  1. There has only ever been support for the share price when news of phantom takeovers has been released. It's just a question of it if it falls back to the £3 it was a year ago or the £2 the year before. Once they fall off that cliff there's a long way for them to go.
  2. Breakaway Villa fans group announce new Ellis Out strategy
  3. New crowd control measures tested ahead of end of season protests
  4. Wouldnt call this a venture capitalist investment, but ultimately yes the old man will be wanting some return on his £3m.
  5. I wouldn't go to court with that statement. Whilst not overboard in its politeness, I don't see anything factually wrong with that statement.
  6. Damn, thought this was going to be a take that thread.
  7. Pardon? You give your manager a present and he turns around sues you? I'd be a bit pissed off with him as well. The only reason M&M sold their shares to glazer was fergie tried to **** them over and got manu clearing in the woods fans stalking them, sending them threatening letters, disrupting their business activities, death threats. The greedy drunk red nosed clearing in the woods started that fight and lost. Don't remember M&M acting in any way dishonourably (with regards to mufc plc).
  8. He may get his money eventually but he's not getting any younger either Ian and I would have thought that he would want to hurry things up so he still has some time to spend it (or does he also plan to live forever)? His investment in AVFC PLC represents about 1% of his wealth. Not his most pressing concern compared to the other deals he has been pulling off recently. No, I think they have thrown their hand in Stewiek2. However, I think it is Neville who is still in the game and I think he is just looking to secure the funds from a source other than the Comer Bros. to be able to call our chairman's bluff. Whether those extra funds are coming from "individuals whose wealth would be exceeded in English football only by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich" or they are new players who have just come to the table is less clear. But, I just hope something does happen soon and whether their manager is David, Alan, Martin, Sam or Sven, is something that I would be happy to leave in the hands of new owners but not in the hands of the present CEO! In two years, one bid, and that was dismissed by Ellis as undervaluing the club despite it being 50+% above the market price. [edited] deleted muppet ramblings and remembered that alcohol takes a long long time to get out of the system. [/edited]
  9. Ellis has no interest in selling. And so as far as he's concerned the best manager for the job will be the one that keeps the crap from his front door, DOL.
  10. Lying again? Lying all along.
  11. Cashflow. Why we couldn't pay bakke, and rushed through cheap kit deal and shirt sponsorship agreements. When the cheque from that nice mr murdoch arrives we'll be able to pay the cleaners etc. No doubt cuddly will also graciously forgo any dividend payment from his succesfully run business again this year.
  12. As a professional outfit, I'm sure Rothers are performing the job they have been asked to do. It's now over three months since they were appointed and not a pip squeak from anyone about anything. Of course the yeh-sayers will be saying that it's all heavily secret and will only become public now that we are 'safe' from relegation. Because we all know cuddly always tells the truth.
  13. but didn't I get told that Rothschilds only gets paid on comission and this surely can only be forthcoming on a takeover. we will probably not know about it eh ??? Rothschild do lots of different types of work and negotiate separate agreements with each of their clients. I am sure in the past they may have taken on work for some people on a no-sale, no-fee basis. But I am sure that is the exception and not the norm (and that those clients "wanted" to sell). Would anyone take on an unachievable job only to be paid on success? If they have been appointed merely to act as the company's broker and to advise. You don't get paid commission to advise. No commission in that Sounds to me that they are more likely to be getting a nice hefty fee for advising cuddly that he's asking too much and there's no on who will buy at that price.
  14. I'm sure rothschild are being adequately paid for what they've been asked to do.
  15. Curtailing spending sounds like no ones got authorisation to spend more than £x. So no ones making decisions. Looking back it's a surprise that they managed to sort out the delaney option and davis' contract.
  16. Indeed. Thats the difference between "wanting to sell" and "being willing to sell". He doesnt want out, isn't making the preparations to leave, but is too old and befuddled to provide any level of leadership.
  17. I'm sure Rothers are doing the job they have been asked to do quite adequately.
  18. But Prodi may yet join Big Al Gore in winning the poll, but losing the election. Berlusconi still has two weeks in office during which to break the opposition coalition and get someone to swap sides to Forza (he has done this in the past), or get the president to declare a state of emergency (based on silvio's assertion that the left are trying to usurp the democratic will of 50% of the electorate). The president's reign ends in a months time so either such deal could leave silvio as an unoppsed political power. The clammer from dubya and tony and jacques et al for Silvio to do the honest thing is deafening in its silence. If this was mugabe trying to cling onto power, or a left wing south american government I'm sure they'd be a tad more vocal. Right wing crooks stick together.
  19. Five days after the polls closed. 3 days after the results were confirmed. Berlusconi is still refusing to concede defeat and performing to rallies of his supporters urging them to 'resist' and labelling his centre left opponents as extremists trying to run roughshod over democratic process.

    SEX!

Shock horror - a rantin rob poll, and the poll graph is beginning to look strangely phallic.
  21. Hopefully it will be named the cuddly memorial training ground
  22. Quite true ickle, unless of course the free publicity they're getting from 'being linked' is helpful to them. The point was that if someone was interested in buying the club, then at some stage during a drawn out 6 months of careful planning, negotiations etc, that they would have by now, come out and proclaimed their love for the fans, the clubs history etc. Or just say something - "I've never heard of this neville chap" for instance. But not one dicky bird from the brothers grimm.
  23. Yeh, snippets were posted last week and the point made that again the comments were coming from the one brother who's not involved (not that Billy was just spinning a yarn to get some free publicity for his new restaurant or anything). Expressions of interest from Luke and Brian are as commonplace as quotes from Petchey saying he wants to sell up and enjoy a quiet retirement - ie non existent.
