  1. Goodfellas for me. One of the few times I've left a cinema gobsmacked by the film I'd just seen. Simply an incredible film, made by a director and with actors at the very top of their game. Amazing film.

  2. Question- Was Brown looking to change the expenses policy anyway was is this reaction to the Telegraph's reports? Cos if it's the latter the sneaky word removed is once again trying to make out he is the saviour of Britain, and if the leaks hadn't been made then things'd had carried on as before with the same useless tw**s in cabinet as always.

The same PM who as chancellor took away alot of the economic restraints on banks and then tries to take glory and the world saviour stance for reeling banks in once the shit hit the fan.

The man, like nearly all polititicians, is in it for themselves and the glory. **** rocket polisher. And he looks like a paedo when he smiles.

  3. General Krulak here:

    1. Stewiek2: I love you sentence that ends "I don't support....I support Aston Villa." I like it because it sends the right signal for this old Marine. It should never be the person...it should always be the Institution. Yes, people make up the institution but they come and go...the Institution is what last. It is the ethos, the tradition, the values, that count at the end of the day. If you get those right, you will be successful...you will be winners. That is why the motto of the Marine Corps is "Semper Fidelis"..Always Faithful...to the Corps.

True. My grandfather fought in Burma in WW2 with the Gurkas, and such philosophy is a trademark of this fine regiment of soldiers, and why their treatment is disgusting. Always faithful to those who make a difference, as a whole, as well as individual.

  4. General,

I have been at times critical of the team and manager, but I agree that these who choose not to renew are lucky to be in such a position. I lost my job just before christmas and finding a new one is hard, so my reason for not renewing is simply down to the current climate, otherwise I'd renew in a heartbeat. I don't support Martin O'Neill, John Carew or Gareth Barry etc... I support Aston Villa. Pure and Simple. May Randy continue to lead this club has he has done, and when finances permit, I shall be there to cheer MON and hte boys on and, if needed, give them the 'b*ll**ing' they need lol!

  5. UEFA will probably just fine them and possibly drop them to go through the qualifiers and give automatic qualification to Le Arse. Not such a bad season for Wenger and his lot heh ;-)

**** Chavski. **** that scummy twatting paid-up classless club!?! So the ref **** up. How many times has that happened to other clubs but youdon't se them all trying to deck the ref or come out and call him corrupt?

  6. I've gone for Randy. Without him the whole demographic of this club would be different. MON wouldn't be here still if Doug had still been around, wouldn't have had the funding. The whole aura around the club, from moving from Hummel to Nike, the training ground revamp, the general, the Holte Pub refurbishment, the sheer feeling that this club is one with class again is down to Randy. Sure, MON, like alot of those at the club, are part of it. But for me, without Randy and his long and short-term vision for Aston Villa football club, we'd be struggling, whoever the manager was.

  7. As for talking about what happened in 1990 or 1998 or this winter for that matter, makes NO sense to me. ZERO!!

To be fair General, whilst I agree with you that last season has no bearing on this season, the manager and some players alike have been talking about last winter, the trip out to Spain last season and having the belief that history repeats itself so easily every season, when the reality is that it doesn't. Gabby talking of a barren patch last season and how he scored again, MON talking of how well the Spain trip did the team last season, when it seems that since the Dubai trip alot of players look even more tired than before they went!?!

There's no doubt the manager did work hard in the winter window, but seeing the results of his hard work, ie just Emile Heskey who, it seems, has so disrupted the rhythm of the team it begs the question of what he brings to the team/club (and no slant on the lad but the manager must've had an idea of how to play him!?), and alot of people are scratching their heads as to the tactical nuance of the manager at key moments. I mean, going all out attack away to a team who have put 4 past 2 of the best teams in the world is just suicide tactics, and in alot of games recently it has seemed that the manager hasn't a clue how to change a game to our advantage. I am not making fan excuses, but you can understand the frustration of hearing the same things said yet seeing no repsonses to situations on the pitch.

And I think the thing that has frustrated alot of supporters, and also angered some, is that what made us the team we are under MON, a team that opposition teams know will be competitive, has been lacking for a good few games now. And that is worrying. Far more worrying than any other aspect. Sure there will be times where the team doesn't play well, but all we ask is for them to compete. To hunt in packs, to defend from the front, to attack from the back, to take responsibility, be willing to have a shot at goal, to make it hard for the opposition and to show a passion for the shirt. Sadly, that seems to have been lacking lately. Tiredness or not, you fight til that whistle goes at full time.
