we had three Club crests.

It's going to make the anniversary shirts they bring out every few years to celebrate winning the league look very odd

Bold prediction but it’s the new year so I’ll do it.

We’re gonna finish third. That’s based on us continuing our 2023 form through the rest of the season which would see us with 80 points and would have resulted in a third placed finish in each of the last 5 seasons other than one (when it would have resulted in second).

This is how I reckon it will finish:

    1. Liverpool

    2. city

    3. villa

    4. Spurs

    5. Arsenal

    6. Utd

    7. Brighton

    8. Saudi FC

    9. West Ham

Interesting as I was just thinking about this myself and came the conclusion that Man City and Liverpool will slowly break away from the group leaving ourselves, Arsenal and Spurs to fight it out. That left me wandering if the disappointment felt by Arsenal to see a title challenge disappear so early might affect them so much that they (relatively) fall apart. You obviously came to the same conclusions that I did.

    We've conceded 27 goals.

Liverpool have conceded 16. Arsenal conceded 18 and Man City 21.

That's a lot of goals compared to the rest of the top 4.

I think not only the gk but the defence as a whole has looked very suspect all season. Our attacking stats is why we are where we are.Only man city have outscored out and we're currently doing the we'll score more than you strategy.

That's the nature of the way we play. High risk defensive line, high reward attacking line. Unai could rejig it so that we are better defensively but probably at the risk of blunting our attack.

At the moment, what we are doing is very clearly working so I wouldn't let it concern you too much.

No doubt Emi would like more clean sheets but I'm sure he is even happier with winning games
