There was rumour a couple of weeks back on twitter that it might be open for the Brighton game, but just a whisper and I've seen nothing since.

What it opens as is anyone's guess - I'd love to think the club will have learned some lessons from the Terrace View.

Thanks and hope so too. Would be good to get some proper communication from the club but if they are reviewing the position that maybe the reason for radio silence.

  2. Is there any update about the Holte Suite yet? I know it's not been open for home games so far but cannot see anything about the Palace game. Heard on the grapevine that it is going to hospitality which would be disappointing.

Yeah, I have two thoughts on it personally. The world, the characters, the writing (other than the hamfisted romance mentioned above), I love it.

5th Edition DnD rules are a bit of a drawback though, for me. Divinity: Original Sin was just more fun because they've been able to build a combat system from the ground up to be fun in games, rather than being faithful to DnD. In Original Sin by characters feel more powerful, more customisable, there's more emphasis on equipment, and I had way more options in terms of how I can build my party - don't want companions? Go for the Lone Wolf and have fewer chars that get a massive power boost. Plus much more powerful surface and other environmental effects that are present in BG3 but toned down

It's still fun, I'm loving this game, but combat is the worst part of it (just like actual DnD, tbh).

I just started Act 3 last night, and I can't wait to have another go tonight, but I'm also really looking forward to finishing and having another blast through Original Sin. Might not hold up as well as it does in my memory.

Yeah playing actual DnD though has helped on the mechanics side though with combat. I've found the ability to push/pull has helped massively with the environment. Wyll having Repellent Blast (pushes enemy 10ft with Eldritch Blast) and spell sniper made short work of 1 fight in particular...

Just wrapping up the ancillary stuff around Act 1 and then heading through to Act 2; deliberating which path to go.

I think only played Divinity: Original Sins 2 and definitely enjoyed it, but I can't really recall the mechanics etc. with it!

  4. Absolutely cracking game. Currently playing split screen with the wife and whilst it is clearly more buggy than the PC version (already had 1 patch in the last week); its clear why it is getting the praise that it is.

Resource management though... want to cast all the f***ing spells...

i would guess that the negativity will be angled more towards him being southgates mate who shouldnt be playing for england given the standard of the saudi league and his playing ability

the moral side of him playing there will be a strange mixture of people not caring and pearl clutching

True, and the game is being played in Poland which is not exactly a pro LGBTQ+ zone...

Wasn't aware of the interview until this popped up on my algorithm but from reading this thread, it seems a suitable place to share :)

I do wonder what the reaction will be when he plays for England.

What a shit show of a selection.

Gareth has his boys and he will not deviate from them. It’s more amazing he hasn’t included Mason Mount in this selection.

Watkins, Konsa, Bowen, Ward Prowse, Pope and Sterling all must be scratching their heads and looking at their family trees right now

I didn't even realise that Pope wasn't in the squad until saw this, just presumed that he was in there! Seriously team is shocking for every reason every other person.

Genuinely not bothered about England for a long time, he is just a disappointment and poor manager; he is just there because he doesn't cause issue and England should cake walk the qualifiers. He just doesn't have any tactical nuance or ability when coming up against a competent team.

  9. A little sad to be honest as high hopes but clearly wants first team football which can’t complain at. Clearly trust in his development with seeking the buy back as well so generally good deal. Just hoped he would follow through his brothers shoes and not have to move “permanently” but I think that’s the more of the modern game now anyway. At least we are on the other side of those types of deals now.

Off the top of my head.

    Cynic - Focus

    Ulver Bergtatt

    Nas - Illmatic

    Tetsu Inoue - Ambiant Otaku

    Wu-tang Clan - 36 Chambers

Now that’s a spread of tastes. Cynics albums was never really appreciated at the time though and to be honest I prefer Ulver’s sophomore album Kveldssanger.

Surprised nobody has mentioned, never mind the bollocks

A few did, notably @bickster  & @mjmooney. I don’t think it’s got quite the punch anymore. If I want punk, I’ll shove on The Ramones over Sex Pistols any day of the week.

Shame quite a few of the pictures haven’t survived over the years but it’s interesting seeing what people say. Some surprising omissions though (unless in links or missing pictures): -

    Black Sabbath - S/T

    Black Flag - Damaged

    Ghost - Opus Eponymous

Machine Head - Burn My Eyes

The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium

    RATM - S/T

    The Ramones - S/T

    Slipknot - S/T

Television - Marquee Moon (not a particular favourite, but know it to be hugely influential as well).

It’s good to see the disputes around Oasis/Artic Monkeys hasn’t changed ‘much in 10 years! It’s actually funny reading through the thread and seemingly people were not as aware of all of the possible opinions on the board.

KK's Priest were filling in for Helloween, who couldn't make it, KK being KK Downing, plus one or two other previous members of Judas Priest, and a vocalist really really trying to channel Rob Halford. They may have been doing Judas Priest songs, but I didn't hear the handful of songs I know by JP so can't comment.

Sepultura followed, and they were excellent by and large, hell of a show and gave people what they wanted. Followed by Megadeth. I do not know any Megadeth songs, I played Hanger 18 yesterday and I was none the wiser. My mate, they are one of his favourite bands so he was loving it. I didn't hate it at the end, I would see them again if they were at a festival.

Yeah the vocalist he has got for KK Priest is actually Tim “The Ripper” Owen who fronted actual Judas Priest when Halford left in the 90s. They have released a couple of albums which have been OK but not memorable to be honest!

