How did Traore do? He’s the only player that started tonight that is expected to be in our first team this season.

We all know the other lot are rubbish but we need Traore to be decent if we don’t want to see Trez again this season.

I thought he was terrible. Hardly seemed to bother and forgot he was playing at times.

I heard the podcast....They make some feasible points, buts its all down to opinions.....I don't entirely/fully agree with them, I think that are being a bit hard on him.

I do agree that, the quality he has around him, is probably holding him back, he is being compared with players who have world class around them....I was rather hoping we could fix part of that this window, but not so sure, so far.

Listened to that podcast to. I didnt think it was great i thought they went a bit OTT in thier critisism of Jack. He d be lucky to get into the Villa side after listening to that let alone the England side. They didnt level the same criteria to the people who he would be competing with for places at all. It was more a case of being overly harsh on one of our own than being balanced.

Brushed over Foden basically highlighting one game he played well. At one point comparing Grealishs stats to Muellers whose playing in the best team in the world at the moment. I thought it was unfair on balance. Never mentioned the post lockdown form of the players they thought he would be competing against yet used Jack's to crucify him.

As an Irish person I never want to see him play for England but even I can admit he should be in the squad at the very least.

I think the notion that he's not trying is utter utter bollocks.

He's the only one out there who looks like he gives a shit.

Unfortunately he's surrounded by shit players, playing shit, under a shit manager.
He's not Messi. He can't dribble it around whole teams and score.

I cant agree with this at all. I love Jack but thats nonsense. He has hardly looked like he's breaking his bollocks since the restart. Because he has been so great before he's getting a pass from a lot of people.

Plenty of players with far less ability putting in a bigger shift than him. Look at Trez he's muck but hes putting in a huge amount of work out on that pitch. Jack simply isnt doing that.

Surprised his thread hasn't been bumped, he was superb again. Really hope we stay up so we can see this lad push up to the next level.

For me probably our best player. Put in a huge shift again.

  5. I think people are very hard on him today. He was completely isolated up front chasing hopeless balls for most of the game. He won a few with 2 defenders on him and had absolutely no one to lay it off or pass to. He really needs a striker to play off him or Jack to actually put in some effort and get up beside him.

Yet he was the only one who fashioned openings and direct shots on goal.

I dont think this is quite true. El Ghazi had a shot and so did Luis.

Realistically hes our best player, head and shoulders above everyone else we have. But preformance wise for the last few games we have played he's been shocking.

At the beginning of the season he was non stop moving, chasing people down, making tackles everywhere. Today he barely broke a sweat. To often he was strolling about the pitch especially in the second half. As Captain his preformances since the end of lockdown have been pathetic. He looks a shadow of the player he was at the start of the season. His passing today at times bar once or twice was poor. He was so slow on the ball killing any momentum. He had the ball pinched off him a lot. He clearly is better than this and clearly is not putting in the effort. I struggle to rememeber him even breaking into a sprint.

    What’s a Cavan lad?

    - A Cavan man and his wife were at the fair and a pilot was offering a free flight to anyone who would stay quiet while he did loop the loops in the small plane. If they screamed it would cost $50.

    - The Cavan couple climbed on board and the pilot did his worst to complete silence from the back of the plane.

    - Finally he landed and he complimented the Cavan man on the two-way radio for staying quiet.
“Ah now, I nearly shouted when the wife fell out," the Cavan man replied.

Not sure on that - I think we will lose half our team if we fail to go up and major changes will be required either way .

Realisticly I think even if we some how manage to go up we'll lose half our team. And most of what we have left isnt good enough for the premiership.

Of our loanees we might keep Johnstone but it will cost us. I think we shouldnt keep snodgrass as he will struggle in the premiership. Sadly the same with Terry. Grabbadon struggled to start in the premiership so do we take a gamble on buying him.

Jedinak to some extent and Whelan to every extent will need replacing. We also have massive problems up front so a new striker is needed.

So I could see us needing maybe a keeper, definetly two good centre backs, a left back, maybe a right back, a defensive midfielder and a striker at minimum. Thats 7 players already.

Watched a fair bit of Manhunt: Unabomber today. Still got a couple of episodes left, but it's a decent watch. There's some ropeyness to the script, dodgy dialogue here and there and some of the dramatisation is dumb (most of the stuff superfluous to the actual story is crap) but it's a decent watch and hits all the notes it needs to. Hopefully they'll go into Kaczynski's background, his time at college is very interesting.

Paul Bettney was very good in the role. Gave a more human feel to the protaginst. I enjoyed it.

It also puts a nice spin on Thanos because he's technically killing a terrorist so he cant be all bad?

  10. I think when people say hes not a premiership quality midfielder they have no clue what that means.

There are an awful lot of journey men midfielders in the premiership. Glen Whelan up untill last year was premiership midfielder. Look at our own midfield the last couple of years in the Premiership for god sake.

It does sound like one of the few superhero comicbook movies that won't be total shite.

I might even go and see it.

Its a decent marvel movie, nothing more, if taken on its own merits. Probably a 7 maybe 7.5 out of 10. They it has been marketed and pushed however are very similair to Wonderwoman in that a lot of its short comings will be ignored.

It has a very good cast and a lot of strong preformances. Boseman is very good in the lead. Jordan had the makings of one of the better marvel villians till the story let him down badly.

The action is weak at times and the fighting scenes are poor in general and suffer from far to much CGI and seem to lack any punch or impact. Martin Freeman is jarring with an American accent. The humour is more gentle and not as strong as previous films.

All in all it sits about the Doctor Strange level for me on the Marvel scale at the moment. Far below the Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorock and Guardians.
