  1. Yeah there is no doubt that Messi is their main man, but to be honest it's their defence who have been doing the business in this world cup. This is not a Maradona 86 situation.

Argentina only conceeded 5 goals in 86 with 2 of them coming in the final. They were no mugs back then.

  2. If you step back from the incident and look at it. Its hard to actual prove if he bit him or not. The camera angles and replays so far cant prove 100% he bit him. It looks more like he threw his head in most of them.

That pic of Chelini looks doctored. I m not supporting Suarez far from it but you cannot say 100% that he bit him on the evidence so far. Now he may well have bit him but Uraguay will figh tooth and nail, boom boom, against any ban and on the evidence so far they ll probably win.

  3. Finished bound by flames today. I only got it cause I m a sucker for an RPG and there was nothing else really out.

It has some interesting ideas and some enjoyable bits but overall its just really poor. From the storyline to the quests to just generally everything. The play area itself is really small and it compensates by having you go constantly back and forth doing quests.

There are maybe 10-12 different types of enemies in the whole game which are just repeated. I d avoid it if I were you.

  4. Gutted it was the season finale of the mentalist this week as has been a great season.

Got to wait until next year for the next :(

I like the Mentalist but I thought it built up brilliantly then lost a lot after the cumulation of the Red John story arc.

  5. Career Mode is so nearly there it's infuriating.  They need to:

•Fix the "First Team Quality" glitch in the global scouting.  It's game-breaking and counter to point of even having a scouting system, for feck's sake.

•5*/5* global scouts should always return the overall value of individual players you've sent them to scout in their final reports, otherwise there's no point shelling out for them over the cheaper 3*/3* global scouts.

•Have more than six global scouting slots (9 would be fine).

•Always have the option of hiring whatever star-value global/youth scout you desire instead of a random list of 5.  It is utterly infuriating to have money sat in your bank for scouts but having to check the market every Monday just to see if the rating or nationality you are after has become available.

•Stop the board being able to sell players against your will.  This never happens, if it did managers would be quitting left, right and center (especially as the players seem to always get sold for less than their market value).  Have your refusal to sell adversely affect board approval ratings, by all means, but the board should never ever be able to sell your team out from under you.

•Club takeovers need to less frequent.  After 15 seasons in the SPL I had every Scottish team bought out, with ~£100m each to spend every season.

•Fix the 'goalkeeper-trousers-on-regenerated-outfield-youth-players' glitch.  You can fix it yourself if it's one of your own regens, but you can't if it's a regen at another team and it is utterly ridiculous (although funny as hell the first time you encounter it).

I could probably write an essay on this (including some neat ideas for improvements) but I can't be arsed to type it (and I damn sure couldn't be arsed to even read it back, myself).

Also allow youth team players to develop quicker or start off at higher ratings.

it shouldnt be beyond the realm of possibilities for a youth team player to be extremely fast from the beginning.

  6. Saw Spider-Man 2 tonight. I know it's essentially a kids movie and I know it will no doubt make a lot of money but it really is piss poor.

Electro was very badly done. Before he transformed he was essentially Dwayne Dibbley from red dwarf. There were an awful lot of plot holes and generally just stupid occurrences and cliches all over the shop.

For me it was Batman and Robin bad.

  7. Clark who left Rooney on his own when we was 1-0 up?

Clark hasn't developed, keeps making elementary mistakes, and is what 25?...For me if your'e not in the 1st team at 24/5, then you may as well be moved on.

It was Vlaar who let Rooney by him. Clark was left with two players in the box and followed one. For me that goal was all about Vlaar being way out of place.

  8. I can't see him staying if he's lost the fans. Needs something Saturday to not lose them completly.

He hasn't lost the fans. I back Lambo 100% & I am not the only poster who holds that view on VT either.

The reality is he has only lost the impatient fans & not the one's who believe in the Lambert Project & see that as the bigger picture.

Some fans have only turned recently out of frustration at having to stick with a long term project that has been derailed mainly due to the loss of our talisman Benteke.

Get over the line & many of these fans can easily be won back again.

Also, there is no shame in being wrong or frustrated because it is only due to the hurt & despair of seeing our beloved Villa languishing down amongst the dead men.

Lambert has balls & I like that.

As for the fans currently against him I would say "Don't Ball's It Up For The Rest Of Us!"

    'Impatient fans'

    'Project'

    'Bigger picture'

I thought we'd moved on from this sort of post.

It's not a question of moving on, it's merely a question of acknowledging, understanding & recognising those realities.

Just from your own point of view what did you actually think of his tactics at the weekend?

Most people in the match thread before kick off were saying playing 5 at the back against palace and 3 in midfield would ultimately let us get over run. Which is exactly what happened.