Sepultura would have been good and although I’m not a Megadeth fan, glad you enjoyed yourself!

Well Kavanaugh will never go against Trump. Trump made the whole Senate GOP crowbar in a completely inappropriate SCJ - I wouldn’t trust Kavanaugh to umpire a girls under 12 softball game, and if he did he’d probably be drunk from the night before.

Amy is a complete psychopath- absolutely certifiable and a religious ( Catholic ) zealot hand picked by the Federalist Society - I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a Manchurian candidate.

So that leaves the corrupt, racist (anti-black ffs) Clarence Thomas and then we are really stretching any kind of victory for common sense. I would be in shock for the rest of my life if this SC went against Trump.

I would expect Thomas to support Trump given his/his wife’s actions over the last few years but the rest I’m not convinced. If Amy is a Federlist (honestly I don’t know much about the individual SCOTUS save the top line knowledge) as well then maybe she will back this line of thinking in the paper. Is so they actually only need 1 more vote (presuming the left leaning Judges agree to bar him).

The reason the right has so verdantly backed Trump was so they could pack the Courts with right wing Judges and certainly that has happened; particularly in SCOTUS. However, what use is he now to the “established” element of the right? What can he provide to them? There are question marks over whether he can win another election and what would another 4 terms yield? There’s more risk that he will be found to be a fraud. Why not back another, take a loss but a lesser one, wait 4 years of more chipping away at Biden/Democrats and then take the office then?

Politically, it would make sense to me. We’ve seen Judges in lower Courts appointed by him in essence go against him (the one dealing with the Florida case is IIRC). They have packed the Courts and got rid of abortion rights, so I don’t think Trump has much use for them, in fact he may now be more of a hindrance than a benefit to them.

The constitutional case that Donald Trump is already banned from being president (Vox.com)

Interesting read on the above link.  There's a lot more to it, but here's a little quote:

Reading the amendment and without reading the paper, I still suspect that a finding of insurrection would be necessary in a Court to determine he has be found to have  “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or “given aid or comfort”. The latter is certainly more profound but again would be up for debate. However, if the Supreme Court RW Judges have had enough of him I suspect that at least 1 or 2 would be persuaded by the "legal arguments".

    Tomorrow is **** Bloodstock :D

Daughter with the grandparents, and 3 days of getting pissed in a field and letting out the rage

Honestly, much weaker lineup than last year, and I've literally never heard of 3/4 of them. Couldn't care less.

Get Ready to Rock at Bloodstock 2023: Lineup Changes, Metal ...

Whilst definitely fan of KSE & Meshuggah (and others) those 2nd stage headliners interest me more. Zeal & Ardor are incredible and never seen Biohazard although not so much a fan that not going to their Wolvo show next week! Agree though, I've seen better lineups there.

Some good bands though, for letting out the rage would recommend Gatecreeper, Sacred Reich & Employed to Serve. Also if you want to get your goth on check out Unto Others on Sunday. Saw them support Carcass and were pretty cool.

I suspect the women that were sentenced with Watkins are now out living their life.

Probably, they got 17 and 14 years so if they are it will be on licence (can't believe this was 10 years ago).

With Watkins, I'm surprised its taken this long for something like this or alternatively that they haven't kept him alone for his own protection. Prisoners do not like child abusers in any capacity.

Im level 67. I tried the 70 dungeon with one other and we xoulsnt do ut as it was so **** hard.

I might need a higherlevel l player ro join me as its gonna take me forever to get  tp level u0

The wife and I have got up to level 62 (rogue and sorcerer respectively) and whilst do love the Diablo games as we get to couch co op (getting rarer these days) the last couple of levels have been complete and utter dull grind. Really does feel that they have needed the XP side. Not bothered with season 1 stuff as will need to start new character etc. and can’t be bothered right now.

Like you, we at least want to unlock tier 4 and then take it from there. Tried the capstone at 61 and managed the first part ok but when we got to the collecting animus part, we just kept getting hammered. Has anyone done the capstone to tier 4 and if so what level did you manage to get it at?

Guitar. I should add, we never played together. I was chosen to be in a new version of GZR in 1997 but it was kyboshed as Sabbath reformed.
Though totally gutted, I did get front row seats at the NEC to see them.

Ah that sucks but at least a bit of a silver lining. The GZR stuff is actually quite surprising given his Sabbath roots but would have been cool. Sorry it didn't pan out for you!

Na they will be around when me ans you are no longer here.

It was also said the same when labour lost last election and had people like chuka were leaving the party

Theae two parties will always exist unfortunately

They didn't always, or certainly were not the biggest parties in the UK. It wasn't until the 1918 election when Labour became a major force with the Conservatives and Liberals before hand being the main parties. Even then it wasn't until 1924 election that the Liberals lost significantly to the the extent that they became the 3rd party. They then went into pretty much oblivion until they were merged with the social democrats to become the Liberal Democrats.

The point is that nothing lasts forever. The Tories have been held in significant power due to grip over the narrative in the press. It may be that finally people have had enough but we shall see.

In today's Sunday Times (unable to link - paywall), Geezer Butler in the column "My Club" says: "I only visit Villa Park once or twice a season now, but in America you can see any game live on the television. I haven't missed a home or away match for seven years." Good stuff Geezer! ;)

If people haven't already got it, I would highly recommend his autobiography for any Sabbath fan. He was the most "sober" member so probably the most accurate viewpoint but also some great Villa stories as well.

Shame it seems that the Sabbath Villa Park gig will always be a dream rather than a reality.
