  1. WWE has a three strikes and your fired polic. While it is scripted he would have suffered an enormous financial loss and he may never be put in that position again.

Hard to imagine that the wellness policy is particularly rigorous when many of the wrestlers are clearly roided in order to achieve the physiques that they have.

It's probably at this point more rigorous than a lot of sports. Roman Reigns was champion two weeks ago and was the new golden boy he was caught and suspended for a month and stripped of the title.

in fairness it was a cracking pass

That is a shocking goal on so many levels. I forgot how bad it was. Bacuna, Guzan and Lescott all look terrible in that cameo.

I do love the bitterness. God forbid a player scores important goals to lead his team to a final, get injured and has the audacity to celebrate.

It just makes it better than he is the captain and he will lift the trophy :D

It's sort of like you and Messi isn't it?

  5. Tim Vickers wrote a pretty good article in defense of Messi. If I can find it again I ll link it.

People look back on Maradona and his achievements at times through rose tinted googles and forget the many games he played bad. They just remember the golden moments. Unfortunately Messi is having his career at the moment right in front of us and maybe in the future through the vennier of time gone by he will afforded that luxury.

Argentina were going nowhere in this Copa America till he came on and completely changed the dynamic.

For me he probably is the greatest player of all time. Sad to see him leave this way and yes it could have been handled far far better but the weight of expectation on his shoulders must be colossal.

since last October, Ireland have played 7 teams in competitive matches and 5 are in the quarter finals

think our players can be proud of their effort of a tough qualifying and group stage

    Wow that is impressive.

You d wonder how well we do if we managed to up our seeding and get a handy group like England.

In many ways it's a viscous cycle. You have a low seeding meaning you play much better teams, making it harder to qualify, meaning your seeding stays low. Repeat.

It's on Facebook so I can't quote but some Irish MEP wrote an interesting insight into events today in Brussels .. Google Luke Flanagan MEP and you might find it ...

he does seem like the Irish equivalent of Farage within the EU to some extent though so maybe take a lot of his article with a pinch of salt

Luke Flanagan is as far away from Farage as you could ever get. A heavy cannibas user and advocater of its legalization.

  8. RTE had some great stats about the teams England have beaten in knockout stages of major competitions since 1966.

Apart from Spain it was a very poor list. England basically have a long and storied history of bottling things.

Liam Brady was on last night as him, Dunphy and Giles are the 3 big hitters.  Mark kinsella and Kenny cunningham do the highlights show and the only other match pundit I've seen was Richie sadlier as I was away at the weekend and missed most of games.

Duff has also done a few. He s not to bad.

I'm going to see it on Sunday. The reviews aren't good, but **** it, I'm hyped, I've been waiting 5+ years for it.

I have no idea to the current story Warcraft 3 was the last game I played and it was a long time ago. People coming into it who are not fans will feel lost in the beginning.

Its not as terrible as it should be and looks very impressive in places. The Orcs look very well done. With a bit tighter writing and plot and one or two of the main characters recast it could have been pretty decent.

Fans seemed to really enjoy it though at the screening.

    Robert Jordan?

The wheel of time series. It's another hugely popular series. Quite like the Song of ice and fire the books began to drag out and then he died leaving the series unfinished.

The series was finished off by another author Brandon Sanderson. But the tone and writing of the book were not the same and I'm my opinion no where near as good.

Sanderson basically was a made man after finishing that series.

Apparently he's determined to finish it before the end of this year, but who knows?

I personally don't think he'll survive to finish the books, which would be a massive shame.

Very much this. The same happened with Robert Jordan with another writer taking o er and it just wasn't the same at all.
