  1. Wow, that certainly is positive when most people are slashing their wrists! I can't really see what you are positive about, but I'll have some of whatever you're taking Villa for the Cup
  2. That must be one of the quickest reports on an Academy game! Thanks Martin Usually have to wait a couple of days to get any details. We should surely of won at home against Bristol - looks like we're gonna miss Gary Gardner
  3. Andy can speak for himself, but I suspect the info may have come from the Barclays Premier League website. That always seems to be the first website with Academy results, but I've noticed they have a nasty tendency to post 0-0 when they don't know the result! I've been caught out before on this. For yesterday's Academy results, they are currently showing SEVEN 0-0 results out of 12 games. Fishy, or what? lol
  4. Terrible news about Gary - he's been having such a great season too. The Under 18s were supposed to be playing away to Spurs on 30 Jan - a rescheduled game. Any news? Was the game played?
  5. Thanks for the report. There is now a report on the OS. It seems that it was Halfhuid that got the 5th goal. Stieber was the sub for Carruthers. Bring on Millwall
  6. Woohoo!! Great win I take it you were at the game InMartinWeTrust? How about a short report? Please;) It doesn't seem to have been reported anywhere else yet - not even on the Barclays Premier League website which is usually first with Academy scores.
  7. Yes, game is on 23rd, so that's tomorrow, and I checked the Premier League website - 11am kick-off at Bodymoor, as you say OBE.
  8. The small heath game today is an Academy (U18) game, rather than Reserves, isn't it?

    Que sera sera!

Reports say that Stan was playing through the pain barrier and had to have an injection at half time to keep going - should give him drugs more often

    Que sera sera!

Spot on, as usual, Mr Lewis - excellent analysis I would have like to see Stan get MOTM for his tremendous performance, but it is difficult to get past Jimmy Milner who is so often outstanding
  11. Thanks, John. Excellent report as usual and I agree totally with your views on the need to get that quality striker in now...if only one was available! MON has sorted the defence and midfield - it is just the strikers that are not good enough.
  12. This must surely be a convincing win against a poor and injury-ravaged Wet Spam 3-0 to the Villa The only question for MON is whether he should rest a couple of players before the Blackburn game in mid week. Perhaps another run-out for NRC and Sidders or Delph?
  13. Oops, sorry, didn't notice there was a separate thread for this game
  14. Great win against the Baggies in the Cup, with keeper Ben Siegrist apparently the hero Gary Gardner (again!) and Arsenio Halfhuid with two cracking goals. There's a report in the Express & Star here
  15. Excellent report - thanks OBE - and very well done to the lads Gary Gardner is having a great season, isn't he. Do you reckon he's a better prospect than Craig who seems to have lost his way a bit and I feel is likely to be let go by the club before too long?
  16. Excellent result and an excellent report – thanks for that. A bizarre line-up with only two natural defenders on the pitch! I guess that’s when happens when you send out all your defenders on loan (Baker, Lichaj, Lowry, Shorey). :?
  17. Maybe Tony McAndrew should have a chat to the first team after some of their 'lesser' performances :winkold:
  18. Tremendous report, as usual, OBE, and very humourous too - I was grinning through the whole read
  19. Thanks for the report, Blandy. A pretty fair summary of the game, although I would have given most players a rating of 6 rather than 7, other than Sidders, Ash and Carew who were only worth a 5. Heskey actually made a difference when he came on - never thought I'd say that  I can understand your annoyance with the early kick offs, but every cloud has a silver lining - it is great for those of us on the other side of the world who normally have to be up all night to watch the game  This one started at 10.45pm for a small group of Villans who watched the game in Sydney :winkold:
  20. Absolutely spot on with your ratings and comments, John, except I would probably give Friedel 8 too - despite his stuff-up with Drogba's goal, his subsequent efforts made sure we were still in the game For me, Brad challenges Collins and Dunne for MOTM
  21. Excellent report, as usual, OBE, thank you very much
  22. Thanks John. I broadly agree with your ratings but would have given Cuellar, Sidwell and Petrov 7 rather than 6. Carew was disappointing again. Heskey 6? Sorry, I don't see that one, but then I'm one of those that can't see what MON and Capello see in Heskey :wow: What's this about DAVID Dunne, though? :winkold:
  23. And I'll third this Seriously, I've said this several times before, but OBE's reports on the reserves are outstanding, and one of my main reasons for visiting this website
  24. Agree, Villadevon, the Rapid fans were amazing and, tbh, put us to shame  I thought Cuellar was outstanding and I like this guy more and more, now that he is getting a proper run in his preferred position. I can't make my mind up about Beye - agree BOF that at times he seems a liability, but other times he quite impresses me. There was one Vienna counter attack that caught us out a bit but it was Beye that managed to get back and make a vital interception. Young and Milner were excellent, and wasn't it good to see Big John back? Although Delph did well, I thought it a strange decision by MON to throw in a youngster rather than a more experienced head like Sidwell or NRC. Oh well, we can focus on top 4 now
