  1. I think City will today, but, they have much better player's than we do.
  2. One game ni to a new season, with a new manager who has a completely different playing style to our previous manager and suggestions of a change of style are being made. 3-5-2 is old hat, The latest version of this is Man City's 3-2-3-1-1, a club that have enough personnel to play any style they wish very well. We don't have that number or quality of personnel, but I'm confident this will improve over this and next season. The best we can do to match City's style in my opinion is ----------------Lowton - Vlaar - Clark----------- -----------------------Delph - KEA---------------- ----------------Holman - Bannan - N'Zog-------- -------------------------- Ireland ----------------- --------------------------- Bent ----------------- To improve that team we need someone better to replace Ireland, who could then move to Bannan's slot, who could move out to take N'Zog's place. Keane had the nous and brains to fill the Ireland role last season, Dempsey would be ideal for this, but I think that's a long shot. Maybe the new Euro scout has someone in mind . The option to N'Zog's place is Adam Johnson, but again it's a long shot. I think 10th is the best we'll do this year and after reading through the hysteria in the ''Relegation'' thread that would be acceptable to many right now. Yesterday we had 65% possession away from home, I can't remember we had that percentage at home. Lambert is at the beginning of his reign, it's plain to see how he wants us to play and it will take time, so, as the saying goes; KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.
  3. Joke's on you if we sign Ba. Posts like this make it worthwhile logging in.
  4. Or...just perhaps....you've been sold a dud and you aren't as ITK as you think. Give it a rest. You are becoming boring, which is something that can't be said about Julie's posts.
  5. I know a few posters on here have made jibes towards Norwich posters as country yokels, but the naivety of your posts is not helping to dismiss the label. The internet has been available for many years, even in Norfolk, and contains a wealth of information about just about anything. So to find a reference to any footballer's contract longevity is fairly simple.
  6. I think the fog was in Guernsey. But then again it could just be the smog that seems to shroud us all up here.
  7. Neil Moxey the Midlands correspondent for the Daily Mail was on Talk Sport other day, he is under the impression from what he has heard that the new manager will be given significant funds to rebuild the squad, gotta be more than £8 million surely. Don't see us making much from player sales in transfer fees. Bent £15m, Gabby £7m, Nzogbia £5m, Ireland £3m That would mean the new man has £23m to spend to replace the 4 listed above and also Cuellar, Guzan, Heskey and Petrov. Do you spend all day dreaming this shit up? I am also led to belive that 3 of the 4 from Bent, Gabby, Nzogbia and Ireland have requested transfers away from Villa Park but time will tell. Three players have put in transfer requests and nothing has been reported. Jesus, if you're going to make shit up make it close to believable
  8. You mean 'Crazy Diego'? He'd bring a buzz a vibrancy He'd lift the whole city He'd eat the whole City!! Except for small heath, even he wouldn't eat that shit!!!
  9. Zambia and Zaire - Emment Kapengwe and Freddie Mwila
  10. If its not on RAWK already, somebody please get this picture over to the They will be delighted Off to microwave some popcorn It must be genuine, there's even a scouser in the window!
  11. Well now we know who Martinez is speaking to as that other guy is dippers ownerJohn Henry methinks Really? I think it looks like Ian McCullloch.
  12. Let it go old chap, we are all cut up but this ain't happening. I must admit I don't think its 100% dead. I think he (OGS) would have to make the call though. I just keep thinking big Ron in the early 90's Exactly! Strange things happen in football!!!
  13. I think Villa will go back to OGS next week after their season has closed for the break. I think this whole change of heart is a charade to get Molde through to the break. It may be a bit left field but it's too quiet at B6 and the tweets are saying nothing happening before next week, so I think it will be back on.
  14. How is the league irrelevant to Chelsea. Unless I've missed something if they lose in the final they need top four to qualify next year. Bayern Munich in their backyard is not going to be easy.
  15. I reckon Wigan 38Pts QPR 37Pts Bolton 36Pts B'burn 33Pts So we need a win or 2 draws, how we get them I haven't clue, but Saturday would be a good start. It's going to the wire, Norwich away is going to be a stressful couple of hours.
  16. I don't think yopu get it at all. I was at Villa ark and for 60 minutes I was enjoying the game and then in 3 minutes experienced the ecstacy and agony of football and supporting a team. The almost instant turnaround from winning to losing rips aprt yuor emotions from high to low. It wasn't the result I wanted and hoped for but would any of the goals in the match you watched given me the same journey of emotions, no, nowhere near. That's the diffrence mate between watching a football match and watching the team you love drag through 2 hours of emotional rollercoaster. We lost, but I'll be back next game for some more, because that's what experiencing football is supposed to be like, not sat at home with abeer watching 2 teams you have no feelings for. I don't envy you watching that game, I pity you on your fairweather, entertain me, I'm only interested if we are winning mentality.
  17. Just asking that question is amazing. The Manure game is the only show in town that night, most ''football fans'' are going to be interested in it. But if it was on tonight I would be travelling out of Manchester to get to Villa Park to watch MY team, because that's all I really care about.
  18. I've just read through this thread and it has saddened me. The apathy that has overcome the club and fans would not have been imagined 5 years ago never mind 25. The total access to all football matches these days has obviously created a different mindset in certain fans. When I was watching Villa in the 60's and 70's there were no games being shown on TV to compete against. You waited until you got home and if it was a Wednesday and Sportsnight was on you watched highlights. I can't imagine watching Chelsea if they were in my back garden, never mind dumping the Villa for them. I honestly thought this thread had been started as a wind up but as others posted their agreement with it I couldn't beleive what I was reading. Everyone has the right to do what they want with their time and money but it's sad when they decide to turn their back on their team in their hour of need, to watch another team who will probably park the bus and attempt to stifle Barca. I don't care how shit it might be at Villa tonight, I will drive down later today from Manchester with nerves eating away at me, I'll be stressed to the hilt during the game, but I wouldn't miss it for the world, because it's the Villa, simples.
  19. There's no 'increase' in form needed.. in their last 6 games Bolton have won 3, drawn 1 & lost 2... if you were to repeat that over the next 6 (albeit 5 left) they would stay up. Bolton also don't do 'draws' - yes they drew this weekend but that was only their 3rd this season. Bolton have won more games than us and if they keep that up they will get more points... IF Bolton beat us I firmly believe they'll stay up. That probably makes some sort of sense on Planet CI
  20. Bolton have 1 game in hand, it's against Spurs, if that's winnable for them it's also winnable for us. Bolton have lost 21 games out of 33 and you feel they are now good enough to win 3 from 5, it's difficult to see where that increase in form is going to come from, yesterday was probably one of their easier fixtures and they only drew.
  21. The gap is gone? Last night it was 5 points with 7 games to go. Let's see where we are after the 2 Easter games. probably 2 points with 5 games to go. That's the spirit!
