In fairness, even if he had started to come back this weekend, his match fitness would not have been good enough before the season ended

United 5 points behind us now as their game in hand is Sheffield United at OT. They've the easier run in after this weekend. You'd say 6th place finish is definitely likely for us now.
Massive for United this win and a killer for us
I'm loving your reverse psychology, keep it going my man!

Out interest, is the Europa League changing to the same format as the CL?
Asking for a Man Utd supporting friend

I can only assume you're a relatively new fan then as I could name plenty worse players from the 40 years I've been following Villa

Been a funny week, far more interested in the Spurs and Man U games than our own.
That's because we all suspected we would lose. In the end, as long as Man Utd fail to win tomorrow not much changes

Historically it tends to close in a little when the election actually happens so I suspect they're taking that into account. Quite a few of those saying they'll vote Reform will get in the booth and vote tory

Does anyone remember the media fawning over Newcastle last season in their race for CL? I don't see the same from them regarding our pursuit.
**** the media and the horse they rode in on

Disagree, if they win their game in hand, they'll be "only" 8 points behind us with 8 games to go. With us being in questionable form and having a brutal fixture list and United historically having the ability to go on runs, even when they are at their worst, I think we'd be naive to call them irrelevant just yet - Although it should be unlikely that they catch us and this season would be a complete bottlejob if they do. 2-3 more wins this season and then I'll start calling Utd irrelevant
I'm just looking at it round by round. Last weekend we had the most difficult game, Spurs the easiest, Man Utd middle. We gained points on Man Utd.
This round we, again, have the most difficult, Spurs second and Man Utd easiest. Man Utd have to take opportunities like this if they are to make up the ground.
Basically, they have to win tonight

I don't really care who wins the league but I will say that Liverpool are certainly the most entertaining to watch

Good result, although they deserved no points

I'd say unbelievable but I think we were all expecting it.
They've been utter dogshit yet still managing to walk away with the points. Every week.

Yes. When they score with a few minutes to go. We will see shock results between now and the seasons end. This could easily have been one of them.
Anyway, over to us.
But that's how Luton's results have gone against everyone, close but always give away a late goal. I'm taking the positive that Spurs failed to increase their goal difference by much
As you said, just need a win ourselves now

Saw the scores and that Luton were winning but didn't think for a moment that they'd hang onto their lead

I am hoping we sign some players with defensive nous.....that's not saying I want us to play defensive football...I Don't.
I am happy to play attacking football, but with a tighter back door.
I agree with, though I would quantify that our current defence would play with more nous if they were able settle into a rhythm together. The injuries we have had in that area would test any teams ability to coordinate effectively

We do but he will be missing for half of next season so TRO is correct, we will need a top quality CDM in the summer