If you check that thread you ll see a large volume of people on it calling for a subscription 10-20 mins before the goal as our formation wasn't working and Palace were all over us.

This is what worries me about Lambert and has become a more prevalent point as the season has progressed. These things above are blinding obvious to us and yet he can't seem to see it. Tactically as the season has progressed he has regressed.

Wrong formations, slow to adapt or change. Baffling substitutions or substitutions which are to little and to late.

This has little to do with money for me but far more to do with his coaching ability.

The more I see of Villa lately the more I lose faith in any plan he has or even if he ever had one to begin with.

I think if he was tearing a league up one would wonder why he wasn't playing for us.

Well exactly. But some people are beginning to wonder why he isn't playing for us (or at least will be wondering why if he isn't next season). All I'm saying is that whilst he has had a relatively decent season he shouldnt get too far ahead of ourselves. Patience and another loan - perhaps in the Championship - will be good for him. I think Jack definitely has the potential to tear up a league and probably will do one day if we give him the time to develop properly.

While that is a valid arguement with a lot of merit there comes a time when you have to know if a player is good enough for the premiership or not. I see nothing wrong with giving him a few cameo's at the end of the season. I seriously doubt many if any villa fans would write him off or get on his back for a few bad passes. It certainly takes a lot more than that for us to get on a players back.

Playing in league one is all well and good but if hes good enough to have a go why not try him. There's no right formula here. For all we know playing at the level he is now could be hindering his development. I m not saying it is but its a valid an argument as saying he needs to play at a lower level.

Look at our youth team now. A lot of our promising players are in the 20-21 bracket while players for other teams younger than that have already been tried in the premiership. These lads should have been given a go a long time ago to see could they make the step up.

I don't get this "He's not ready, let him develop naturally...." or "He is not ready phisically".

BS, throw him in the deep end like Arsenal did with Walcott!

Yeah that's worked out amazingly for him, hasn't it?

    Well yes it has really.

Injuries are part and parcel of the game no matter level your playing at.

For some reason at this club we have a massive reluctance to give our own youth a chance. Look at another example like James Millner or Rooney. No one is saying play him 24/7.

Why play a big man up front and drop your winger?????

Albrighton has looked decent of late and he has a cross on him. Makes no sense at all.

Really - were you at VP last week ?

No because I live in Spain but I watched it. I think he has looked ok of late and offers a threat that we don't have from anyone else out there. He IS a creative player.

Albrighton was arguably our best player last week. Even go back and read the match thread and see.

  12. 47 Ronin

9/10 for the Hot asian girls

Possibly its only redeeming point but... Keanu Reeves

    %D0%B5%D0%B4%D1%80%D0%BE-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0

    About that film

Why exactly did Keanu kill himself at the end. He wasnt one of the Ronin and hadnt been forbidden from seeking revenge. Made no sense.

  13. Most Barça players are extremely unlikable in my opinion. Though I have always liked Real Madrid, so there may be a bit of bias in that.

I think the same can be said of Real Madrid to.

  14. They have started making Gotham a tv series about the early years of Commissioner Gordon a sort of prequel to the batman franchise. Its supposed to have several origin stories in it in relation to several of the major villians.

Has the potential to be very good but also has the potential to be Agents of Shield bad.

    Fingers crossed.

  15. First wrestling event ive enjoyed in sometime. Glad bryan won was a fitting ending to an alright show. Cant see that bryan gimmick lasting long though. Other then the 'yes' gimmick he is nothing but an average wrestler with zero charisma compared to guys like austin and the rock.

Still cant believe ziggler is not being pushed. Im convinced he would become a big star if he was turned into a big time heel.

Undertaker losing to lesner made no sense. Why not let him lose to an up and comer to give them a push?! Made no sense that one.

One of the better wrestlemania's of recent years for sure.

Bryan is an average wrestler? Surely your kidding.

    Zero charisma?

  16.

    Gotta be fake but...

Bull. You can't bet on pro wrestling, the outcomes are determined waaaaaay in advance.

    you can.

Like I said, I don't understand how they allow it. But you can.

Might explain why the odds are so ridiculous though (1/66 undertaker win)

The reason the odds were so low for this match was because of the streak. Its probably the most important thing in Wrestlemania. Bigger than even the title. The whole world was convinced it was Takers to win.

Interestingly enough seems a good bit of money was thrown on Lesner late yesterday dramitically changing the odds.

  17. I thought Mark was our best and liveliest player today. Everything decent seemed to come through him.

Strange to think a lot of people wanted shot of him and in recent weeks since he's been back he's either been man of the match or close to it for us in nearly all his preformances.

Stranger still was taking him off when we needed a goal at the end. As he was only one of the few people creating chances.
